I'm not entirely sure how to use the flares and chaff in the MiG21. I've bound the countermeasures release key... but when I press it nothing happens... do I need to activate something or enable countermeasures? Also it looks like you can mount an ASO-2 countermeasure system to the back of the plane, are those my only countermeasures? Or are they just extra ones... and either way how do I use them haha

I've actually found that its easier to get the phantom to overshoot me than anything else (so far) -

I don't hide this, I've said it like a billion times on my channel. Don't understand how that's impudent. Its just my job. I'm starting to think that you've made following me around on the forums and being constantly negative your full time profession. -

I'm really sorry about this man, but from a business standpoint I can't do that. The most successful business models on Youtube are quantity over quality, and since I make my paycheck off Youtube I can't risk changing my strategy. Now granted as I continue to learn about the MiG21 I'll try and showcase that knowledge in my videos... but as it stands its more important that I get videos of the MiG21 out ASAP as opposed to waiting to learn more about the aircraft. With the amount of work I have to do featuring other games, and also touring the US, I don't always have time to fully research the games I play on Youtube. I really appreciate you telling me the statistics and stuff though, however at the time of the livestream I had only been home 12 hours from tour (after a grueling drive that had me up past 6AM) and the 21st was the date I was asked to start publishing media, so once I woke up at 2PM I only had a little time to learn the plane on top of the other games I've been asked to feature. Hopefully in the future I can make better videos, but yeah... I hope that explains why I do what I do. Edit: It would actually be nice to have a wingman who was a little better informed than me, but since the game is only released to promo channels my pickings are slim. -

I mean... in its class... yeah? I'm comparing it to things like the MiG-29 But honestly you shouldn't even trust anything I'm saying I've already said multiple times I have no clue about this thing -

Yeah its like I said in the livestream... it can't turn that well, but that doesn't mean it isn't capable of dogfighting. I'm sure there's a way to be effective with it, I just haven't figured it out yet. -

I don't really care if it can't turn or not... it shoots missiles and is a fighter jet. We're all obviously going to buy it haha -

I preordered the MiG during the Indiegogo campaign. I'm also friends with Cobra and he was kind enough to let me have an early copy to help them promote their release on my channel. -

Fantastic Job Just wanna say I'm playing the prerelease version right now, and I'm incredibly impressed. Thank you so much to Leatherneck Simulations for seeing this project through to the end, and for honoring the indiegogo supporters... I can't imagine how much stress and work has gone into this plane. Every detail is beautiful, and I can really see all the love you guys put into this plane shining through. Thanks so much and congratulations. -
This has nothing to do with turning a profit or not, this has to do with the legalities of business. There are many ways to do illegitimate things while loosing money, just because you're taking a financial hit... doesn't make it legal. That is not enough. If someone says "give me money and I'll give you a car" and you give them money, and they say "oh well, I'm not giving you a car" or even "oh well, here's a bicycle" you don't say "ah well, at least I learned not to trust that guy" no you report him for fraud. That's fraud. It was absolutely marketed under false pretenses. From a definitive standpoint, RRG has bait and switched its backers. A product was offered, and it is not being delivered in whole. I would also like to say that Kickstarter has contracts that hold the campaign starter to their promises, this whole "ah well its Kickstarter, fraud is okay there" is not true. From their website: I'm not saying ED is somehow a part of it, but I also have no proof that they aren't. It is entirely feasible that someone could take advantage of this situation. Granted that is all speculative, but it is a justifiable speculation. I don't know anyone in ED personally, and I have no inner knowledge of your business or marketing... therefor in my mind the possibility exists.

Just as a preface, I am going to say that the more I think about this... the more I am very unhappy with the situation. This very particular scheme (from a business standpoint) has extremely negative ramifications for the simulation and tactical gaming industry, and these ramifications reach considerably farther than merely this specific incident. Then ED should forfeit any work or product made through that 10% funding, and RRG should be met with legal ramifications if they are unable to fulfill their promises. I am sorry but I cannot be grateful for this. This particular scheme has massive legal implications, and is unfair in both a business and marketing standpoint. To accept a product even partly funded under false pretenses gives an unfair advantage over competing companies that adhere to strictly honest marketing guidelines. If Company A and Company B are both running a Kickstarter campaign for the exact same product, however Company A lies and tells its consumers they will receive more than what Company B is offering... Company A will out compete Company B for no other reason other than that Company A lied during its marketing campaign. This entire system promotes dishonesty in a marketing and business setting, and is out competing honest companies that are working to market their products accurately and effectively. I love ED and their products, and honestly I could care less on getting my money's worth for this module. I've gotten enough copies of DCS modules for promotional purposes that it would be absurd for me to argue this purely from a personal financial standpoint... but if anything that should make you realize how seriously I take this situation. I'm probably risking my promotional relationship with them (hopefully not) by talking about this, but its important enough to me that I feel I must argue these points anyways. Regardless I am a Youtuber... I make a living off of speaking my mind, and this is very much what is on my mind right now.

