Hell, if EDs sales person reads here, we're screwed :p

I mainly did the weapon delivery tutorials, then tried the stuff in a quick mission. If something didn't work I repeated the training or read on the manual :) Now I just started the campaign and things get better and better on each flight. Some stuff that seemed too complex to me before, is just like -click- -click- -click- done! now :) But I must admit, I brought some experience from Falcon 4: Allied Force, which has a similiar level of complexity.

Yeah, a complete war-sim including land/see/air combat and a strategic command guiding the simmers :) All featuring a DCS level of realism and hundreds of players playing online without lags :D I would easily pay 500 bucks for something like this. I'm pretty sure this dream will come true someday.

So, there is NO official statement regarding what aircraft(s) could be next?

I would love to see a Tornado or Phantom, along with the possibility to take the backseat in MP :)

Memory advantage 8 GIG vs 16 GIG?

Just open the task manager before starting DCS and check how much the load was -
Thats funny, I can remember the A-10 being very popular, at least to us kids during the 80s. It was a quite common opinion that it is a damn cool plane, with its maverick missiles, the most evil cannon on this planet, just looking darn evil and stuff :) Everyone who made those plastic model planes also wanted an A-10 :) I never knew that this plane had such a negative reputation at this time - Maybe this had something to do with cold war propaganda over here in europe.

Yeah most of the stuff works in a pipeline like way - Many processes which depend on each other. Thats one of the reasons, multi core support is hard to implement. (edit) forgot to quote :p
-
Yeah, however this has nothing to do with FPS. Its multiple logic cycles, each running at a different clock depending on their level of importance. Rendering is usually done for all visible objects alltogether. There are other techniques to boost performance for distant objects like decreasing the level of detail, using billboards (flat sprites) instead, and so on. (edit) congrats to myself for answering this 6 months old post ^^

Hm, use TGP to get a precise SPI, check if the target is moving (thats of course bad for dumb bombs), the rest should be down to your height, wind, the plane banking and stuff. I always use CCIP while diving into the target, but it trades risk for accuracy

This is what auto mode looks like, after getting one single spike on RWR :)

Ah ok, I deactivated this one, guessing it would make we invincible against AAA/SAM?!

Hi! I just checked out the single player campaign and could make it until the second mission ;) So, I was shot down and somewhat surprised to see, my pilot is "dead" / deactivated and the campaign stopped. It doesnt seem that I could continue this campaign now. If I create a new pilot the campaign restarts at the first mission. Is this normal? I read about some bugs in the SP campaign, so is it worth going at it? The first missions were quite hard but fun, anyway :)

Well, I somehow got the impression that people would always use ILS. Maybe this is implicated by the ILS training mission, which takes place at best weather conditions in which you normally wouldn't even think about ILS.
-
I find it much easier to spot ground units when all the eyecandy shadows/effects and stuff is turned on. Maybe thats the point?! I also think in reality the environment looks even more distinct and sharp. So, I dare to say that this sims visual part is even harder than reality. Beside that, I'm also pretty sure, that small objects are culled invisible by the 3d engine when the distance between plane/object becomes too large.

I usually look outside the window or use HSI course to align with the runway, then navigate the FPM to somewhere near the bottom of the runway (the edge that faces towards you). You will have to maintain a good flightpath by yourself and also take care of your speed. Anyway I figured for myself, it helps me to get a better feeling for landing and the planes movement at low speeds than it would if I were busy with staring the ADI/ILS bars
-
However, as long as I can see the runway more or less, I don't use ILS at all. Its just for the damn evil weather case :)
-
Yeah. I asked because I always have to look up and down between the ADI and HUD to maintain the flight path and check if I get the RW visual already on the other hand - Got no TrackIR, so looking down the pit for some stuff can be anoying sometimes :)
-
Ok thx, I'll try it. And theres is definately NO HUD support for ILS?! I'm pretty sure I saw something like that in Falcon 4: AF and LockOns F15C... Well, then I'll do it the oldschool way watching the ADI

Thanks! :)

Hi! 1) Is there a way to show the ILS bars in the HUD? 2) How to make a waypoint SPI again, after setting the SPI manually to another location? Greetings
-
"request" ;) As for the laser - I dont know :D I always use: auto ls: on ls time: 10 mode: ccrp Dont forget the "laser arm" switch to the left
-
I sometimes got the same "problem" with the white mavericks. I can aim and fire them properly nevertheless, but "fastdraw" (selecting multiple mavs in the dsms) doesn't seem to work while white.
-
Ah great! Both working now! :)

Hi Just two questions: I try to solve the unguided bombs lesson but I cannot enter the min altitude for CCIP mode. I switch to the profile in the left MFD, then chg then press the OSB for altitude. I am being told I have to enter it using the scratch pad keys at the HUD, but nothing happens when I press them?! Another question for the maverick: How to set SPI to the current view in the hud? Mostly the SPI is bound to the waypoint, so I have a hard time bringing the seeker head to my target when it is somewhere else. When I press V it just returns to the waypoint.
