  1. Is it possible that a video card setting could be causing this problem?
  2. Here's his text from the file: -- Label parameters -- Copyright © 2004, Eagle Dynamics. 3. OK thanks, I'll get that file text posted ASAP. I think he said that it was happening with both air and ground units but I'll get that posted too.
  4. There's no need to get snippy about this. I'm referring to ED developers. I see lots of questions asked and very little response from any of the developers. I also see extremely poor response times on the official DCS site for trouble tickets. There's no excuse for such poor response. There are obviously areas on this forum that were specifically created for customers to give feedback on problems and request community and ED support and I see very poor response from ED mainly. My message is mainly to ED. Fix this problem please. We all love this DCS World and the modules but we hate your slow response rate.
  5. Thanks, I never saw that drop down.
  6. Are you guys not bothering to read the forums any more. I post questions and they sit forever with no response. I know you're busy but don't you have time to read the feedback from your customers any more? Also, why is everything in Russian with no way to set it back to English?
  7. I'm trying to help a friend of mine learn DCS. His labels are on but he can't see the dots indicating the locations of units until he's right on top of them. I can see just the dots from about 11 miles out. He can't see them until he's about 3.5 miles from them and then he sees the distance part of the label. Please tell me what could be causing this. Thanks!
  8. Skins and radio problems fixed. Thanks for all the great responses and suggestions.
  9. BS2 in DCS World is amazing. I was a huge fan of Janes Longbow and this really gets me back into the heli-sim world like I never expected it to. It's not anything like the Apache but a whole lot of fun. I love the immersion of the fully click-able pit.
  10. **SKIN PROBLEM FIXED** OK, I was able to fix the skin problem. Friedric, I'll explain to you how to fix it on Thursday or you can do it yourself if you want to. It turns out that my ka-50_general.zip file had been the wrong one. Fortunately DCS World makes a backup of the file and it's easy to replace. I just used the oldest version to roll back to and it worked fine. It can be found here in the game backup folders: Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\_backup.000\Bazar\World\ka-50_general.zip (your backup folders might be number differently) Copy it into this folder (overwrite the other one as it's corrupt anyhow): Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\World\textures If you don't have any of the DCS backup folders here's a copy of mine. It's an unmodified version from the last module update. KA 50 General Textures File
  11. Also Friedric explained to me that he has a German keyboard and he can not assign the keyboard or joystick to the SPU-9PTT in the keyboard settings which is normally set to "Ralt+\". In "game" mode it's there but not in "sim" mode. He has a HOTAS Warthog control with Saitek Combat Pro Pedals. What's weird is that the command can be assigned to any of the axis in the rudder pedals. He asked me to post this as he wasn't sure how to post it in English.
  12. Friedric and I have been flying together and we have a couple problems we can't solve. The first one is the skin problem. I've tried downloading a new version of the ka-50_general.zip but that only fixed part of the problem. I've also tried to combine some of the files in the zip folder into one but that only got rid of the total orange skin but didn't fix the rotor blades, pilot an some of the other objects. I know that the skins can vary due to who wrote the mission so this one is called "Sanbox". **SKIN PROBLEM SOLVED** Second problem is with the radio. We're both on the same frequency and the correct one for the airbase but I as flight lead can communicate with the tower but Friedric can not.
  13. Is it possible to turn down the explosion effects. Every time I fly over explosions, smoke and fire my frame rate drops drastically. I found this in the options.lua but turning down the effects didn't do anything. It was set to 3 and I set it to 2. I normally get 35-40 and it drops to 15 over exploding targets. ["multiMonitorSetup"] = "1camera", ["color"] = "32", ["preloadRadius"] = 30000, ["heatBlr"] = 0, ["scenes"] = "high", ["water"] = 0, ["fullScreen"] = true, ["disableAero"] = true, ["visibRange"] = "Medium", ["treesVisibility"] = 3000, ["aspect"] = 1.6, ["haze"] = 1, ["HDR"] = 0, ["TranspSSAA"] = false, ["textures"] = 2, ["cockpitShadows"] = false, ["shadows"] = 0, ["effects"] = 2, ["MSAA"] = 2, ["height"] = 1200, ["sync"] = false, ["shadowTree"] = false, ["civTraffic"] = "", ["width"] = 1920, ["clutterMaxDistance"] = 0, ["lights"] = 2,
  14. I would love to see someone make the AH64D Longbow Apache as a module.
  15. Looks like I'm not alone in experiencing this problem. Just for the record I still have BS2 1.1.1.1 installed and fly it once in awhile. I do not have a very high end video card setup as this is an older MB and can only support my ATI5770's but in 1.1.1.1 I get 30-35 FPS just about anywhere but when I run the exact same mission in DCS World I get 10-12 FPS. I did run the autoupdater so the installation is current and I uninstalled 1.2.0 before installing 1.2.1. It seems like with every update my frame rate drops in half so I haven't even been able to run DCS World at all. Hopefully this will get resolved soon.
  16. Hi PeterP. I had already done this before and confirmed that the movement is happening only inside the DCS Program. When the rudder and stick jam to the left, nothing happens in DX Tweak at all. I even went ahead and renamed the config>input folder and let DCS create a brand new one like you've suggested and DCS help suggested. I had to go ahead and remap all the inputs since everything was gone but it did absolutely nothing to fix the problem. Something is happening inside the program and not external in my controls. All this testing has confirmed what I've suspected all along. I don't know what else to do at this point.
