  1. Just installed, fired up for the first time and it's awesome. Absolutely beautiful and frame rates are great. WOW! Just WOW!
  2. Whelp, there is nothing you can do about it so, guess you better learn to live with it or find something else to do. The announcement of the F-35 in no way undermines or diminishes my confidence that the A-10 or F/A-18 are not as realistic as ED was allowed to make them.
  3. The Flaming Cliffs aircraft have always been in DCS so I don't see how exactly ED is "shifting" away from anything. Mission builders as well as server hosts are free to include or exclude whatever aircraft they see fit. No one is forcing anyone to play a mission or fly in a server that doesn't meet their preferred level of "realism".
  4. The video did not contain a Naval Phantom nor any other Phantom news. What you have been looking at is one of the existing liveries. Didn't contain "news" about a lot of things, yet they are in the video.
  5. Would have hoped for an F-22 instead as well but with the announcement of the full fidelity F-15C, which I always wanted ED to make, perhaps ED felt they would compete with one another for sales.
  6. Yeah well, I was half kidding but I think they get the point.
  7. Official DCS World 2025 and Beyond video @1:32, Phantom II wing with a USN marking.
  8. Look on the bright side, this opens the door for all sorts of modules. Su-57 anyone?
  9. With all the attention to the ground war in the vid I'm wondering if they're not hinting at a long overdue update to Combined Arms. Also, Is that a Naval Phantom wing in one of those shots?
  10. I'll play Devil's advocate. DCS World is ultimately a game and without money, the game dies.
  11. Don't worry, by the time ED actually releases an F-35 it will be retired and all documentation declassified. But seriously, if ED was going to go this route then why not the F-22, I might have been able to get onboard with that at least. Thought I heard it said in the past they wouldn't do a Mitsubishi Zero sighting the lack of documentation, I guess we can look forward to one now? But what I'm really looking forward to is the full fidelity Su-57, man that is gonna be awesome.
  12. Refunded without prejudice. If the issues with Razbam reach a satisfactory resolution I may consider re-purchasing it, but for now, I'm not dealing with it given the less than satisfactory handling of the situation thus far. "It's my prerogative. I can do what I want to do."
  13. Pilot models look terrible. The Gumby wrists when holding the rifles are particularly offensive.
  14. The exhaust sound is coming out of front of F-4E instead of out the rear. As it stands, directly behind afterburner is quiet.
  15. Tried that, not working.
  16. Latest version, playing in Multithread, every time I join a server for the first time after starting DCS world, it will go through the connection loading screens and then crash back to the menu screen saying "connection timeout". If I attempt to join the server immediately after that it will connect just fine. Happens ever single time I fire up the game and with ever server, so I essentially have to join any server twice to get it to load and connect properly. I've done a cleanup but it didn't help. Any help would be appreciated.
  17. Just a heads up if it hasn't already been mentioned but it appears Microsoft will be discontinuing Windows Mixed Reality (if they haven't already, haven't checked) potentially putting the future use of your Mixed Reality Headset, e.g. Reverb G2, in jeopardy. My hope is there will be a work around that doesn't require not updating your Windows 11 or going back to Windows 10. I haven't done any serious digging on the subject but the hype suggests prospects aren't good. If Windows 11 does "brick" your Reverb G2 and other WMR headsets, it wouldn't surprise me if some lawsuits weren't filed, if at all possible under current law, consumer protection or otherwise.
  18. Yes, if you're coming from a 16:9 monitor I can see VR having even more WOW factor. I'm flying at 3440x1440 on a 34 inch curved ultrawide and it makes a huge difference when comparing 2D to VR. I can max out my settings, including view distance, and still average over 100FPS all day long, the experience is silky smooth. With VR I have to make compromises to get anywhere close to the same performance, though I use a Reverb G2 V2 and imagine the foveated rendering of some newer VR headsets might negate performance loss a bit.
  19. I read this but I also read a suggestion that the issue causing Razbam to not get paid was they weren't giving up their source code to ED. I've also read it suggested that the issue was Razbam mishandling ED's source code in violation of ED's agreement with 3rd party devs. Admittedly its all speculative and we may never actually know what the cause of the dispute was.
  20. Yeah, got to love folks that just can't believe anyone would have a different opinion then theirs, bless their hearts, like theirs is the only one that matters.
  21. Yup, many. Nothing beats the convenience, ease of use and clarity of 2D. VR is great for driving sims and simpler flying like WWI/WWII/General aviation stuff but its definitely not the end all be all. And people that say this always sound like they are asserting it must be all one or the other. I fly VR sometimes for the experience and fun, but most of the time I'm 2D personally. It is actually possible to go back and forth between the two ya know.
  22. Just a thought, but if Razbam reps have publicly stated they will no longer be supporting their modules, wouldn't it behoove ED to place a disclaimer notice for Razbam modules while they continue selling them? As it currently stands, ED has the F-15E plastered on their title page like nothing is afoot. Seems a little dishonest to carry on with business as usual without at least notifying potential buyers of potential end of support life, especially while several modules are still in "early access". Otherwise, if it's "fake news" then ED needs to assure us it is in fact "fake news".
  23. Have you read some of the posts on these forums? That said, without knowing the full details of the issue, its currently my opinion that EA needs to do whatever needs to happen to fix the situation, be that negotiating an agreement with Razbam or purchasing the source codes and supporting Razbam's modules themselves. Whatever caused this problem should have never been capable of happening in the first place, had no one ever considered the possibility and adopted a contingency plan? Not trying to bash ED, but no matter who is at fault my feeling is that they need to make this right and fulfill their commitments to their customers. Even if Razbam's modules never get updated again and stay in their current state of development forever, ED needs to be able to fix them if a DCS World update breaks them completely.
  24. Finally got mine, looks like a good quality T-shirt. Thanks HB, really looking forward to the Phantom II.
  25. Really appreciate this video from Wags and ED, hope to see more in the future. Great stuff.
