turns out I didn't have minidump enabled- and my paging file was set to 0 mb. Gonna try the crash utility again.

everywhere I go it points to the mindump folder- I don't have it. I even crashed my laptop on demand with that utility and no minidump file or folder was created. Actually the only .dmp files I have are from old crash reports from games from a long time ago and unrelated.

please stop moving my post...I really need help I was getting excellent help with my BSOD problem before the moderators saw fit to move it to the pc hardware subforum. NOBODY is there, I am the only user- I really need help, if you won't let me post my problem in a place where people can see it, at least let me direct people to it. Please don't move this...it's the only way I have of getting help with my blue screen of death issue. :(

power state failure again...can't find my minidump files Hi guys, I had to take a lunch break. I'm on the laptop now, I downloaded bluescreen dump utility to give the report to the forum, but I cannot find my minidump folder- I have no such folder C:\Windows\Minidump. It doesn't exist, also blescreen does not show any minidump data. I am running windows 7 64 bit. I know my last thread was moved but there is literally no one in that subforum and I would really like to resolve this issue. please help! :cry: Thanks again guys, -CL

it's not in c\windows\minidump- there is no such folder on my system. Also, not sure what to do with the bluescreen dump viewer I downloaded.

downloaded bluescreen view but don't know what to do now- can't find the minidump file. It doesn't seem to be in that location. If it helps I'm running windows 7 64 bit.

I'm on the lappy now...gonna get those reports. I got the latop at the beginning of april. I doubt its a bad hardware component because the BSOD is just with this game.

by report you mean that bluescreen site correct?

I use a saitek x52 nonpro model and the newest trackir 5. The laptop is plugged in, the pc doesn't feel that hot when compared to other games- fans seem to be coolng the processors adequately. The pc is a new dell xps 15 (just came out). Haven't timed it, but I'd say the timing of the crash is pretty variable.

Hey guys so I've been loving the trackir system and the saitek, but i've been randomly getting a Blue screen of death saying power driver state failure! I can't seem to find any info on this. The problem occurs with no other game and I doubt its a hardware limitation as a just got a state of the art laptop with i7 qm2720 processors, geforce 540m with optimus technology, 8 gigs ram, etc. Can anybody help me- this is quite an irritating problem and I can't seem to figure a fix. I tried setting the battery to high performance settings and updating my nvidia drivers, and it worked for a while but then it happened again last night during navigation training. I'm at a loss :doh: So any and all help is very much appreciated. Thanks, -CL

well, I just tried it out an HOLY SHIT IS IT AWESOME! :XD If anyone is on the fence about this I really reccommend it- the level fo immersion increases by leaps and bounds. It does take some getting used to however, and I'm still fine tuning for the optimum angle but it is unbelievabley cool. If anyone is on the fence- don't be- pick it up!

so do you have any advice about configuring it or using it with a-10c/blackshark (which I bought but have yet to check out)? Nice quote there BTW...I can't wait till it gets here :)

so I took the plunge- ordered trackir 5 from amazon, I'll be trying it as soon as it arrives! I figured I'm really getting into DCS, so why not invest? Thanks for all the advice guys. :)

okay- one last question and I think I'm gonna get it- if anyone has any experience, does it work well with a laptop? I just got a state of the art one in april, so it's a pretty important thing to know.

cool- so the picture is the version WITHOUT the proclip right?

is it difficult to get the ir unit to mount on a laptop? and am I required to wear a hat WITHOUT the proclip- if I were to just purcahse the base unit?

I'm confused...I have to wear a hat to use the base trackir unit effectively? As in the $150 accessory also REQUIRES you to wear a hat to use it effectively?
