got another blue screen, will post the minidump- this was five minutes after I finished playing- I noticed my SF Jack Bauer Profile was not behaving as it should (shiftstate pinky key did not shift modes). I was trying to pull up the saitek profiling software to take a look- no response for five minutes and after multiple presses- finally came up with this minidump- I'll post below

hey jeff, I did do that to both of the USB hubs displayed in the device manager. i have one 3.0 USB, two 2.0s, but could only follow sungsams advice with two USB Root Hubs- couldn't find a third. Haven't beem able to create minidumps yet today (have yet to fire up A-10C). I'm gonnna have to go in an hour and most likely will be bsack by 5-6. I'm going to swing by best buy- could you perhaps suggest a really good, high quality powered Hub? thanks for the help Jeff!

good morning :). I'm going to get to working on this, but I'll be gone between 1 and 5 I believe today. I'll be swinging by best buy most likely, so I'll pick up a powered USB Hub. I'll start attempting to generate minidumps soon. In answer to your quesstion Jeff, yes, ARMA seemed to run fine- I'll test it more extensively today.

I'll try and get some more blue screens tomorrow jeff; right now I only have that one dump. ARMA ran fine- but I tried good morning t-stan from Operation Arrowhead. I didn't get to try it with the stick in- I will do that tomorrow. So no need to check in tonight- I'm gonna stop for the night on this problem. By dump files you mean the .dmp minidumps right? Right now I only have the one, but I'll try to generate more tomorrow.

ARMA II and Operation arrowhead both run fine with TIR- I accidentally had it turned off in the options somehow. I played a small amount with the joystick plugged in but was more concerned with the lack of TIR functionality (which was a result of my own stupidity). It does cause a bluescreen- it seems to be a 9f error. I have to stop soon- are you able to help me tomorrow? Like I said this is a state of the art Dell and was NOT cheap so this is pretty disheartening. I was thinking of investing in a good quality external USB Hub- do you think this is a good idea? I'll be working on this some more tomorrow- will test ARMA some more with the joystick but now it appears that the BSOD either occurs during playing or within 5 minutes of exiting the program. Whenever I get a bluescreen it is a POWER_DRVIER_STATE_FAILURE BSOD like you've seen in that one minidump file.

when I built the dell, I used all of the best hardware- it is literally the best of all the components available- much better than say Alienware, which is marketed for gaming- so the multimedia vs. gaming distinction is pretty moot. I just tried blackshark with the stick and track ir (no pro clip here man) and nothing bad happened- gonna try AMRA II again

1. The newest version of McAfee (subscription to auto-update) 2. I' bought A-10C from Steam and have had it since 5-13 3.Yes...lots and lots as this is a new laptop...many games, so old, many new, some games from GOG.com (good old games)...I've installed a lot of games...but never have had a problem like this before- it only seems to occur while I play A-10 or shortly after. 4. I installed what steam provided- I assme the 64 bit version for my windows 7 64 bit operating system. For sake of clarity: DCS A-10C Warthog file version 1.1.0.7 product version 1.1.47952.42 date modified 5/13/2011
