Pimax and TrackIR Yeah, I approached Kevin Henderson about Pimax contacting the folks at TrackIR where TrackIR handles X, Y, and Z axis only, and as you said letting Pimax handle Roll, Pitch and Yaw for seated sims, like DCS, X-Plane, and racing. Henderson dismissed me offhand saying room scale was the goal, not seated, so it’s nice to see you have pursued the notion as well. I’ve had nothing but teasing moments of true 6DOF, THEN FRUSTRATING HOURS of losing the VIVE LIGHTHOUSE tracking and nothing I do gets it back. I’m sure the combo could be a stable 6 DOF platform. I still swear by TrackIR for 2-D....and it would be cool to collaborate on this Pimax/TrackIR possibility, especially when we TrackIR users have already invested $150 for head tracking. Great DIY solution… 1.what kind of connector is used? It looks like PC DIN connector BUT the pins are wrong, and guide slot is as well...IS IT PURCHASABLE...as What? ....or did TM create custom cable connectors (which I highly doubt)? 2. I assume the Gardena fittings are metric... Any US suppliers use metric style garden hose fittings? I broke my TMHW Stick connector, and Thrustmaster has no spares for it, either for the Wathog or the Cougar… really a BS situation!… They would only sell me a full TMHW flight stick handle for $116 shipped. ...trying for work arounds... Though I am likely to go ahead and purchase the spare handle ...Jonesin' to get back in the air! Cheers, Chas

Even with my seat wayyyy too high, the immersion is incredible with the OR CV1. Any suggestions how to lower my seat(Eye height) ...tried keyboard RCtrl+Rshift + Num2, ...started to get excited as my viewpoint got lower......then Stopped....Grrrrrrrr...still about a foot too high.... Same problem here...did In- place upgrade...over Win7 Pro. Ran prepared 3-D just fine but sure did miss my TrackIr...Reinstalled the 5.22 software, still "no device detected" Have you solved your TrackIr problem yet? Chas

While the presentation of a-10 is absolutely convincing, I gotta agree....wouldn't the inclusion of Nvidia's PHYSX be really cool to see the bad guys naughty bits fly to random kingdom come as our Mavericks and GBUs nail 'em?? How about the physics of a depleted uranium core traveling at 3500ft/sec hitting a turret, or concrete??? How about the lovely secondary explosions as the ammo locker cooks off...the visual possibilities are endless. EyyyyyyyyyyyyCandy as the just rewards for training so hard! Ranger, I gotta say that I can't wait to have the kinda fun you are having with your wingma(e)n, but I won't subject anyone to my lack of skills...yet... Tho I'd like to try out TARS with a fellow newbie. I am learning slowly from re-reads, and your, and Tyger's(your explanatory button by button exposition is wonderful, but you need to normalize your audio) and excessiveHeadspace's superlative videos. I have had Fraps since it's inception, and I noticed a folder in A-10 called movies....how the hell did Y'all get such superb video WITHOUT using Fraps during flight or on a .Trk playback. ...I would use the latter to keep up the "movie's" framerate... Is there another, better frame grabber? Please advise. Thanks guys! Chas

Yep, I've got the same AP problem with the first weapons training mission. Trainer says that he's engaged the AP....No Joy....and I tried doing it manually, but NG. Tried setting Alt/Heading....Hey....I've been flying FS since it was a bootable, wireframe program on the original PC....so I know how to engage AP in tons of other planes. I am hearing that there IS an envelope that must be satisfied, 5 degrees from level and over 200 Kts..but my Logitech Wingman Force feedback stick is having a heck of a time trying to even fly level...and I used MS Calibrate routine just before flying....I WILL try to satisfy the envelope, and report back....wonder how this is gonna be an issue when I get my Tmaster Warthog Hotas next week. And you feel guilty 'cause you STILL haven't memorized the cold cockpit startup....and you just bought the damned program last night...obsessed?....naaaaaaaaaa
