OK, I tried to find that person in the member list but they're not listed. They're not required to have a forum account though so that doesn't mean anything. I just saw the .com and was immediately concerned. But my original question wasn't answered. Is it even possible for bots to connect to DCS servers? I think that's a stretch because someone would have to create an account to be used for that purpose and write code for a system to search and connect to servers. Seems like a waste of time in my opinion.

I was connected to our server sitting on Nellis AFB and saw the client name trying to join the server. It was from this website but it looked like this. instagc.com/1121121 Whoever or whatever it was either wasn't able to connect completely or backed out. Is there should be a log for our server that shows the IP or other information? We're not running SLMOD and I know that does logging. I wasn't sure if it's running OK for 2.0 now.

Is this possible? I had a weird website address with the .com/ and a bunch of numbers trying to connect to our dedicated DCS server. Is this even possible and is there a way to block them from trying? Maybe it was a person with that profile name that works for the company and they were trying to join so they could spam everyone. I'm just not sure but it kind of made me concerned.

I thought you used to be able to fast forward, reverse, pause and move around a track file like you could do with a VCR, so you could go to the very end of the track without having to play through the whole file. Do those tools still exist in 1.5 and 2.0?

TGP should "see" through clouds or not??
VAF [136] Striker replied to Ala12Rv-watermanpc's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Try adjusting the brightness and contrast settings. I've found that helps immensely. But yeah, I still have a lot of trouble now compared to the old modeling. Even in infrared targets disappear into the terrain. Everyone in our group has complained about it since 1.5 came out. -
TGP should "see" through clouds or not??
VAF [136] Striker replied to Ala12Rv-watermanpc's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I forgot to mention that information is based on the latest generation AN/AAQ-28V pod. I'm not sure what generation is modeled in the DCS A-10 but based on the age of the rest of the equipment, late 70's to late 80's, it probably didn't have the same capabilities. The in game encyclopedia refers to it as the Lightning II pod, but I couldn't find any information on what generation it was modeled on. In the A-10C manual, it just refers to it as the AN/AAQ-28 but no generation. -
TGP should "see" through clouds or not??
VAF [136] Striker replied to Ala12Rv-watermanpc's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
It depends on the density. I went right to Northrop Grumman's website to look it up and according to their public information, the AN/AAQ-28V can see through wispy cloud formations, fog, smoke and similar low density materials. I suppose that there's a threshold that's hard to model in the current engine. I remember that back awhile ago I could see right through even heavy clouds without any problem but ED changed it when they released 1.5, probably because that was not realistic. Right now, when I fly over a target and even if the clouds are very light, I lose all sight of the target. I suppose that's not realistic either. Based on the visual density, I should still be able to see something. So I think that ED is going to have to correct some of the values to find a sweet spot. Also, they're apparently working on a complete update to the pod anyhow so maybe we'll see some improvement when it comes out. -
Really sorry to hear that JF. He hung out with us for awhile and I can say he was a super cool guy.

I figured this problem out. The triggers are set by the name of the flight now and if you create multiple flights with the same waypoints like you had to do before and use the "or" condition, it breaks the logic. I created a single flight this time using the unified waypoint setup and the trigger set by the name of that flight and now the function works.

I did a search and couldn't find anything. Has anyone else experienced broken triggers since the last couple patches on 1.5? I converted a bunch of older missions where the triggers were working fine in 1.2 but they suddenly stopped working. Specifically setting uncontrolled aircraft to "start" after clients enter a zone. Also, bomb in zone stuff still seems to be broken.

Turn Off DCS World Main Screen Video?
VAF [136] Striker replied to VAF [136] Striker's topic in DCS 2.9
Thanks! -
Is there a way to do that? I've done a bunch of searching and looked through the LUA files already. It seems to chew up a lot of resources when we run the server from a remote connection.

