  1. but it does take a little time to pick the right thing with the right price. anyway, good luck.
  2. i think it's bc you are using su27's power to push f16's body, of course it can pass mach 1 easily.
  3. sorry, dude, always got confuse with these two, i did something similar in the past, just couldn't remember them. i'm still learning this language. but thank you very much, i hope this experience will make me clear it out forever. oh, btw, everybody is welcome to correct my writing, i rather mess up and learn here than embarrass myself in the future. thx again!!!
  4. thx! i knew the unrealistic things, just didn't think it's on that extend.
  5. one question about the auto acquisition modes which are the vertical and boresight modes. in lomac, the auto mode is no matter what, a target goes into the scan zoom, the radar will automatically lock it up and good for a missile shot. but anywhere else, such as in all the movies i've seen, the fighter pilots have to either manually lock it up or something like wait for the second lock, i don't know what is it, for example such as Top Gun, Macross Zero, and X-men II, in these movies, on the hud of the f-16(in X-men), f-14 (in Macross), within visual range, it's like there is a box around the target on the hud, but there is also another designator thing is following the target's movement on the hud, and til the designator falls on the target, then there is a lockon and shoot cue, the close combat lockon is a lot more complicate than the f-15, mig29 and su's in lomac. same with Top Gun, it seems like everytime they have to manually lock the targets up in close range? it takes those pilots for ever to get a lock even in close range, see how long tom cruise has follow his bandit on the rear and just trying to get a lock, if it's in lomac, the bandit should be gone ages ago. i know maybe the old fighters are like that before the auto acquisition mode come out, but f16? is it just a hollywood thing that makes air combat cool or it's something that's not model in lomac?
  6. BTW, one more tip, you can't really beam active radar missiles such as the R77's or AMRAAM's, bc their positions change all the time.
  7. :helpsmilie: did a little :book: , but couldn't find the answer. forgive me if it's already been answered and my inability to search. :( what's the middle pylon under the centerline of the a10 for? in the game, you can't add any weapons or pods there.
  8. is there a central website for all F4 addons? like lockonfiles.com for LO.
  9. i heard that FO wants to similate the real pilot career as close as possible, so it only has the training aircrafts first. however, in the real world, you don't get to choose what aircraft you are going to fly, the military will assign one to you according to your score in flight school and its needs. so do we get to choose what aircraft we are going to fly or the FO community is going to assign us one according to our performance?
  10. how many aircrafts are planing to be flyable in FO? are there going to be russian birds or just a pure US thingy? i even saw F22's in the screenshots, what's the story on that? BTW, nice video satan.
  11. went through the FO website, holy smoking, that project really rocks. the detail of the aircraft already got me excited, just can't wait for it to come out. but just as pilotasso said, it seems a little too good to be true that it will come out at the end of this year. in the screen shot section, the latest ones are in feb but those are still modeling objects. does FO have AFM? and i saw there are D models, those are two seated aircrafts, how do we suppose to pilot that? (didn't have time to read it thoroughly, just want a quick answer) but still, best wish for them.
  12. No IFF for F16? and the main problem with the graphic is the feeling of materials of the airplane. they don't look like metals, instead, rather glass or paper made. there is no thickness feeling, and the afterburner, and the water vapor....but the terrain is ok.
  13. the toning of the pictures is awesome. it gives a lot more realistic feeling than the original color. i hope LOMAC can have that type of coloring without editing.
  14. fighters ops? i haven't heard that, forgive my ignorance. can anyone give me a quick summary of it or a link to some good websites with its descriptions will do too? thx.
  15. Ok, couple questions: "your landing gear will act as made of glass" by Pilotasso what's that mean? they are very easy to break? 99% kill under 25km? Mmm, is that mean if i can dodge AMRAAM in F4, my missile evading skill will improve tremendously in LOMAC. and avionics, is it way better bc the modeling or bc F16 is more advance in avionic than the Fighters in LOMAC. so as a conclusion: if some how we can get LOMAC and F4 combine, LOMAC's graphic, aerodynamic modeling, F4's avionic modeling, dynamic campaign, and plus F16 flyable. then we got a hell of a sim, right?
  16. thank you guys for all your helpful advices, i think i will give it a try.
  17. how do you guys feel about F4 comparing to LOMAC, from what i heard, the flight modeling and the realism are similar to LOMAC, some even said it's more complicated than LOMAC. from the Ads, they said the graphics are good too, but i don't see that in the screen shots. the screen shots compare to LOMAC are realy not very pleasant. do you guys think if i enjoy LOMAC, i will find the same pleasure in F4 or otherwise? can some one tell me some advantages and disadvanges (besides i can fly the F16) of F4 compare to LOMAC so i can decide whether i want to go through the trouble or not. thx! :pilotfly:
  18. 1.12a, even with the ghost spike issue. as long as i stay online, it's fine.
