  1. You are correct. I had changed one of them and because I was getting so frustrated with things not working, I just kept making the same mistake over and over without knowing it. The default is "no event". Anyhow, thanks again for your help. We ran the mission last night with 6 of us and everything worked perfect. I did change some of the parameters. I got rid of all the messages stating the hangers being destroyed each time in favor of just one message when all were gone. Same with what you did with the transport planes.
  2. Even with the AI that are led by a human are a real problem. They guy we fly with leads a group of F15's and they are always on the burner regardless of altitude and even if they're flying normally (not engaged). The AI just suck at fuel management. I've run into the same problem myself when I've done some of the caned missions. They always run out of fuel half way through the flight.
  3. Wow, thank you for the quick response. I'll check it out this morning. BTW, why do they have in there "On Destroy" as the default setting? It seemed logical to me that it would be the normal setting. What do you use that for normally. Also, when I tested the mission I was destroying the ground vehicles about half way through their route so they never made it to the safe zone. Maybe the "On Destroy" problem was messing that up too. I had the flights delayed intentionally because some times it takes the AI flights a little time to stabilize but I'll leave it the way you set it for now. I do have another question though, is there a way to get the AI aircraft to manage their fuel usage better with MIST. The F15 pilots especially are always on the burner and they run out of fuel all the time.
  4. I've been pulling my hair out on this one. I'm new to mission building and I just built this mission. There are 6 triggers that should state that the hangers (bunkers) have been destroyed one at a time and "all" after all are destroyed. There's also a transport vehicle group and after all 6 vehicles have been destroyed you should get a message. The other triggers tell you if you destroy the transport airplanes successfully. First problem is that I get the message stating "good job taking out the flying transports" after I destroy one of the hangers (bunkers) for chemical weapons. Second problem is that I get the message stating that the vehicles have been destroyed so that part works OK but right away after that I get a message stating that they made it to their safe zone at the airport. I'm very confused and don't know what I'm doing wrong so any suggestions would be appreciated. BTW, I added the MIST LUA file into the beginning of the file to test it out but it's not being used currently. I'm still reading up on how to use it.
  5. OK, great, thank you for that answer
  6. We run a dedicated DCS World server. Actually it's my server located in my office but it only runs DCS world. Also, I'm new to mission building in DCS but I didn't see anything in the builder to specify a structure being destroyed. Where specifically is that located, probably in a drop down correct? So MIST will work for hosting MP missions on this server? What about stability or compatibility issues with DCS World?
  7. I want to start using some of the scripting tools. It looks like SLMOD has some issues regarding compatibility with DCS World updates but that MIST requires a bit more knowledge regarding writing code. I'm more than willing to learn the ins and outs of MIST if it's a better way to go regarding compatibility. Is is it better to use MIST? I want to keep the scripting down to fairly basic operations. Mostly allowing for situations where buildings or structures need to be destroyed and the pilot needs to know if this task has been accomplished and managing messages or allowing AI ground units to move at will. Nothing else that I can list here quickly but I don't need super genius flexibility.
  8. Yeah, I had read that before but I decided to not post anything there because it's really not pertinent IMO. It's pretty well known that the sound inside the cockpit is muffled out by headphones and helmet gear. I just liked the way it sounded before and I wasn't sure if they intended to nix it completely. IMO, I don't think they intended to do that but who knows.:music_whistling:
  9. Engine sound inside cockpit missing now. Thought it was a feature but apparently not according to what I've been reading here. Cockpit illumination switches rotate past their stops now. If you use the mouse wheel to rotate the instrument illumination knobs, they will go past the stop points and rotate completely around. Wasn't doing this before. If you try to change the volume on the VHF AM radio, the sound cuts out completely. I rotated it back to the initial setting and got the sound back but this is a really bad bug and absolutely needs fixing. If you rotate the volume knob on the RWR past a certain point the volume drops out completely. I rotated it back a little bit and got the sound back again.
  10. That would make sense but I'm assuming that it's the most accurate way to determine it anyhow since the on-board computer calculates everything based on aircraft sensors and GPS information. Probably a lot more accurate then any other data available.
