  1. I remember playing Planetside when I was younger, it would have been a lot of fun if I hadn't been on a 56K connection at the time. I'm glad to see a sequel in the works, I hope to give it a proper run this time.
  2. I liked Battlefield 1942 (it was on of the first games of it's kind) and Battlefield 2142 (which was basically BF2 without the spammy air power and a larger emphasis on infantry combat). BF3 put me off with the goofy 'launch from browser' and the origin crap. I guess if they're releasing BF4 so soon it probably means they're going the CoD route of 'rinse and repeat' sequel making.
  3. That video says it can't be viewed in my country (USA) because of copyright restrictions. I don't do formation flying, but there are threads where people who do claim that the TM Warthog is not precise enough for it, without some particular modding (removing springs and/or regreasing the bearings, if I remember correctly). As a non-formation flyer, I have never personally had any trouble with the precision, though.
  4. You'll find the SimHQ server info here: http://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/3589130/SimHQ_Iron_Front_Saturdays_4_P.html#Post3589130 You'll need to go on the Teamspeak server for the password.
  5. Single player is as silly as it ever was in Arma II. The multiplayer game is fun (reminds me a lot of Battlefield 1942, especially in how the airplanes look and handle), but there aren't many people on usually. SimHQ has been holding server games every Saturday for several weeks now that usually draw 8-12 people. The Steam summer sale is going on now, I'm sure you'll be able to pick it up at a discount. At a lowered price it might be worth it, but at the full 30 bucks I'd say pass.
  6. Hi. I'm wondering where I can find a guide to the various rockets, missiles and gun pods that can be equipped on the Shark. Thanks!
  7. If you don't mind my asking, how'd you end up with an extra license? Just curious. (don't put this post in the contest, I already have BS2).
  8. Would you say that Bs2 or DCS World is more commonly used at this point?
  9. I'm running the full stand-alone BS2 game. I also have DCS World, though. Thanks for pointing out the multiplayer forum, I actually didn't even realize it was here.
  10. I just went online last night for the first time but there seemed to be a lack of any populated servers. Does anyone know of servers or communities for flying the Shark online that would be newbie friendly? Thanks!
  11. Hey guys. I don't have much trouble landing in a specific spot, but after I touch down my Shark starts rolling forward. I press W to brake the wheels but it doesn't seem to help. The only thing that stops this is hitting the emergency engine cutoffs as soon as I touch down, which I know must not be the correct way to land. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks!
  12. That's cool... of course, the only thing that keeps me in the air when I fly the Black Shark now is the AI's dumbness; with actual players controlling the AAA I might as well eject before I leave the landing pad.
  13. While I like the Mustang, and honestly I will probably be excited about pretty much any study-sim level aircraft they introduce, I worry that ED is spreading itself a bit thin with the Flying Legends stuff, and that the DCS landscape risks becoming a bit scatter shot. If I had my way, in a perfect world, I'd want an east and west equivalent for each type of aircraft (an Apache for a Blackshark, a Su-25 for an A-10, a MiG for a Falcon) before moving into other types of historic aircraft. However, if third-party aircraft become more common, and are at the same level of excellence as EDs efforts so far, this will become a moot point.
  14. Does the A2A Mustang addon for FSX have combat?
  15. So, even if you don't own Combined Arms, you can still join a CA server and attack/be attacked by player-controlled ground forces?
  16. It's pretty nice so far just to have the three aircraft (and the SU-25) in the same menu. Instead of having to exit out and start another game.
  17. Looks like a cool game, but I guess the developer has gone under? It's not available on Amazon and I can't find it for sale online anywhere.
  18. In a perfect world (and I know I'm probably dreaming here) there would be a built in voice chat system that could be effected by events in-game, such as strikes against communications structures. You'd get a mission plan when you start but if your radio goes down for whatever reason, you'd be in the dark and just have to wing it as best you could.
  19. So, when are we going to see DCS aircraft, Steel Beasts armor and ARMA infantry all in the same game? :music_whistling:
  20. Thanks again. Another thing: How do I use the spotlight?
  21. Thanks! Where once there was darkness, now there is light.
  22. I just started trying out some night missions, however I'm having some trouble with the night vision goggles. When I put them on (pressing h) they are totally washed out and I can't see anything. What else should I be doing that I'm not to make them work properly? There don't seem to be any tutorials or anything on night flying that I can find on Google, are there any recommended ones? Thanks!
  23. Looks pretty cool. I hope the AI is up to the challenge. And I hope any new AI will make two seater helicopters possible in the future :) I don't mind the lack of realism that much, since I believe DCS should be primarily a flight simulator, and I don't want too much time spent on the ground vehicle aspect.
