  1. DCS World 1.2.1.5970 Crashing on Connect... Again... Well Well, I hate to say I told you so, but with a new version the same problem is still here... Crashing to Desktop while attempting to connect to the master server and retrieve the list. Dont get me wrong, the new colored rocket motors, and sounds, explosions that help the fps go even lower are nice, oh and dont forget the way the text box now scrolls up, but I would rather have a game that doesnt crash while trying to connect. I realize this is being covered in another thread but really who wants to goto the end of 270+ pages and add to a lost cause. When ED said they thought it was fixed because it wasnt hapening on the verson they had how did they test this? Do they use the same servers, and all connections over the internet? How much of this testing is done on a private network or lan with a simulated master server? My opinon is well known to most of the moderators especially viper and all I can say is that each time this happens to me Ill be on this thread and make a quick remark, if you get tired of seeing my one liners, think of how tired I am with still having this problem 4 months later. FIX THE PROBLEM.
  2. Yup, its not the normal color.. It was a bluish green color. Same for Rockets.

  4. Thats funny, most of the time when I look on the server list its fairly empty.
  5. Something I dont understand is you were just complaining about the ctd's an then you turn around and poke fun at me for complaining about the same thing. Now with that being said there is a difference between a crash here and there, and the current state of dcs world. crashing on connect is just 1 part of the issue.. what about connection interrupted all the time. What about the servers falling off the master server list... which also happens to be the only reason that after a while the master server starts working again... ( because the ammount of servers is below the threshold that causes the crash.) How about general unstability of Mutliplayer, and the Master server? Its not like there is one or two problems. It would be nice if there were some answers on the other forum postings but they are just as silent about those as they were about this... Sobek sry if you think im trolling but its true.. look at the past releases from ED and they were full of bugs. Some minor, some not so much. I would much rather be in the pit flying around however I cant it crashes to often in multiplayer. In the end tho Opinion isnt wanted here. Only Constructive Feedback. So Great Job with DCS World and btw I love some of the changes that have been made including better cockpit reflections, cbu animations, new explosion look, the plane handling funny at really high speeds or while stalling. Plus many other countless things. I really enjoy my beta.

  7. Madone What state do you feel the current DCS World is in?? Im nothing feeling the slow and reliable at the time. Also I agree, Ed doesnt make it seem like these problems are important at all. You only get a response from ED when you ride their coat tails like crazy and hundreds of post start showing up in the forums. Wonder how many will still be around by the time Ed gets there stuff together ....
  8. Well, they are well aware of the problem , and hopefully they can do something similar to what you are talking about with the autoupdater... Its obsurd to have to wait 4 months for a patch to fix a problem that is quite a major one. Also feel like bugs are being pushed to the side in favor of releasing more products... Its not like this is the only major problem DCS World has. But in the end weeks go by with little to no word on anything and customers just get more pissed off.
  9. From the way I understand it once the ammount of servers goes over a certian number due to the bug in the 3rd party dll the game crashes. So the solution is to wait until the bug where servers no longer show up on the master list (seperate bug), once its below the crashing number we can all login again. They tried limiting the number of servers the master server would respond with to say 20, but this solved nothing and the game still crashed... they reverted it back to the normal setting... Hopefully they have actually found the problem and it gets fixed.
  10. It has to do with there being to many servers on the master list. They say its to a 3rd party dll and hopefully it will be fixed in the next patch.... read a few pages back.
  11. depends on how long it takes for the servers to fall off the list so that the ammount of servers is below the threshold that causes the crash...
  12. So far with the information we have been givin it happens when there are to many servers on the master server list. What seems to help is another bug where servers drop off the list and the problem semi fixes itself. Patching/del config files/msvcr100.dll reinstall does nothing, its in a 3rd party dll so all in all the problem sorts itself while others are trying there fixes... happens quite often and ed is aware of the problem and hopefully it will be in the next patch ....... and since none of the moderators will sticky it like we have asked i will provide a link to one of the several posts relating to the subject with a answer or two hidden inside it. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=92610&page=16

  15. We had different issues with quad 1 in multiplayer. Stability seems to have improved overall with world once it got out of beta but its kinda like picking the lesser of two evils. Both have there problems its just annoying having to pick versions based on how many servers are on the list. SSD's and 3 different installs can be done, but 128gb isnt alot. c0ff thanks for putting a smile on my face with the info... :)

  18. Im sure they have been burned before, but in the end this is only burning them more. What ever happened to patch notes? Keeping the community informed. Stickys that were upto date? If ed wants to know why people are getting pissed off how about the total lack of communication. You get one guy who says its not the master server but provides no other information and then finally a month later 3 lines are posted about the problem but its buried deep in a thread. If Ed expects customers to help reporting bugs and problems dont ignore them. Customer service cant get much worse imo. Viper I realise that you cant make me spend my money, but the stupid part is I want too. The catch is I wont buy a pile of junk when I know what it is. If I were 3rd party developers I would be concerned as well. As far as showing patience till the next patch... fine... but I have to say that nothing was being done about the problem until I got pissed enough to cc all the big wiggs and make a big stink about it in the forums. Then we got some information and the ball started rolling...
  19. Well I dont see how waiting months for the next patch to fix the ctd when droping cbu's is something that "a reasonable person cannot argue is not unreasonable." These are the types of things that reasonable people expect not to even be a issue when a product is released. It makes you wonder if they never droped a bomb once before the pushed it out the door. With that being said I have no problem with bugs and it taking time to fix them. I realize that 3 months doesnt put it up at the top of the list but in all fairness it should have been. Instead it takes something like 2 months just to find out ed is aware of the problem. Communication needs to improve considerably. If im left in the dark for months on end only to have some problems fixed and new ones arise whats the point. Now with all this being said are you saying I should expect things to start getting ironed out? After all you do finally have the modular system that is where you wanted to go, and an auto updater that is hopefully used more than every few months, which im hoping will also be released soon. As I mentioned in the post you locked down viper I cant see a reason to buy anything else while world is in its current state. If ED wants to make some money get it stable without the odd showstopping bugs and I would gladly buy just about any product that fits into world. Also patches to fix bugs that also create other bugs dont count imo. I would have been embarressed If I released a patch that ctd with cbu's. Yet stuff like this seems to be the half-norm.
  20. c0ff Ill clairify a little more.. When you limit the max ammount of servers shown to 20, and say our server is not on the list because its one of the > 20 that gets cut to keep from crashing how am I supposed to connect to the server??? Connect by ip is always "Connection Interupted."
  21. The auto updater will be a nice feature as long as ED doesnt push out a half finished product and then try fix it with auto update. I love alot of the features that Ed is working on but in the end, the same problems are still around. I realize Ed has to keep pushing out products to stay in buisness but in the end I still dont have an A-10 that I can fly in whatever enviroment that is without major bugs. Im not trying to harp on Ed over and over there product is one of a kind and would be the best in class if they just ironed out the problems that have been holding it back for quite some time now.

Look at most of the latest patches we have gone thru ... quad 1, dcs world beta 1, 2, dcs world final, all had some significant problems and the responses from ED are either vague and contain as little information as possible or simply have no answer. Im hoping the next patch will fill my glass up, but.....
  24. I could quote c0ff saying it wasnt an easy fix and would take some time to release a patch. However im guessing that since the problem seems to be fixed in the devloper build you are assuming the problem will be fixed when world is updated for fc3?
