  1. We made progress! I changed it to 1.0 FOV and the left eye came back! I quit the game and tried tried changing back to 0.8 and I noticed a notification in Meta Quest link that OpenXR was not enabled by default so I enabled it and relaunched DCS... the issue returned. So I went back to 1.0 FOV.... issue remained. I turned off OpenXR selectively in the OpenXR toolkit for DCS and the issue went away. Turned OpenXR back on and the left eye returned. I played with the turbo mode and max FR settings in OpenXR in VR, restarted DCS and all is OK still. So in summary... it was something to do with openXR, no idea what exactly but both eyes appear to work again

Hi, so I tried a couple of other things: - rolled back AMD drivers - no joy, still no left eye - Tried virtual desktop instead of Quest link - no joy, still no left eye The issue only happens with DCS. All other games and Apps work fine with both left and right eyes working normally. Any ideas?
  3. Thanks for looking into this. I use the Meta Quest link via a cable with the Oculus Tray Tool and was getting 75fps a couple of days ago without issue on the F16 free flight instant mission. I made the adjustments per the analyser but no joy. I have 64gb arriving tomorrow.
  4. 2 days ago I was in VR and tuning for optimal FPS. Started DCS up with same settings but now the left eye doesn't load... ish. On the initial loading screen both work normally but when i get in to the initial game menu the left eye is a dark grey (screen is on but nothing rendered). I launched an instant action free flight and its the same left eye issue except: - The launch mission menu - I can see unit name tags (blue and red) - the OXR fps counter overlay. Right eye appears normal rendering in the cockpit, landscape, aircraft etc the left eye doesn't. Any ideas? *tried repairing DCS... no joy dcs.log DxDiag.txt

  7. Is it possible to create and view the .tmc files and vice versus? I have a new GUI profile set up but I would like to work within the editor to tweak them and I also have a .tmc file that I would like to view in the GUI. Thanks.
  8. 3instein.... TIR is definitely worth the investment. If I ever upgrade from v4 to v5 you can have my v4 FOC. Unfortunately I don't have plans to upgrade any time soon but if I do it's yours.

  10. Grats ED team... sounds like a good patch and certainly worth the extra weeks wait. Just wish I could install and test it!!!! Work busines trips getting in the way again! :(
  11. with the exception of MP where unless u are the host TACAN doesnt work. Have to use AWACs and bullseye directions.

  14. For the first month or so!!?? Ive been playing this Sim since Beta1 and I've just downloaded this chart to stick on the wall as a reminder... very useful! :music_whistling: :pilotfly:
  15. We would just say a seized rotor for core lock. I may try introduce core lock as a term in our business though as we call a turbo without end housings a turbo core. Coking is the term used to describe the oil that has carbonised on the components due to the high temps. It looks like black powder but is nigh on impossible to get off of the parts when formed and acts as an abrasive. once it's there it's there for good and only gets worse :D Moral of the story... Don't do hot shutdowns with turbos or turbofan engines, especially those in the next DCS A-10C patch (or which ever the feature it is included in :D )

  18. I wonder if what Yo Yo is referring to is a Hot Shutdown. This is something seen in turbos when the engine has been running at max torque for a long period, usually exh temps can hit near 800c for diesel, and then the engine is just shut down. Heat then soaks through the turbo heating the bearings and the shaft which can then seize due to essentially the parts welding together. Thats the worst case situation but this also leads to oil coking on the components accellerating wear leading to bearing failure. In the turbo world you only have to do a few of these hot shutdowns to wreck the turbo. Now a turbo isn't exactly a turbofan engine but the principle is the with a comp connected to turn via a common shaft with a combustion system between the two. I guess with a jet engine the issue could be scaled up as they tend to have more than one common shaft.
  19. The default Key combo's wont work for me even though they are bound. I had to rebind to LShift and LCtrl keys (advice thanks to Strongharm).
  20. I said exactly the same thing last night in the 25th to a couple of the guys. I only drop the saturation on the pitch though as I dont have an issue with 100% sat on roll. You definitely need curve on both.
  21. Does the tanker have a wake that can upset the hog flight characteristics if your flying in trail a little high or level with the tanker?
  22. Was digging around in the loft yesterday and I found my original boxed version of Falcon 4.0 and janes F18 both with their manuals too. Made it so much easier to learn these games with the manuals training mission walk throughs.... i got admit it though I prefer Sam L Jackson talking me through it :D Guess it's time to print the hog manual now.

    If your attempt to patch is saying you need patch 1.1.0.5 before patching to 1.1.0.6 then you may have got bad install of the RC version. Reinstalling the RC and patching has worked for some so far.
