  1. I use my headset almost daily between DCS and Elite Dangerous, so I just leave it plugged in and powered up. I do "cycle" the USB connection (unplug/plug) if my system stops "seeing" the headset, for example after a Windows update this has happened. I have on "old guy" bias to NOT power down computer equipment unless necessary and apply that to the peripherals as well. Best wishes.
  2. Small correction if I may: Should read "Dive Recovery Flaps". A different animal and a different purpose from dive brakes. They were also used on the P-38... did Lockheed first design them?? I don't know. But thanks for posting all the great info! Best wishes.
  3. This may not be practical, or may not be something DoW would want to consider, but there is a client-side "labels mod" that reduces labels to tiny red and blue dots... about the size of a " . " Our small squad sometimes uses this "cheat" when we fly together.... I strongly prefer labels "off", but it is often VERY difficult (too difficult?) to spot aircraft in DCS without labels. Flak is a good work-around for the visibility issues however. Keep up the good work!
  4. Excellent skin (once again!) Whiplash. Thanks!
  5. Takeoff and landing in the Dora (like the Mustang) takes close attention, timely control input, and anticipation. I'm still a "work in progress". I get up and down safely more often than not now, but if I let my concentration slip it isn't pretty... which is as it should be I think. Best wishes.
  6. Not a cheat. I'm not using it, and don't really see the need because I add / remove trim gradually as I fly to get the plane "right" for my current speed.... Hey, I have the trim controls mapped to a hat switch..... is that a "cheat"? :music_whistling: Now I did like the idea of air-to-air harpoons mentioned in an eariler post.... do you think that feature can be included in a future patch? :pilotfly: Best wishes.
  7. 1+ for fuel load as the culprit. With nearly full tanks, the Mustang is a VERY different plane, compared to with 50% fuel. Best wishes.
  8. Thanks jeffyd123, I'll give it a try. I'm just beginning to use the mission builder, so I do really appreciate looking at (and flying!!) the missions the more experienced folks are making. Best wishes.
  9. Thanks Invisibull, you have helped. I had only been testing it in single player missions, and just assumed it would be the same for multiplayer missions... I talked with one of my squad mates, and he explained exactly the same thing that you just did: For multiplayer, "Runway" starts actually place the player on the ramp engine running (I have still not flown online yet in DCS A-10C). I'll keep trying with single player, and if I figure out what I'm doing wrong, I'll post the "correct" procedure.... it is not really that big a deal either way, just was curious if it could be done. Thanks again, and Best Wishes.
  10. Thanks, but "start on runway" always results in starting on the runway ready for takeoff, unless I missed something. What I'm looking for is starting on the ramp, parked, just like with a "cold" start on the ramp, but I want the engines running and all systems "up", ready for taxi. Sort of like in Falcon 4, you can start: "Takeoff", "taxi", or "ramp start". "Ramp start" in both DCS A-10C and Falcon 4 is by default a "cold" start, I'm looking for a "warm" start. I'm trying to set up missions where the A-10's are ready to taxi, engines running, but still on the ramp. Best wishes.
  11. Greetings! Just getting started using the mission editor, and apologies if this has already been asked and answered: Can a "warm ramp start" be created using the "Prepare Mission" function in the mission editor? What I want to do for some missions is to start the player on the ramp, but with engines running and avionics all "up", and the A-10 ready for taxi. Has anyone had luck with this (more apologies, I tried it last night but apparently did something wrong and it did not work for me)??? Thanks, and Best Wishes. LeadTurn_SD
