Lobo's DCS A-10C Normal Checklist & Quick Reference Handbook
Britt007 replied to lobo's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Very helpful, the only thing I would have liked to see is an acronyms page at the end. -
Recording gameplay via VGA Capture Card

Can you tell me how big the YouTube video @ 4:17 was please. -
Thanks for the replies, I'll do as you say and only hold the button down when the manual release cue shows in the HUD and see if that works, TuboHog yes I was aware of the steerpoint being my SPI because I was trying to drop the bomb right between the lorries. And I didn't know using speed brakes in a gun run disables PAC .. I do now .. Still loads to learn

Buy it, STEEP learning curve but great fun, and so rewarding when you get thing right.

I want one :(

Excellent video, Thank you

Just keeps it nice and stable while approaching the target, like I said I'm only on the range dropping LG bombs. Getting the bomb lines lined up, the one on target and the one extending from the reticle. If I'm not 100% in line while in AP I just give the trim a quick flick to move over slightly then back again. I drop them without AP to :smilewink:
-
I'm still very new to DCS Warthog, I usually trim the aircraft flying to the target range (I'm still working through the tutorials) then line up on target and engage AP, thats when I get a bit carried away trimming, then after the drop and coming out of AP it's usually out of trim so I trim again, Like I said I'm learning, getting there slowly. When I trim the aircraft it does fly level and straight hands off, think I'm being a bit over enthusiastic and excited when getting to the target, lots going on :joystick: I'll get there in the end with the help of this great community.
-
OK OK I'll RTFM with my coco in bed tonight. It's not engaging when I've trimmed a lot, if I reset trim it comes back online, I only engage it when flying level not when throttling madly or banking wildly .. :music_whistling: I'm slowly working my way through the manual (all 600 pages) but just tried to get a quick answer  Thanks for the input. O and whats EAC .... ? Only joking :D
-
Cheers, I'll try them next time it happens. Jona33 whats the T/O button, I'm still very new to Warthog :music_whistling: Is the reset trim mapped on the HOTAS does anyone know?

Why do I loose autopilot sometimes? I'm flying around admiring the lovely view, blowing a few things up  I use autopilot while trying to prep my weapons, then disengage it, then on and off a few times while flying around, then all of a sudden no autopilot, pressing the buttons like mad but no autopilot. Is there a key I'm accidentally pressing in all my excitement and panic :joystick: thats turning off the autopilot permanently  I'm using the Thrustmaster HOTAS with the DCS Warthog settings, no TARGET or any other input.

I've finally got my system to where I'm happy with it, one of the biggest improvements was disabling Hyper Threading, with it enabled when turning my head to look around it would jerk badly. I do have one question, I've read a lot about disabling EIST (SpeedStep) for DCS Warthog, does it really make any difference? As I don't like the thought of my CPU working at full speed when I'm only in the desktop.
-
BTTW-DratsaB, Thanks for your input, if everyone had the same view it would be a boring world, I'm actually enjoying trying to optimise my system but would also like to do some flying :) I've just OC my CPU to 4.4xx but to be honest cannot see any extra FPS, I ran StrongHarms FPS Reference Mission and get 60-30 (I have Vsync on for my 60Hz TV)
-
PeterP, Thanks for the tip. FreeFall, I'll be taking a look at those links, cheers. StrongHarm, I agree it makes a big difference flying at 60 FPS, Ill give your reference mission a try and let you know. I'm using a Noctua NH-D14 - Processor cooler for my CPU and just checked the CPU temperature after flying DCS Warthog and it peaked at 47, I did look at the water cooler but decided to go with the Noctua cooler because I didn't think I'd be over clocking so soon :)
-
Hi StrongHarm, Don't worry they don't deter me, I'm open to all suggestions and arguments. I've over clocked my PC through the bios using the performance setting, I now get a lovely smooth 60 FPS. Here are some pic of my settings.
-
I for one appreciate ALL input, and appreciate you taking the time to help, without people like you nubies like me would be stuffed. And hopefully one day I'll be able to pass on my findings and help others. I did find this and tweaking my Bios got me a few more FPS
-
All this makes interesting reading ....
-
StrongHarm, When you put it like that I suppose I'm asking a bit much out of a £1200 machine to replicate the complexity of flight, and everything else going on around. I'll try like you say with the SLI and keep trying to get them few more frames, as for over clocking I've never bothered, didn't see the benefits of pushing the limits for a few frames but I'll give it a go and see what I get.
-
Kalahari, Make sure you save it as a .cfg file not a .txt file
-
Kuky, OK, I see what you mean now ..
-
Kuky, I run ALL my games with Vsync on and they ALL run at 60FPF silky smooth because my Plasma TV is only 60Hz so I don't understand why I would want to set MaxFPS lower than 60FPS? As you can see I get 60FPS on Low settings?
-
Demongornot, Couldn't agree more, it seems that some companies can't code and optimise correctly, just want to get their product out there making money, such a shame as I think it's a great sim, but I have problems enjoying it when it shudders and I have power in reserve. Silky smooth in Low but takes away the feel of the simulation.