  19. god! Killer, i thought i beat you on the length! damn!
  20. for a2a, general speaking, besides improve in evading missile skill and learn the basic stuff, no other skills especially offensive skill can be improve by playing offline. and for evading missiles, if you can deal with 3-4 expert Su27/33/30 or Mig29 full loaded, you are more than qualify for flying online to expect a positve kill ratio. unless you are very unfortunate to face pilotasso or ice all the time. usually capable of againsting 2 is plenty enough to start online experience, but may seems to be frustrated sometimes with a negative kill ratio. even just 1, you still can go for it if you are motivated enough to stay in a optimistic view when being shot down hundreds times without a single kill. one thing is that you will learn a lot faster and enjoy it 100 times more if you play online. that's just my experience, but i think most of virture pilots if they got hook up with LO, they start fly online right away. i end up fly online after 2 years of playing offline, but my reason is before my computer can't login to HL if i'm operating under the chinese un-union code environment. and it's very frustrate to restart computer every time if i'm playing LO, so i rarely played online, maybe like once a month. however, after i finally came up a solusion for that, i jump in right away, which was last month considering i started LO in late 2004, that's long. at the beginning i only can down the newbees and some average guys by my offline skills, however, after i found out that i can't play people in the way that i'm playing AI and adjust to the environment in days, i placed more than above average in the 169. the highest rank i've achieved is 8th in the 169 with some kills on some of the best pilots, although they kicked my ass the most time. in school system since i'm a hardcore student, i say i started a low C and went up to a mid B in days in the scale of pilotasso and ice as being perfect. but i think i've missed tons of fun for stay offline so long. if you need more encourage reasons, here they are: 1. the real engaging skill you only can learn online. AI's are so predictable, Rmax lauching, one shot at a time, pattern decoying, and no sneaking whatsoever. people don't do those things, they make mistakes, and they take advantage of your mistakes. and one more thing the AI don't do, they use runing away as tactics, that's not bad, it's one of the things can get you frastrated and make more mistakes. 2. the main thing: fun and real. offline, you play head on head engagement most time, since AI has God's SA, you can't take advantage on the radar weakness. but in the real world engagement, things are more than just head on head. people are sneaky and creative, that's what online can offer, the complexity. 3. the more important thing: more fun and real. offline, you can do hardly anything with your wingman, for me, besides some basic tactics, my AI wingman is more like a distractor or a fire bait that allow me to do more thing when it's been shot at. although there are some legend pilot out there can operate their wingman beautifully to accomplish things. for me, i don't know how to do that by just using very basic and simple commands. the only easy done and effective tactic i have so far is bracket. online, that's another story. plus, if you get the chance to fly besides some of the veterans, not only you can learn a lot, you also can make some kills and servive longer for your self-esteem. bc my family rules (i don't wanna mention here), and my upcoming busy summer and senior year, i have to put LO away. but last month was a hell of experience, in a positive manner. that's just my experience to share, hope it can motivate you enough to jump right into online rather thinking of how to improve yourself better enough for online with offline training. basically, all this is just a long story of telling that i pretty much had done the same thing in the past as what you are doing now.
  21. not trying to be sarcastic, but the AI's suck at evading missiles, and their manuveries are very predictable, they fire missile at Rmax, and always one at a time, unlike human, and the way they use decoy is very ineffective, although they do have God's SA, but BVR doesn't matter that much. usually practice against 4 AI's at the same time if you play offline, because 1 v 1 using F-15C, or any A2A flyable fighters against any of the other AI's in LOFC, that AI is going to hell without question, that should be 100%. try to play online if you can, you will find out after that play against AI is very boring. the 120's suck bc it's very easy to lose track when it gets close at low altitude, especially if the closure rate is very fast, plus people are very good at evading missiles, usually you either are very lucky or againsting some newbees if you have just used less than 3 120's to have a kill, especially going against the mig drivers.
  22. holy smoking! couldn't believe it! look at this!http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/05/10/dual_41_ghz_cores/ if it's real as they say, then i think i just wasted $400 on upgrading my system. please prove me wrong.
  23. so far i don't think it's going to fix it in my machine. i and ironhand had tried everything, i mean literally EVERY posible way that two humen can think of to fix it, he even sent his entire copy of lofc to me; i even did a fresh install of my entire system. nothing works. eventually we gave up. so i still flying single with ghost spike. but the good thing is i'm flying online now, so it doesn't matter. BTW, give special thanks to Ironhand's huge contribution to attempt to help me with my problem. that thing did cause him lots of troubles.
