Hi all, I was wondering if anyone can categorically state what the current situation is with SCS Simulations? Their website/forum says the site is unavailable due to expansion but i have seen comments on several DCS forum threads saying that they "are no more" or words to that effect? Their site was still up only a few weeks ago but i went back recently and it seemed to be "under construction" etc. Are they still in business and just updating the site or are they "no more?" Can't find anything official anywhere else on the web either? Cheers.

A detailed guide to the View system in DCS A10C?
minimi66 replied to minimi66's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Original poster progress! Hi all, Thanks for all the interesting posts on both Views and TIR. I decided to persevere with TIR in the end, i downloaded Fish's TIR Profile and tried it out. It was nearly good to go for me as is but needed some minor tweaks here and there due to my own home pit setup and size of monitor etc. Been using it for a week or so now and with a few more tweaks it is really good, i am fully converted now and a definite fan of TIR. I can see however how some people will shy away from it and go down other routes for the viewing system. I also agree with the many posts saying that the keyboard views are probably not meant to be used in-sim, largely anyway. Exception maybe for people editing .trk files etc? I definitely found Fish's YouTube tutorial on TIR setup was VERY useful. I had it playing on my laptop screen whilst setting up and tweaking my TIR profile on my monitor. It definitely cut the time needed to get a workable profile up and running down by a great margin. Took about 1-2 hours in the end. Big thanks to Fish for the profile and the video! So, all good here but thanks to all for the insights provided into your own experiences. Cheers. -
Assuming the answer is no then? Er! Guess thats a no then! Lol!

Hi, Anyone using, used or tried to use the VRinsight CDU I or II Panel's with their setup in DCS A10C? Here's the links: http://www.flightstore.co.uk/simulation-c8/vrinsight-cdu-ii-panel-p2462 http://proviationshop.co.uk/shop/article_VRINSIGHTCDUI/VRinsight-CDU-I-Panel.html?pse=coa The info says it works seamlessly with FS2004 and FSX but not sure if there would be problems with DCS titles? Any info appreciated? Cheers guys.

A detailed guide to the View system in DCS A10C?
minimi66 replied to minimi66's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
@ kylania Hi, thanks very much, i will indeed have a look at Matt's TIR profile, maybe i am being too impatient with it? Just out of interest, when using someone elses TIR profile does it matter if my own distance/height from Track Clip Pro to Camera is different from that of the person who created the original profile? I realise the manual states there is an ideal distance and height but would assume that it is slightly different for each individual user? Many thanks indeed. -
Jpeg or .bmp images of left and right cockpit panel for home cockpit?
minimi66 replied to minimi66's topic in Home Cockpits
@bignewy, Many thanks will check it out? Also since found a few other related threads on here that i'm looking at. TVM -
Hi, I've built a basic home cockpit for use in DCS A10C and am looking for a few good quality .jpeg or .bmp images of the left and right cockpit panels? I am going to print them of on photo quality paper and stick them under clear plastic on the panels of my pit. They will be purely for decorative effect. The specific areas i need are the whole area from the top edge of the CDU on the right and the area from the bottom edge of the LASTE panel on the left (i have TM Warthog so don't need anything above this point). Any ideas guys? Many thanks.

Hi, Does anyone know of the existence/location of a detailed explanation of the entire "View" system in A-10C? I have searched both the Flight and GUI Manual but can find no explanation of how the less run of the mill view commands work? I've been playing around with them but many are obviously in some way context sensitive and only function in conjunction with another related view command? I'm talking about such actions as saving Snap Cockpit Views i.e. if i wanted to save a custom zoomed in view of the EGI/AAP/CDU area (so i could map it to a keyboard/joystick command etc) Save Cockpit Angles? Return camera base? Snap Views using the LWin NUMPAD keys combination? The above is just a few examples, there are many other commands in the view sections of the A-10C DEFAULT KEY ASSIGNMENTS pdf document that are not IMHO easy to interpret without a bit more elaboration/explanation? I should emphasise i am only really asking about the more unusual view commands? I am happy that F1 switches to Cockpit view etc etc  To pre-empt those who say get a TrackIR, i have one but TBH do not like using it, i prefer the old fashioned View hat on my TM Warthog or a keyboard command. Any assistance most appreciated? Cheers folks.