I need a Teamspeak server expert!
VAF [136] Striker replied to VAF [136] Striker's topic in Multiplayer
It turns out that this problem is a lot more complicated than I originally thought. You're suggestions are correct but there's a problem with the server settings. I have to talk to the hosting company and find out what they can do to help me fix it. It's not something that can be done through Teamspeak though but thanks for the help! -
I know that this is off topic for this forum but I'm hoping someone can help me out. I posted a problem on the Teamspeak forums but they take forever to provide any help and their answers are not very helpful in my opinion. I posted the problem here. I installed the TSviewer on our website here and it was working fine. I had to make some changes to the server settings and then it stopped working. Any help would be appreciated!

Apparently it doesn't work with GBU31 or 38's either. I wonder if the developers know about this problem.

Thank you. I'm still looking for some answer on the "Bomb In Zone" issue. Is this a bug in 1.5?

Waypoint Issue
VAF [136] Striker replied to VAF [136] Striker's topic in F-15C 16-2 Red Flag Campaign
I did read the entire introduction and the briefing for the first mission in the start of the campaign. I had no idea that this packet existed except for a vague reference to it in the briefing so I had no idea of this extra information. Maybe a reference link should have been included. I'm used to getting all the information necessary from the internal briefings. Thanks Boxin for posting the link to what I needed. Now I understand the layout. -
Waypoint Issue
VAF [136] Striker replied to VAF [136] Striker's topic in F-15C 16-2 Red Flag Campaign
Makes absolutely no sense at all. I understand your response but the explanation does not fit with any kind of military design. Where is the FEBA? Were is the FLOT line? The entire briefing is completely vague. -
I've been doing military simulations since 1997 and I have a lot of friends that are actually in the military and I have to make a very important point about this campaign. I flew the first mission and I followed the waypoints to the letter and ended up failing the mission twice. There's no such thing as failing a mission by following the waypoints designated by the commanders. I seriously do not understand why anyone would expect a flight officer to fly into enemy territory and state that you can do this but if you do you are going to fail at your job. Please explain this discrepancy.

Thanks for the post but isn't there some comprehensive guide? I've already seen this one.

OK, this should work but for some reason I haven't been able to make it work. I created a single zone and named it "Factory Tank" and then when in to the trigger system and created a trigger called "Tank Destroyed". I used the "Bomb in Zone" function and then selected all of the potential ordnance so that if a player changes the loadout it should still record the weapon. So it looks something like this (not exact!) Bomb in zone (GBU12, 1, Factory Tank) or Bomb in zone (GBU10, 1, Factory Tank) or Bomb in zone (GBU38, 1, Factory Tank) or Bomb in zone (GBU31, 1, Factory Tank) Result is that it sets a flag, say flag 2 Then, I created more zones to do the same thing with different flags. Then, I created a trigger that if all the flags were true, then the target area was destroyed. But for some reason, it's not recognizing any of the bombs in the zones. Can someone please explain to me why this would be happening? Also, I have another sort of related question. I've been working with some scripting but I want to get into it more for more immersive missions. I've been trying to find some documentation on the new version of MIST and a list of the different functions or a guide but I can't find it. Can someone point me to what's available if there is something?

new monitor advice 27" monitor or 33" led tv
VAF [136] Striker replied to =DECOY='s topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
That's a little bit out of my price range currently. I was actually looking into the Asus ROG PG278Q. Not an ultra wide screen but plenty of size for my old eyeballs. -
new monitor advice 27" monitor or 33" led tv
VAF [136] Striker replied to =DECOY='s topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I've been thinking of getting another monitor anyhow but it's good to know that it won't help. Probably the only solution at this time is the "Model Enhancement" setting. -
new monitor advice 27" monitor or 33" led tv
VAF [136] Striker replied to =DECOY='s topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'm also looking into purchasing a new monitor. I was looking at the specifications for the new 27 inch LED's and they can go up to 2560 x 1440. One of the biggest problems I've been having with my old monitor is that when I pass an enemy aircraft even at a close distance, I lose sight of them. It isn't me but it's my older 24 inch LCD monitor I realized. My question is, does anyone have experience going from that lower LCD 1920 x 1200 resolution to a higher LED monitor and does it make it easier to see aircraft at a distance. I know that you can turn up the model size but it seems to be disabled in 2.0 NTTR currently. I don't need anything bigger than 27 inch because of the size of my desk and monitor position. Thanks!
