  2. Hey guys, Can somebody pls test if the red JTAC can now be moved after dropped by a chopper? Thanks in advance. Greg
  3. Yes, M2K, F-5, Gazelle is also out and available only in the Blue side so most people want to try them out. That was known before start and that is why we didn't do a NATO vs RUSSIA concept before, even if it was asked many times. Attackers & Choppers were all available in both sides in the previous rounds and likely be in the next ones. But we don't want to keep the same concept each time just to get the same numbers in both sides. It's nice that each side will face different challenges on each round. It isn't certain that Reds will be less or lose though. They won under difficult circumstances in the past. Let's see the numbers during the official start as there are also many participants on vacation due to Summer. PS. RED FTW!!! :D Greg
  4. Round 8 is around the corner. Let's prepare our sides for the official start. Opened a thread for the Red side in the Blue Flag HQs. (http://www.buddyspike.net) Greg
  5. Nope. Said possible in a next round and only if we see and feel that it's possible. Greg
  6. Must be related with the general AI issue during taxi. Checking Greg
  7. IMO we don't need this change at the current phase of the campaign. The reasons are: - With the current setup we can't add waypoints on all aircraft and have only one in Sochi as reference. That removes much of a good mission planning. Fortunately some aircraft have this ability through their avionics. - The current Blue Flag setup has targets (except the airbases) on locations where you won't be able to find them easily some times if you don't know exactly your location. It is possible of course. - We try to bring each time features that may help improve the learning curve of the participants (like different loadouts/aircraft that will force you to change tactics, weather/night missions, cargo transport etc). This time we introduce the Simple Radio that can lead to better comms and more organized missions. Adding also the "no F10 map" feature will give pilots more problems to solve in just one session which won't be good. They already have now to work with Simple Radio, learn new modules (M2K, F-5, Gazelle etc), work with the new weapon/aircraft limitations, fly during night, transport fuel etc. - Similar to the above, GCIs will get more calls in Simple Radio or TS about aircraft location which will decrease the level of comms instead of improving them. F10 map will probably removed in a next round when we will think that it can be handled easily without issues. Greg
  8. Wasn't aware of a bug like this. What I can think of and check is if by accident instead of a AI MiG-29 there is a SU-27 AI as intercept. Will check asap. Thanks Greg
  9. Yes, it's a known issue that we check. Don't know if it's a general bug yet or something that we can change. Thanks
  10. Nope cause it must be a mistake. It should be only A-10Cs & F-5s. Thanks for the report checking. EDIT: fixed it was a slot named F-5 but the type was Mirage  Greg
  11. Organizing smaller groups is easier and a better start. There are also dedicated squadrons like the 373 in the Red side. Less than the Blue side but they are there fighting like yesterday over Maykop (btw Simple Radio helped a lot during the defence). Red side is getting better and tougher in defending assets. With time we will move on the offensive also. This was the discussion in the previous rounds but we did it in the end. Working of course to bring more people in Reds in the backround :detective:. Joined as GCI and really liked the COMAO that Blue side consisted as they attacked Maykop & Gelendzik. Even if the final attack failed it was a nice coordinated mission. Greg
  12. Got them in the to do list and checking the issues before the round start. Greg
  13. -Added more Mirage 2000C slots to Blue airbases -Changed Mirage 2000C skins (French) Changes will occur after mission restart. Reminder: Simple Radio IP changed to: 5.189.162.17 Please use this one during the test session. (The map shows the old ip. Will change asap)