Yes, all working fine now! Happy Days!

Hey Viper, many thanks indeed for the detailed and helpful walkthrough. I have however i think found the issue? It appears i had a previous version of DCS World that i was trying to use with the latest version of CA? I noticed the version number in the bottom right of the DCS World screen and noted it was older than the version of CA i had. I understand both versions have to be the same i.e. 1.2.0.63205 Am just in process of installing new version of both and will hopefully then be in business. Will post if i have any issues but thanks to all who offered assistance. Couldn't see the wood for the trees as it turned out! What a numpty! Thanks again.

Lol! No joy with screenshots either? Still not working though? No sign of 1st Person Command Button in any mission tried so far? Gutted!

Will post some screenshots ok?

Nope! Still no luck with any of the above? Have checked the Pilot can command Ground Units check box in Mission Editor Battlefield Commander tab. Loaded one of the Single Player US Company Advance Missions, clicked on each one of the US units in turn (all of them eventually) and the 1st Person Unit Command Button never appeared once, Alt -j didnt work either? Should it really be this difficult, is anyone else experiencing this issue or anything similar? Maybe someone from ED would like to comment rather than relying on the ever helpful forum members alone? Not a happy bunny at the moment? Is there a way to uninstall CA and then re-install to see if that solves the problem? A-10C, BS2 and P-51D all work perfectly but CA is just not playing? Once again many thanks to all who have tried to assist so far, any more ideas would be appreciated?

Ok guys will try all of the above although i was already clicking on the unit prior to attempting to give it orders etc? More likely to be the settings in the Mission editor that need checking as you say above. Many thanks again.

No 1st Person Command View button in F10 View? Well i've read the manual and the first thing i've noticed is that i have no first person command view button in the upper left of F10 map view so i am unable to command any unit in any of the missions i've tried so far? Using RAlt - j keyboard command does nothing either and now i no longer get asked which game role i want to choose before the mission commences? Have tried changing the available game roles via the mission editor but this does nothing either? This really is pretty crap! Think i'll stick to Total War for RTS gaming?

Ok, found the manual, reading now....wait out!! :-)

Ok thanks guys, I have now managed to get into the CA game via the Missions option in DCS World. It appears that the P-51D registration issue was what was preventing me getting in. So, $39.99 poorer but at least i'm in? Problem now is that when i click on a unit in Map View and attempt to Add Path or Add Target the whole Game CTD's to Windows every time??? As for looking in the CA manual,i thought i had read here on the forum somewhere that there was no manual for CA? Which seems utterly bizarre given the level of detail afforded to the manuals for A-10C and BS2 etc? Again, if i'm missing something and there is a manual then please direct me to it? I couldn't see any means of actually commanding a unit or entering 1st Person mode either, the CA interface seems very sparse and basic to say the least? But if i'm on the wrong track then please let me know, so far have to say i'm pretty unimpressed with it! Pity as i was really looking forward to getting stuck into it. All help most appreciated from those who replied above. Thanks fellas.

Hi all, I might be missing something extremely obvious but having downloaded CA, registered it and gone into DCS World to start playing it.....i can't??? The CA button in the lower left of the DCS World screen does nothing other than change the wallpaper and there seems to be no other way to start the CA style of play? When i tried to play it via A-10 or Black Shark i got asked to register P-51D which i have the beta version of (unregistered) but i don't want to play P-51D i want to play DCS CA??? The are no other options or controls available as far as i can see to get me into the CA GUI or game? What am i missing guys? Can someone give any advice or assistance? Many thanks.