Firstly: Never said I was going to sue. Not my words. Secondly: ED gets the money. Development time = Money. It's an asset. Lastly: If you were me, you'd be thinking exactly what I'm thinking. Not what you're thinking. I never said whether or not the KS fund funded a complete module or not. I'm saying that ED now reaps the profits behind a product partly funded via false pretenses. It doesn't matter how much or little the company makes, from a moral standpoint accepting a product even partly funded by funds pledged under false impressions is wrong (in my view.) For those of you asking whether I would have rather the DCS: WW2 module not have happened at all. Yes that is what I would have wanted. If ED wants a DCS: WW2 module, they could have started from scratch and left RRG to the legal wolves. If ED is not capable of fulfilling the promises made by the original company, then they should not take over the project.
-
What exactly am I making up? Please correct me on anything I've said. As far as I can tell... this module has received funding based off of false pretenses... if Sega promised everyone a Lamborghini for 5$, made 5,000,000$ in preorders... then got bought out by EA two days later... EA got the 5,000,000$ and said "hey sorry, Sega was just crazy... that was never going to happen. We're going to give each of you a bundle of twigs instead... thanks for the 5,000,000$" I guarantee you they would see legal ramifications. Granted that's a extremely exaggerated example, but you get my point. And if you can't be bothered anymore... then don't reply to me, but I'm upset about this and I'm going to post about it. Because that's what upset people do. I genuinely think that there is a problem here, and I'd like to talk about it on this thread with or without you.

From what I've been reading it appears most of RRG has been employed by ED. Meaning the majority of the team still exists, only under a different name. I don't understand how this allows RRG to fall out on their original promises, even if they were exaggerated and/or unattainable. Perhaps ED is due some praise for salvaging the project, but I still feel that someone has taken advantage of this community and has gotten away without penalty. I understand that this was a crowdfunding campaign, and that crowdfunding campaigns come with risk... however as a consumer, I feel it is my responsibility to hold companies personally responsible for fulfilling their promises... and when those promises are not met, I expect either compensation or severe legal penalties. Otherwise, what would keep a company from ever doing such a thing again? Nothing. With that said... I would like to say that I am extremely disappointed with this development. DCS: WW2 has greatly benefited through false pretenses, and in an indirect way (since ED is now managing the project, and I would assume reaping all profits from this module) ED has also benefited from these false pretenses. DCS: WW2 would have very likely (if not most certainly) been a failed campaign, if it were not for their extremely generous rewards. Perhaps if this module was not financially feasible, it should not have been started at all. Other Kickstarter campaigns which have failed to provide a product post-funding have been met with fierce legal consequences... and I feel that those responsible for this particular campaign have been able to escape those consequences through political maneuvering, and it makes me wonder if that was the plan all along. In comparison, I would like to say that my experience with Leatherneck Simulations was excellent. Regardless of their situation, they were still capable of honoring my original pledge to the MIG:21BIS IndieGoGo campaign... and I found that (again... as a consumer) to be incredibly noble. Essentially... TL: DR version. I am disappointed with this, and I don't feel enough measures have been taken to keep this kind of thing from ever happening again. Taking advantage of the Simulator/Tactical community via crowdfunding campaigns has become an all to commonplace marketing strategy recently... and I feel obligated in voicing my dissatisfaction.

And that makes it okay?

Uh... I don't understand. When I pledged on the Kickstarter for 40$ it said I get all aircraft. Not two... how is this good news?

DCS M1A2?! http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2002724#post2002724 DOES THIS MEAN WHAT I THINK IT MEANS!!?!?

Here's some eyecandy. I'll try and post some updates to my channel so I can help build the hype for this beautiful module.

For REAL.

WTF Happened to the Mig-21?! So the forums for Beczl are completely gone, and someone just told me the module has been cancelled. WHAT!? It was two months from release and now its GONE!?

Whatever, I like interactive cockpits better. That's it, end of story. I'd rather know how to turn on a plane and then sit on the ramp looking like an idiot, than have someone else turn on the plane for me and fly like a pro. Obviously I'd like both, its not like I hate AFM... but I'd choose IC given the choice. It just comes down to a matter of opinion I guess, so if we could just stop the armchair commando bashing please... that'd be nice.
