  1. Cosmo81 what are your pc specs out of curiosity?
  2. Hey Turbo! Stretch here, enjoyed the mission a lot the only thing that I thought could be added was another assault wave during the final construction of the base. In future versions you could even have one last major engagement once the base is built. Also I wasn't sure if it was because we lost all the other units in the convoy (I know that one was lost to an IED), or if you designed it that way, but maybe add just a humvee or two to the convoy so that once it advances through the city of Tianeti we have more to watch over than just a single Bradley. The mission is just fine the way it is, these are just suggestions to consider if you ever wanted to expand the mission length. Thanks for the great work looking forward to flying it in the future!
  3. thank you sir!
  4. This sounds like fun! heading to your forums
  5. I think it may be something like 2-3 weeks to ship to the U.S.
  6. Apologies, I was just referring to the illumination of the Waypoint Mode button on the PVI-800 when it is pressed. More often than not, it doesn't light up when pressed. So when activating a waypoint you press the Waypoint Mode button then select one of up to six waypoints, depending on which waypoint you want to use. Most of the time, I press the button and select my waypoint but the WP Mode button doesn't light up. This happens even when the PVI-800 is functioning properly. Other times, the light on the button will work, but when I crash and spawn in a new aircraft the button no longer illuminates when pressed. From what I've noticed its random and there is nothing that stands out as a cause to it.
  7. Is there any chance the Waypoint Mode button on the PVI-800 will be addressed in this patch? Its kind of a nit-picky thing to even bring up so its no big deal if not, was just curious.
  8. ok, for clarification what does "20 angels high hot" mean?
  9. is this something new/inexperienced pilots should shy away from? Or will we most likely be able to keep up with operations?
  10. Ah ok thanks for heads up EtherealN :)
  11. Definitely install on windows 7-64 bit. As for the manual it ships from the fighter colletion hangar somewhere in England, I think but could be wrong. I had the manual shipped to oklahoma and it took a month and a half before I had it in my hands. However, this could have been due to my dumbass apartment staff that lost it in their closet for awhile so I dont know exactly how long it took to reach me. The manual is very good quality except for the binding that keeps it all together. I started having pages fall out just a few hours after I got it. I recommend you take the manual to FedEx Office and have them put a coil binding on it. It functions way better and it was very cheap to have it rebound, only $5 to $7 to do so. Also If you want to play BS any time soon I would recommend just downloading it directly from their website and then just burn it onto a disc. I dont prefer steam cause you have to have internet to play it, dont you? Hope this helps, feel free to ask me any questions if you need. The manual was a good purchase in my opinion, its nice to have it in paper form where it can rest on your lap or something when youre flying
  12. thats extremely useful quicksilver, I wasnt even looking for something like that but I printed it out anyways =)
  13. Ohh ok I understand now, thanks Isegrim!
  14. I downloaded Dragon's Training Pack (already have modman installed) but I can't seem to actually find the training pack and install it. I unzipped the file and it goes to /C: directory but I don't know what I am doing wrong? Should the mission file just be placed in my Ka-50 folder or what? I am very new to this... sorry if this is a newbie problem.
  15. At least the avionics in the BS are a little simpler, think the greater challenge is maintaining controlled flight
  16. I can't help you too much cause I havin't actually played the game yet, still waiting to assemble PC. But, have you tried Dragon's Training Pack for 1.0.2? I think you have to play it on MP but if you just set it to a private game you can basically play it SP. Sorry if this doesn't help you... Heres the link: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=46354
  17. Okiedoke everything has been ordered off Newegg, just gotta wait for it to arrive... probably going to have a difficult time sleeping now haha! Just wanna say thank you one more time for all the input/feedback by everyone on this thread, never would have been able to figure this out without ya'll! Looking forward to beginning dcs flight operations next week (probably going to result in my grades suffering in my currently enrolled summer courses haha)! =D -Dakota
  18. Ok thanks sobek and Druid! I actually have some arctic silver from my last build, which I never ended up using, at least 5 years ago so I should still be able to use that right (I'm assuming that stuff doesn't expire haha)? What about these heatsinks that attach to the CPU that I've noticed a lot of people on these forums have in their systems? Is that a better way to go or.....? By the way here is everything I have decided to purchase for this new PC, I'm hoping this will handle both DCS sims on high settings (especially with the heat blur effect which looks fantastic): CASE: Cooler Master HAF X MOBO: ASUS Sabertooth P67 (REV 3.0) SATA 6 Gb/s PSU: Corsair HX Series 750W ATX12V 2.3 / EPS12V 2.91 SLI ready 80 PLUS SILVER CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K SB 3.3GHz RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1866MHz GPU: ASUS ENGTX560 TI DCII TOP/2DI/1GD5 GeForce GTX 560 Ti (Fermi) 1GB 256bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP ready (was a bit confused with this, but it should work right?) HDD: WD Caviar Black 1 TB 7200rpm SATA 6.0Gb/s OS: Windows 7 Home Premium - 64 bit
  19. I am just about ready to purchase everything I need for this build just want to get some feedback on two last concerns... 1) Do I need some sort of thermal paste for my CPU (i5 2500k) to help cool it better, I havin't decided if I will be overclocking seeing as how I have never done it before. However, I figure there are plenty of guides that can aid me in that. 2) The case I chose is a CoolerMaster Haf 932 that goes for about $150 but I noticed it has no filters on the fans... is this a big issue? Should I spend the extra $50 and get one that does have fan filters?
  20. Im jealous of you Impact - Im currently saving up enough cash to build a PC and after that I'll be saving up for an Obutto pit. Hope you enjoy the hell out of it!
  21. Ah thank you for that Yurgon!! So much to read up on, really exciting!
  22. I watch this video every morning to get my day started hehe
  23. Watching the part where he's shaving makes my hands sweat every time ha!
  24. lol noice!
  25. OK thanks ya'll I'll go with one of those then! My last question concerning this build (I hope) relate to the graphics card and the case. I'm going with the GTX 560Ti but its been so long since I've bought a graphics card that I noticed there are a ton of brands that all sell the same card... so should I go with ASUS or maybe EVGA? Also what are some good case brands? I'm gonna go with a full tower case if that makes a difference...
