and on top of that, Wag's new avatar image is an F-18... altho it could be a growler but that doesn't help speculation...

Thanks phant!

I know it's a helicopter, what helicopter is what I was asking
-
Any chance you can give us the links to what posts these came from? Also, what aircraft is that first cockpit from? im not familiar with russian aircrafts at all. thanks.
-
Another addition to speculations: The F-86F was also mentioned, MilViz.com has an add on for FSX of the F-86, the most logical thing for a developer making military aircraft for FSX would be to bring them into a simulator thats based on combat, which leads me to think that Milviz is an un-announced 3rd party developer who would be bringing their F-86 to DCSW. Just speculation...

hmmm I may just hold off on the SSD for windows, i think i'll go with a 216GB to run the Mac OS and then once i upgrade to a mac pro i will get an SSD just for windows, part of issue im having is when i sell this machine i will likely sell it with the SSD installed and i don't want to raise the price by that much because it would be a lot harder to sell it. Thanks guys!!

Hi guys, i'm ready to upgrade to an SSD, my only issue is that i'm not sure about the capacity. since i'm running DCSW on a mac and i'm getting the SSD to keep both operating systems i would have to get a 512GB SSD to be able to handle both so i gotta spend close to $600 when i could instead spend half of that for a 256GB SSD and save the other half towards upgrading to a mac pro later this year if they are refreshed. So what i'm wondering is: #1 Will the FPS improve or will it just be the loading time for missions? #2 is the improvement worth $300.00? My plan is to upgrade to a mac pro since i will have more options for Graphics Cards but i won't upgrade until they are refreshed which hopefully will happen later this year, at that time i will sell this iMac i have and get an ssd for the mac os and one for windows to run dcs world along with HDDs for the content on the mac. Thank you in advance for any advice!

bootcamp - Mac Pro - Windows 8 - DCS World
neroroxxx replied to intographics's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Yeah i figured there weren't enough mac users to do that lol hopefully one day! At some point i actually thought of starting a Mac Users Thread that would contain links to any posts about running DCSW on macs :) As far as a VM for windows goes, I originally bought parallels and windows hoping to run A-10C at the time on parallels but the performance wasn't so great, I often had issues with graphics and full screen mores so i decided to run bootcamp instead. The other things i tried was to run parallels from the bootcamp partitions (basically you have the option so you can access windows from either parallels or bootcamp with all your stuff installed) but the issue i would have was if i ran DCS A-10C i would have to re-activate it so i think i lost like 3 activations from doing that, i think it's because of the VM virtual hardware changes that probably make DCS world think it's running off a new machine. The other issue was that i bought a Windows OEM version (i had no clue i thought i was on sale, im used to the Mac OS X to be just 1 version that you just buy and instal but with windows there are many versions plus the OEM) so windows would need to be reactivated the same way because it probably thought it was a different machine so i had so many issues with it. Once i have an SSD i'll put Windows on it for bootcamp and maybe i can buy a copy of XP to run with parallels just for testing of websites and i can instal that one on the HDD :) -
bootcamp - Mac Pro - Windows 8 - DCS World
neroroxxx replied to intographics's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'm looking forward to the 2013 Mac Pro (which sounds like will actually happen since they haven't updated them in a while) I just hope Apple doesn't turn it into a Mac Pro-sumer. My next upgrade to my iMac is an SSD which i think i'll be getting the Samsung 840 Pro, 512GB so i can put about 150GB towards windows since all i run on windows is DCS World and Internet Explorer to test my websites and the rest towards the Mac. I gotta say the main downside of the iMac is that the video card is a laptop card and you can't upgrade it, if i could upgrade the video card even for a newer mobile card i would have done it a long time ago, when i upgrade to the Mac Pro at least i'll be able to change things as needed. It'd be cool to have a sub forum for mac users to make it easier to help each other better! -
Flaming Cliffs 3 Pre-Purchase Question.
neroroxxx replied to Azref's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
read this post http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1643589&postcount=4 #16 New and updated campaigns that cover all of the FC3 aircraft. the F-15 has a new campaign and i believe the SU-27 will have one too all other MAY be just updated versions to work with DCS World. Either way it looks like it will including campaigns with all aircrafts. Buying older versions of flaming cliffs will only include those campaigns as part of that version and not part of DCS World, altho you can load some of the campaigns and missions directly from FC 2 to DCSW a lot of them didn't actually load and caused crashes for me when i tried it. hope this helps. -
Help! FC3 Installer does not see Lockon, so won't install
neroroxxx replied to Bahger's topic in Payment and Activation
Did you try uninstalling both n reinstalling in a different order? Lockon first then dcs world and then fc3 I dont see how the order would be an issue in this case. Also after installing dcs world make sure u do the auto update then instal fc3 -

