  1. Hey guys, good morning. I'll get on that test in an hour or so Jeff. If the bluescreen doesn't occur with this new test what would you surmise? (concerned since I have the Thrustmaster WARTHOG coming)?
  2. Hey Jeff, I'll have to try that tomorrow as I'm on my OLD (2004) Dell XPS 2! If it doesn't bluscreen, what would you surmise? Do you think buying the warthog was a good investment? Do you think it will solve the problem or do you think there is some other deeper underlying cause?
  3. wait, do you mean directly plugged in, without the new external usB?
  4. the ONLY conflict seems to occur with a conjunction of both DCS and the Saitek
  5. i did contact microsoft on their forum, no response as yet
  6. Thrustmaster has always been a good brand ever since i can remeber (I'm 24 BTW) and it wasn't the the HOTAS X was terrible, it was just that programming was a COMPLETE pain in the ass and it just did not have enough buttons- I ended up with about 5-6 modifers alone that I just couldn't remeber. Hell, at the time I was intimidated by the cockpit startup training.
  7. hey Man, it just occurred to me you might have been serious...at the time I didn't think I could ever get a Warthog-I'm actually new to the sim community (not really, mid 90s stuff when I was a kid with my old beautiful Sidewinder 2). I really want to get back into it recently; I played Apache air assualt for the 360 (I'm also a console gamer; just got a new pc, last one was 7 years old) and I loved it, but could tell it wasn't a REAL simmer. I bought a basic thrustmaster HOTAS X (cheap, but with minimal buttons) after I had bought this. Then cichlidfan introduced me to the wonders of TIR and my bill has been on a steady climb ever since...LOL Now, though, a HOTAS Warthog man- if It weren't gay, I'd kiss my Dad, I still might :)
  8. Jeff- hopefully I'll be here when you check in tonight, please let me know what you think.
  9. alright guys, I'm now the soon to be proud owner of a Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog :) God, even writing it feels good! hopefully the difference between brands will solve the issue- I remember the thrusmaster worked but didn't have the number of buttons necessary for even a sense of immersion. If I get a BSOD with the Warthog, I think that'll be it- probably something internal to my system that might not be compatibile with Warthog (although it did fly for over an hour on autopilot with no stick in, so WFT)?
  10. Well, at this point I'm going to return the x52 and put the money toward the WARTHOG! :) :) :) :) The TIR functions fine in the USB port, so I don't see it being some kind of general USB malfunction- I think it must be a defective stick. Sound like a good plan, sound reasoning?
  11. well, sitck and TIR still plugged in (with TIR off)...still no BSOD
  12. Ok, I've had the joystick pluuged in for a couple hours, not running a game along with TIR, no BSODs- seems like it only occurs in conjunction with DCS A10-C
  13. I gotta get that warthog man; I dont think I ever got a BSOD with thrustmaster. I wish I could hear from you Jeff! Need to send out some kind of psychic signals here!
  14. my dad is actually willing to buy a WARTHOG! :) Would this solve the problem do you think (the LAST thing I want to do is waste that amount of money?)
  15. just tried amphibous assualt from ARMA 2 with trackir and saitek plugged into the external hub...no BSOD...is this just not going to work for me?
  16. can I try any game or does it have to be joystsick compatible?
  17. also, in your opinion would upgrading to the PRO model be worth it?
  18. can it by any game? I only have a-10 and blackshark and haven't even tried blackshark?