  17. I've had the CH HOTAS setup for about 7 years now and I've been using the CH control manager software for as long as I've had them. I use it for programs that have multiple controller limitations but for something like A10 and BS2 it's not necessary as it recognizes multiple controllers. I don't believe it would help anyhow as you're combining the button presses into one DX configuration file but the Axis' are all still separate analog devices. I appreciate your willingness to offer the suggestion though.
  18. I'm really starting to lose my patience over this issue. I've done everything you've asked me to do. I even deleted all the controller files and rebuilt them from scratch. I posted my problem to DCS support and they're basically ignoring me. I've paid a decent amount of money to purchase all the DCS stuff and this problem makes them unusable for the most part. I don't know what to do at this point other than just trash them and not bother with them any more.
  19. I tried renaming the "input" folder and when I started up the sim everything was blank.
  20. This first picture shows my control setup for BS2. It recognizes my pedals but it HOTAS Warthog for the stick and throttle. This second picture shows my A10 setup which recognizes all my CH controls. Is it possible that this is causing some sort of conflict in the program? When I operate the buttons and axis' in BS2 control setup they all function normally. If it is the root of the problem, how do I get BS2 to show the correct controllers in the list? I obviously can't copy the LUA files from A10 into the BS2 folder as the functions are all different. Will what you stated in your previous message reset or initialize the controllers so they show up in the file list? I don't mind taking the time to write down all my control settings or printing out the list if this is a step towards a solution. Updated Notes: All of my control settings were stored in the "CH PRO PEDALS USB.lua" file even though they showed up under the control setup in separate columns.
  21. Done, I saw what you meant and deleted those binds but it didn't make any difference. Thanks for the suggestion though.
  22. OK, I checked and I know what you're referring to. I had previously deleted any key strokes that were associated with all of the axis so the arrow keys are not being used any more.
  23. OK, finally reporting back on this issue. Video cards and drivers are definitely not causing the problem. It did the same thing with the Nvidia card and my Radeon cards. I'm getting really irritated about this problem now because I love doing these sims but the controls screwing up really burn me. I don't understand why I'm having this problem in DCS stuff and nothing else. I did a simple unscripted mission this morning which is basically a take off, fly the waypoints and land. You can see in the track that the controls messed up badly before I even took off. The Cyclic jams hard to forward and starts me cruising across the tarmac and the pedals jam hard left several times. I'm starting to wonder if there's a problem with a microprocessor in my control setup. They're fairly old but they've been working fine for many years now. I'm starting to wonder if something inside of DCS is causing them to fail. I've uploaded the track along with all the logs updated today. Additional Notes: OK PeterP, I've completed all the testing I believe you wanted me to do and I've come to the conclusion that this is a bug in the sim and not a problem with my controllers. The reason I say this is that I ran DCS in windowed mode like you suggested with DX Tweak running as well and I can clearly see the pedals move hard left on their own in the sim but not in DX tweak. Also, when I purposely move the rudder pedals, the indicators in DX Tweak clearly show that they move very smoothly. There are no spikes or spontaneous control movements outside of the sim. I would really like any of you developers for DCS if you're reading this thread to please take a serious look at this problem I'm having. I know from what PeterP stated, you haven't run across this problem before but I may have a unique situation. I have tried increasing and decreasing the dead band in all my axis and it hasn't resolved this problem. Please let me know if there's any additional information I can provide you to aid in diagnosing it!
  24. 1) OK, I did think about this possibility but I believe that this would be reflected in the controller axis displays and I would see some spiking going on. This was also a top of the line Asus Rampage Extreme motherboard and it monitors all the voltages so I can see them listed in the bios and they're stable. I did have a power problem at my house here but the power company came out and fixed it. I was getting really bad drops and spikes. They repaired the neutral on the pole and since then the power has been perfectly stable at 118 volts. However, I do run all my computer equipment on battery backup systems and the one for my gaming system is an APC Smart UPS 1000 which mean that it stabilizes the output voltage to +/-5v so this system was never at risk. 2) All my controllers are connected directly to the motherboard. I do not use USB hubs because I've known that they can cause problems. (edit) I did check the power levels in the BIOS a couple times. I sat there and monitored them for about 10 minutes each time and the voltage never wavered from 5.04v for the USB circuit. I know that the voltage monitors are very accurate and working as I can see the other levels fluctuating slightly. 3) PSU is a Coolmax 1000 watt with double 12 volt rails and was top of the line when purchased new from Newegg. When I configured the system I calculated that the actual power draw at full tilt would only be using about 75% of the available power. Additional Notes: I've been running a scripted campaign (stated by PeterP) and it's been running flawlessly now. I'm still going to move ahead with the swapping out of the video card tomorrow and I will post the results.
  25. OK, I believe I've figured out what's going on here. I run a bunch of different sims and I had left Crossfire on without realizing it. When I disable Crossfire the problem doesn't go away completely but it's reduced to a point where it doesn't make it completely un-flyable. Apparently the Radeon drivers cause all sorts of glitches that I wasn't aware of. I decided to switch back to Nvidia back a few months ago and I finally purchased a GTX580 from ebay a few days ago. I will have it by Wednesday and as soon as I get it installed and running I will report my findings back here.