bootcamp - Mac Pro - Windows 8 - DCS World
neroroxxx replied to intographics's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have a 2011 imac the specs are on my signature, i get about 36 to 40 fps on the game with my screen resolution of 2560 x 1440, i run latest mac os x and windows 7 OEM, Ny advice would be to get a high end video card, on enay some people sell video cards that are ready for mac (not all are i think they need some form of hacking to get them to work well) the only think about those is that they wont show the apple logo when rebooting which is not a big deal. I would get a an OWC SSD like a 120GB for better performance and faster game start since the mac pro has 4 slots Im getting a mac pro once they are updated, the current model is pretty out dated for gaming. There Are others using macs with bootcamp for DCS, i think its alla bout the video card, my imac is a monster for just about any application even mac games but when running windows its just nothing that stands out. Good luck -
Thank you for the update EB! take your time, we all look forward to it and the day it's out we'll be overloading the forums and i'm sure the Belsimtek site will be down because of all of us clicking the BUY NOW button :-D
-
If you check my signature you'll see what imac i have, with that system i get between 30 and 40 fps at medium with the full resolution 2560 x 1440 (changing it to 1080 didnt help) I think you should upgrade to the 27 inch for sure, as a mac users for years i know what its like to have a machine that works amazing running OS X but with games it lacks. DCS world seems to be mostly about your graphics card, i have a pretty powerful processor but my video card is a mobile card so its not nearly as powerful as most desktop cards. Personally my next mac will be a mac pro once they get upgraded which rumor says will be next year, the new imacs dont appeal to me because they are so thin that they have no room for a second SSD like my current imac has (which i will be installing in the next month or two) no VESA mount option, no bootcamp compatibility with 3TB hard drives, altho the best thing seems to be upgraded graphis. Your best bet is to wait til the new mac pro or get the new imac. You suould post the specs of your current mac to get a better idea

Payware Models for DCSW (ONLY External 3D Models ! )
neroroxxx replied to HungaroJET's topic in DCS Modding
I would pay for a package, say $19.99 for an AI package, something that would include multiple models that would be an upgrade from what ED already has in-game, I saw that NEWS3D has an ITALY mod that adds new models and makes some flyable, it looks really nice, I would pay for something like this even if it doesn't make them flyable, just upgraded graphics and skins and so on. That's just me. -
Thats all you need in case zombies show up at your door steps

Just curious, is the beta still set to be released in 2012? there's only a few weeks left but i was just curious, i wanna put it on my santa list...

Thank you for the advice, yes thats thr issue ive had, the problem is that words get mixed by the sim, the o'clock words are used for everything so they all have to have a certain level of energy, they will all have to be at using the same tone of voice and character. Ive been some more recordings but ive been busy with my day job working overtime but now i have a much better idea on how to get the digits to sound great. Im going to be recording this weekend so hopefully it'll work out on this take. After researching it a bit more im actually hoping to turn this into a REALISTIC mod, for example instead of your #2 wingman saying roger or affirm it will just say "TWO" as a confirmation and so on, i need to do more reasearch on this any advice by ex AF pilots would be great
-
I was going thru their site a few days ago thinking "Wow these guys have a lot of sims under their name, they must have a huge staff" then i saw the A-10C and i was like "wait a minute...". Most of their downloads don't even mention the developer for all you know they are programing each sim add on.

yup that's what i thought too. his facebook post: "Guys understand that we can't talk too much about DCS. We are bound by a NDA. We can't develop the Mig-29 for DCS and that's all we can say about it." I'm guessing they have a MIG-29 planned for a not too distant future and they don't want razbam investing time on it since most of us will more likely go for the ED made aircraft first. There are 2 F-15E on the works so i don't think it's about competing with FC3, FC3 seems more targeted at the F-15 crowd anyways...
-
I noticed that, it's actually a different voice, looks like it's because it uses a russian accent voice which is different from a wingman, On an update on this, I've done a bunch of recordings but i've had issues with the way some of the phrases match, i will be working on this this week again. another thing i have in mind is for a REAL LIFE MOD which would change things to be a lot more realistic as far as the wingman goes, basically you won't hear things like bombs away or missile away, or roger, copy and so on.
