  1. ALE-39 has half the buckets that the 47 does and it is analog, not digital--so less value. Also, the lot 20 modeled here came with SMUG (SMS upgrade), RUG (RADAR upgrade to APG-73 from APG-65) and ALE-47 IRL. So it wouldn't make sense to make it an earlier lot jet. And jamming I think would be cool, but also hard to model given all the dynamics of it. I would think it would have to jam all enemy RADARs to be useful. What would be cool is having EA-6Bs or EA-18Gs to jam for a strike package, but they have enough on their hands and doubt we'll see that stuff for a long time as it is still pretty classified. Pretty much everything they model here is tactically, real-world obsolete in the sense it is not, nor never will be the "new thing"/cutting edge stuff. Not that most DCS'ers would care, or should as those things are a matter of national security. There's enough here and coming to make it real world enough. Want it more real world? Join the military and actually fly the things!!! Lol... Cheers, folks!
  2. Why would you go to In Flight Align? I always go to NAV when I get a good alignment and stuff seems to have worked fine. TBH, I haven't flown in a good bit of time, but IFA is not the position you want the switch in.
  3. Yeah, it's an NVME m.2 thingy... lol... I shall try changing it to E: drive on the updater. That worked (changed both from C : drive to E: drive--where the game is installed)--and only a ~1GB (I think) update! Thanks, Silverdevil!
  4. Here's a shot of my shortcut to open the sim--which works flawlessly. Should the the "Target" and "Start In" be the same in the "Update DCS World OpenBeta Properties"? It seems it should be, but not 100% sure.
  5. Should I change the "Target" in here to update E: drive or the "Start In" option?
  6. Is the new update 105GB? It may be going to my C : drive but I have the game installed on my E: drive. What's goin' on here? EDIT--This is for the OpenBeta--which I guess is obvious from my two responses...
  7. Yeah I think I have to copy the old "Saved Games/DCS..." folder from old C drive to new. How can I do that while still using the old computer? A thumb drive or something?
  8. Built a new computer, I copied my old SSD to my new NVME drive. Wondering how to make this work.
  9. In my experience, when you are turning final, you will be wiggling both throttles and stick to keep it where you want it. But don't expect perfection out of yourself, just fly and get 'er down in one piece. Keep flying the pattern and you'll get better and more confident. I don't mean to come across like I am talking down (because I am not, nor am I pro at this), but anytime you roll more level, your lift will increase, which means you will have to pull back the throttles. Anytime you increase bank angle, lift will decrease so you will have to add some power. Combine with potential winds or asymmetrical loadouts it gets more fun.
  10. I don't know how this was meant for, but I didn't disable Defender... Everything runs fine now!
  11. Adding the DCS folders (all) to exceptions in Avast and Malwarebytes did the trick! No stuttering in SP or MP. Man, it's good to have a smooth-running sim back!
  12. Dang... here I thought we had the SLAM-ER already...
  13. Got the same thing... I guess I'll wait until it is resolved to update.
