  2. Hey mate, I made the same thread, didn't see yours. If I figure something out I will let you know!
  3. Hi all, simple question. I'm trying to build a mission for WWII dogfighting, where the aircraft start in the air, and have a limited combat zone. To enforce this I am using a trigger to explode any aircraft that leaves the zone. However to prevent players from unknowingly straying out of the zone, I want to mark it by having AI aircraft fly around the edge of the zone with smoke pods enabled. I've also tried getting aircraft to fly around leaving contrails, however I've had no success at any altitude. Is there a way to achieve that, or is there a better way to create a dogfighting arena as I have described? Open to any suggestions, or similar missions that allready exist. Thanks!
  4. How do you enable auto prop pitch, is it on by default in a cold start? If so, if you flick the manual buttons, how do you go back to auto?
  5. Will test soon. So full throttle but what about the RPM setting / prop pitch ?
  6. Hi all, Me and a friend were comparing the 109 with the Dora last night, and the results surprised me especially in regards to engine performance and management. One test we were doing was comparing speed, with the Dora easily able to speed off without the 109 able to pursue. With the Dora you could open the throttle to max, put on MW50 and accelerate to close to 700kp/h flying level. The 109 on the other-hand barely could get past 500kp/h Pushing the throttle even above 50% (1.35 ATA / 25 RPM) would result in the engine seizing almost immediately, where as the Dora could just fly on max prop for what seemed like an infinite amount of time. (Never blew an engine during the tests) Note that this was done at <= 2000ft Is this realistic, a bug or am I just plain doing something wrong? Kind regards, Nybble
  7. Haha good to see you got the video uploaded :) If anyone here is from Aus and is keen to participate in similar antics to the above send me or SgtWorm a PM. (We also fly seriously, but a launch night deserves special attention!)
  8. He doesn't want to program the stick at all. Like myself he feels he should be able to plug in and start binding keys without installing any additional software. Both the joysticks offer more then enough keys and axis, and using software to create modifiers seems cumbersome and unnecessary, for me at least
  9. Cheers for the replies! I agree with the comment on TARGET, to be honest I uninstalled it an never looked back. You don't need it installed at all to get proper functionality of the stick. Anyone else got any thoughts? I don't think he's fully convinced yet....
  10. Hi all, As a proud owner of the Thustmaster Warthog, I come to you with a simple question. A friend of mine owns the X-52 (Standard, Non-Pro) and has been considering upgrading to the Warthog for some time now, due to the numerous issues with the Saitek. (Poor construction, connection issues between stick and throttle, bad software, to name a few) With three strong modules getting closer each day (Dora, Sabre, Fishbed) it's looking like we are going to invest some serious time into DCS over the coming months, and it would make sense to upgrade before they arrive so he's not relearning after changing setup. I suggested he picks up the Warthog soon so he can fully do the new aircraft justice, and complete the setup. He already has rudder pedals and a trackIR 5 as well. So I was just after some opinions from those who have owned either (or both) the X-52 and Thrustmaster, for some personal feedback on the devices, and what you would do in the given situation. That's all, looking forward to your responses! Kind regards, Nybble
  11. If you have a friend to play with, create a mission with two planes that air-start with gun ammo. I've done that a fair bit which get's your skills up quickly. If not create the same with AI but don't give them ammo and they'll try and evade
  12. Hi all, Here's a video I put together for myself and my mates that I fly with, just as something to look back on and laugh about. Figured I may as well share it :) <- Can't embed for some reason Enjoy!
  13. That's good to hear, I'm upgrading from a GTX480 I bought almost 5 years ago! Really looking forward to seeing what I can do on the new card :D
  14. Slightly off topic, how does the new card go with DCS? I just bought one should arrive in a few days and am hoping it pulls decent frames.