  11. Thank you very much for pointing that out to me. I feel kind of dumb that I didn't see that it was displaying the current direction/speed/temp all right there in the LASTE screen like you said. I guess it's easy to oversee stuff some times. Anyhow, it works great and yes that will help a ton in the future and especially with dynamic weather in effect.
  12. I started working with LASTE and I need to know how to determine weather without having to open the file in the mission builder. Some mission builders give specific weather information in the briefing but what do you do if it's not there? Is there something in the map that can tell you the necessary information to input into the LASTE settings?
  13. I grabbed all of the files and folders in the C:\Users\MyName\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input folder and copied them onto a spare drive so that I could re-install Windows hoping that I would be able to restore the settings. Unfortunately DCS doesn't recognize the restored folders so I have to rebuild all my input settings from scratch. Am I doing something wrong and is there a way to restore my settings? I did not export the profiles from DCS World.
  14. I want to set up the text when someone joins our server so they see "Welcome to our server, visit us at www..... etc, etc". Is there a place to put something like this in a configuration file? I've noticed that some people put that into the mission briefing text but I would like to have something come up all the time instead of just when the mission is selected. Sorry I keep posting here. I should have put this in the "multiplayer" section. I realized it after I saw the other one was moved.
  15. Got it, thanks! That's frickin' awesome.
  16. Thanks that was a beautiful suggestion. I can't believe how nice that works and it's free!
  17. Never mind, I figured it out. Doesn't Teamviewer require that someone on the server end be there to log the remote person in? I appreciate your suggestion but I'm looking for something that can be used to manage the server remotely without my needing to be there. Unless there's an option to allow someone to log in to the system remotely that I wasn't aware of.
  18. I just set up a remote server with Windows 7 64 Pro. It's not going to be a public server, just one for people in my squad. I have read a bunch of stuff about managing it remotely. I can manage it here in my office OK but I want to know the best way for remote management. There are going to be a few guys in the squad that will be trusted to load missions and to restart the server remotely if that's possible. One of the suggestions was to use Windows Remote Desktop. Is that the best way or what is another way? Also, where is the information for setting up ability to vote on missions to change them. I don't know if that is necessary if we're going to do remote desktop but I would at least like to read up on it. Thanks in advance.
  19. Thanks, that's what I need. UPDATE: Worked perfectly. I'm back to 1.2.7 and will stay there until all the bugs for 1.2.8 are fixed.
  20. I think most people understand what I mean. When it comes up with the updater I just assume that it's a working patch and allow it to update. I would still like to see a way to turn that off. Is there access to the older working version of the world core or a way to roll back? I would like to uninstall the entire world core and go back to a stable version. The last stable download version I have is 1.2.2
  21. I'm very disappointed to be frankly honest. I've been flying a lot lately with a couple friends and this new 1.2.8 is really bad now. They have all sorts of problems joining and there are a lot of graphical glitches. I took a bad frame rate hit when I'm near a lot of objects now. Some of the cockpit buttons are not working like they did before in A10. One guys multiple screens won't work now because it broke the program that he uses. I would like to see an option in the settings to opt out of automatic updates or at least the beta. I don't like the fact that when I started the game last week that it automatically started to download 2.7 GB worth of crap in my opinion. I would like to be able to roll back to the previous working version and have the ability to wait for the next patch to be stable before I download it instead of being a Guinea Pig.
  22. He's not having the problem any more or at least hasn't mentioned it lately. I've been working with him to fly without labels anyhow. We were just using it temporarily as a training aid. Thanks!
  23. Just updated to 1.2.8 today and it looks like some bugs have been introduced. When I use the mouse to turn up the instrument lighting I go to use the rotate mode and all the knobs snap to full intensity now. They weren't doing that before the patch. Also, one of our squad mates has a red x in the HUD from using his mouse and his Track-IR views get all messed up. There's also a bug in the configuration screen on the first panel. When I try to enter my screen resolution and aspect ratio I get a gray box around the values and it won't stay set like it did before the patch.