  14. Yes. Please wait inside the server for 5 minutes joining.
  15. Will tweak more the slots asap. Greg
  16. Yes will change the skins asap. For now: - MiG-29S added to Krymsk - F-5E replaced M2KC in captured airbases *Changes will be on after mission restart. Simple Radio IP changed to: 5.189.162.17 Please use this one during the test session. (The map shows the old ip. Will change asap)
  17. Will do. It's an easy task like 10 minutes to change them. But wanted to see how f5 performs first (possible stability issues etc). It's only 1.5 days that it's out. Currently dealing with some server crashes that presented in the last sessions. Greg
  18. Didn't quote all your post but I agree with your points. As Etherlight also said there are different kinds of players out there. Our goal with Blue Flag was from the start to get the community together inside a Dynamic campaign and not make this a smaller squadron based campaign as we did this already in the past (and possibly do this again in the near future in a different version). You can see that there is a great number of players that learned through the rounds things like brevities, SOP, tactics etc. At the same time people that want a more casual procedure, coordinated with others and learned also things even if they kept it more simple. Besides, if you want to succeed in Blue Flag you have to work together with your side players. Simple Radio standalone is something new and even if it uses the same concept with the other Comms software out there, it can be used easier from much more players. So our goal at this point is to get people familiar with the process and try to motivate more to use it by showing its potential. Enforcing it will be bad as you can't and don't like to enforce things in a hobby. Greg
  19. Ah sorry that was already in. They are in the FARPs. Please check them if they are ok as they use the ramp on ground feature ;)
  20. Server updated to latest patch. Added F-5E to blue side. As it's still in Alpha stage we will check any stability issues during our testing sessions. Greg
  21. And then you won't cry anymore but MiG-21, M2k, chopper pilots will cry cry no more wanne play :D Seen this before. There isn't and won't be any setup that will fit to all players. That's normal. Some people were asking Nato vs Russia concept and now we have it with these specific restrictions. In the next these restrictions will change and will change and change again in the future events. Back then, there were even people asking for having all modules available in both sides to get it totally balanced (but even then it won't be as a side might show up with more active pilots etc). Round 5 was the best for some players and for others was the worst and so on. Personally I like getting a concept from the ones that organize an event and work with it and with the tools I get. It's challenging and interesting even if you finding hard to adjust in some scenarios and possibly lose. Greg
  22. Couldn't say it better  We try to bring different concepts each time. Nothing will ever be perfectly balanced but each side has advantages and disadvantages. Sides can plan different tactics when they are outnumbered on specific timezones, other tactics when they are more, different attack methods based on their targets and aircraft availability etc. That's the goal of the campaign. We think that it's better spending time to find the best tactics for your side instead of arguing about what the enemy has and what shouldn't have. And if someone compares it with real wars, well the fighting sides have no option to ask the enemy of not using specific weapons. Let's enjoy what we have :smilewink: Greg
  23. So we reached the point where we are close to the F-18 but worry about the concept of blue flag. Good good let the rage flow through you :D
  24. It's in the to do list that you quoted. It needed testing before going out public for this. Greg
  25. During the testing phase we moved on some changes/additions that you propably noticed already : - Added Comm Arrays - Added Simple radio icons & support on the Campaign's real time map webpage (http://gadget-buddyspike.rhcloud.com) - Tweaks on aircraft slots (numbers etc) - Tweaks on ground units positions - Tweaks on aircraft skins - Replaced ZU-23 emplacements with Shilkas - Removed all Mavericks except the D version Comm Arrays They consist new groups that include EWRs, Air defence units & Armed Houses. Their purpose is to provide better picture to Ground commanders as they are placed in locations that had blind spots before. Both sides can capture them as all other assets (Airbases, FARPs, Cities). Simple radio: Ciribob is on fire fixing issues reported and adding features in the Radio software. It's a great addition for the campaign and we highly recommend everyone to use it during the sessions for better immersion and to get more numbers in for better testing. Each pilot connected in the server & in the radio can see a "headset" icon next to his callsign in the map (http://gadget-buddyspike.rhcloud.com/). Our goal is to provide a frequency SOP so that communications will be more organized during the round. To do: - Add Gazelle L version in FARPs - Tweak helicopters slots in airbases (Will add Gazelles to Gudauta too) - Tweak AI airbase refueling process - Provide the frequencies that both sides will use in Simple Radio during the campaign (ATC, GCI etc) - Update the SOP pdf file Greg
