Hello all, i have trackir3 w/vector and when i place the trackir on top and in the center of my monitor about 2 feet away from me it just goes nuts, i have to place it all the way to my left and then it works sort of good. My smoothing is on around 36 or so and i use smooth as my motion. I was wondering what others use and how they have theres set up so it doesnt jump around and you can look around nicely, thanks all.

The best advice to give is to download Teamspeak and buy a headset with microphone ( there pretty cheap ). Then download Hyperlobby which is were all the servers and people fly on ( its free ). Then when you click on a server, usually it will say the ip address for their teamspeak so you can go on and talk to others. This way you can ask questions and let them know your taking off, landing etc,etc. Be prepaired to die alot online, it is a whole different world than singleplayer.

Hey Guard good to see you here. First problem you have could be several reasons: 1) The person could be using ground clutter (mountains, terrain,etc) to not let you lock him or he could be at a different alltitude than what you have your radar set to, sometimes just a little off can really affect your lock capabilities or he could be switching on and off the ECM rapidly, noob thing to do be sure. I sometimes have the same problem so it's not just you. 2) If you are loosing a lock all together they could be beaming you ( Beaming is changing your course so that the radar's computer confuses your speed with the apparent speed of all the objects it's detecting on the ground. The hoped for result is the radar filters you out along with all the other ground returns.) you want to fly so the enemy is on your 3 or 9 o clock position or 90 degrees. They also could be changing alltitude very rapidly causing you too loose lock. I understand that Kenan, but, im a little confused about the 'expected target range'. This has to do with radar elevation up or down. Im trying to get an idea of how this works in my head, thanks though, if you understand it well give me a picture as to how to understand it better.

Ok so say my radar scan distance is 50km and i scan up 1km what would i need to put into the 'expected scan range' to cover the proper area, sorry im still a little confused:doh: is there a preffered setting say 30 or 50 that you could leave it at or is it necissary to constantly adjust?

Ok i know the game will be separate from lockon flaming cliffs, but, my question is will there still be the flyable planes we have in flaming cliffs F-15,mig,su etc to fly along with the KA50 or will this be only a flyable KA 50.

On the russian planes su/mig at the bottom of the hud there is the 'expected target range' number. I read about it in the manual, but, im still confused a little. Is this mainly used to input range that is given by say AWACS? How is this best used when online without an AWACS support. I usually never mess with it and it is usually on 10 or so. Could someone elaborate more on the purpose and functionality of it, thanks.

Ok my turn the F-15 because of the radar capabilities and the beauty of the cockpit. Setup is either 8 120s and centerline fuel tank, or, 4 120s and 4 aim 7s.

This site i sent you is great to learn the radar better, its in french so just simply go to Alta vista and use Babelfish to translate it into english and your golden, hope this helps you with radar uses.

I understand most about ECM, but, im curious as to when im jamming and the enemy fires a missle before burnthru i wont get a warning until seconds before? I have had this happen before and i couldnt figure out how it happened ( i know now ). Is this the same for the enemy and my 120? if hes jamming and i lock the hoj and fire he doesnt get a launch warning till second before? thanks for the help. I like the aim 7 bluff will try that sometime to force defensive.

Pilotasso you said that you should not turn music on untill you have been locked by enemy first due to the increased range that music gives the mig/su HOJ capabilities...could you please elaborate on this a little further, i would like to know more about ECM when and how to use advice. Also what is your prefered loadout for the F-15, thanks.

Well i changed to another keyboard and all so far seems well, i also deleted and re-istalled the game and only put in a few mods and its working for the first online game, im going to try it again and i will report back, thank you all for the advice i really appreciate it.

I tried what you said Goya, i unplugged my joystick so there was no joystick or saitek profile running and went online and still it happened, it seems to be something about connecting to servers online that suddenly scrambles my keys, any thoughts?

Ok whenever i go to fly online and i get to my plane and go to start the engines it turns out that all my keys on the keyboard have for some reason changed and i cant do a thing, neither does my profile for my saitek x-52 work. For instance when i push the H button the hud color changes and it should only change with shift+H. The alt+Home and shift+Home dont work to start engines, even when i exit the game and try my notepad the keys dont work only beep when i hit them. I tried deleting my saitek drivers, majic mouse and keyboard items and re-installed everything and it worked 1 time and then the problem started again. Is there something in the config file i need to change or something, i really need some help with this because i cant play online everytime. Could it be somewere in the saitek profiler system? i cant figure this out. Thank you in advance for helping.

When flying the eagle and i have the radar scanning down low from high and i want it to scan to the left side or the right how do i do this, such as on the russian planes were you can scan to the left or right. Do i need to place the TB box to the left or right? Thanks for help.

If i swithced profiles during the heat of things then why would it scramble my whole keyboard? it has something to do i think with online play because when i reeboot and play offline all is well. Do you think i should save my profiles and then delete my saitek stuff and re-do it all from stratch.?
