Same problem in my case. Also SARPP no longer works for some reason. Definitively there was more added in 1.2.11 than what the changelog said!

Nuclear weapons in DCS (what wouldn't you like to see?)
fable2omg replied to Avimimus's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Well I don't know about you guys maybe it's because I was born in 1993 so I never felt the cold war, but nukes sound awesome! I wish I could drop a RN-24 with the MiG-21 in a perfect LABS maneuver and just see the screen turn white as I fly away from the explosion. -
Oh, well thanks for the hint, I'm the kind of guy who keeps a logbook of every flight (and in the MiG-21 case, SARPP :P) so I'll be careful not to taint my records with impossibilities such as an afterburner go-around at 10 meters AGL.
-
Thanks a lot for the explanation, makes sense, now I know I need to try and land with take-off flaps and SPS off!
-
So nice to see there is that much dedication to make the DCS Mig-21 as realistic as possible!
-
Yes but why don't we use this magical SPS on take-off? It could even shorten the take-off lengh thereby rendering the RATOs useless, giving space for the ASO modules even with heavy loads!
-
Almost the same happened to me, usually by trying again and again it usually starts. Maybe it's a hardware issue because recently it somehow fixed itself.. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I was reading the emergency procedures of the Mig-21bis when I found something pretty interesting, on page 168, it says that it's possible to maintain level flight below 2000 meters will flaps and gears down, and then a couple of lines below that, there's a warning saying level flight cannot be maintained with gears down and flaps set to take-off.. ..The only conclusion I can come out of this is that when the flaps are down, the blown flaps are activated by the SPS system, now I don't want to kill myself by turning off the SPS and trying to land just to confirm my theory, but if it is true, when why don't we take-off with flaps down too? I can understand that flaps down create a large amount of drag but here's a quote from Wikipedia "In general, blown flaps can improve the lift of a wing by two to three times." Now this might be horse███ but if it is true, why?
-
Aw come on don't get yourself all worked up because some kid think they know it all, people like me who don't remember everything from school and don't know what to look for on wikipedia really appreciate your simple explanations. Thanks.

Sorry for the late reply, I didn't know I had to manually subscribe to posts on this forum.. ..The issue was fixed thanks to the latest update, I swear I tried re-installing everything before and it didn't work, but now it does anyway. Sometimes, it's better just not to question things lol Thanks Nick for the assistance.

I don't know about the rest, but the 2g bumps on the taxiway don't impress me, the way I see it, it's like if you drove a soapbox racer down a tiled street driving over 60km'h, you'd probably flip upside down pretty fast. For the rest of the bugs.. I don't have enough experience on the MiG-21 yet.. I'm still entertained enough by my SARPP graphs :P

http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2199714&posted=1#post2199714 Hi there John, so apparently there was an update that a few of us missed where they changed from Km'h to m/s, although I have no problem with more realism accuracy, it would be nice to have your software updated. Thanks
-
Hey Laxentis, you should know, the IAS has now been changed for m/s since the last update http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2199714&posted=1#post2199714 I love your software more than J-SARPP and it would be really nice that pySARPP would be updated. Thanks!
-
Oh, thanks! I guess I must've missed that in the changelog of the most recent update. I'll drop a message to the pySARPP and J-SARPP threads
-
Same issue here, same everything, I have records of my first flights before the patch and everything was fine, the problem really seems to be just with the IAS, and I flew with pitot heat but no change.

Gentlemen, update on the current situation have left me with mixed feelings ranging from contempt to desperation. It appears that the issue may or may not reside in the compatibility system of Windows 7. I have attempted days ago to solve the issue by setting every .exe to compatibility mode Vista SP2, which worked for early versions of DCS. What I did not do, is set the dcs_protect.exe to the same mode, which left my game freezing every time it tried to access this executable, which I eventually fixed by setting it to the same compatibility mode. Recently I've de-activated every compatibility mode leaving only the "run as admin" option on everything. Turns out this didn't solve the problem for bigger maps, but now I can certify a 100% success rate for the "cold start" mission, which is satisfactory for me, and I also seem to be able to load most of the training missions. Either that, or my computer has some sort of artificial intelligence that spot issues and fixes them along the way. I'm at a loss, again. If anyone ever has the same issue I have only pity for them.
-
Will do, I appreciate any kind of support, the Mig-21 is my favorite airplane in the world so you cannot believe the disappointment I have right now after waiting for so long for it.
-
Well, it's hopeless. I can't do any training missions, and can only fly alone in the sky. I guess I'll just wait until a new patch comes out hopefully fixing everything. 1.2.9 didn't work for me either until 1.2.10 came out. It was 1.2.8 that worked flawlessly.
-
I can do some troubleshooting, or install micro-patches if you want, the problem shouldn't be hard to pinpoint, the .exe just idles at that point, for no reason.

As mentioned in this post http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=2184236&posted=1#post2184236 DCS world has a hard time starting complex missions with the Mig-21 module. DCS world is flawless until I install the Mig-21, and when I start a complex mission such as the instant mission 'cold start', the game seems to idle at the windowed box loading thingy that usually appears for less than a second unless a key needs to be entered. The attached PNG is a screenshot taken just now, since it froze again. So far it successfully loads 1/10th of the time with this specific mission, and when starting a custom one with only the Mig-21 in the map it always starts properly. Edit: It doesn't matter if the mig-21 is in the loading map or not, missions with the Su-25 also won't load unless the map is fairly empty, although as I said, it only happens when the module is installed, since DCS world was flawless with other modules. Specs are; Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth Z77 CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 @ 3.40GHz GPU: ATI Radeon 7970 Hard disk: 1.82TB (can't find the name) SSD: Crucial M4 128GB RAM: 16GB

There's no crash no nothing, it just sits on the same square screen as when you enter the key.. And it stays so forever, the first day I got the Mig I left it open and took a nap of 4 hours just to find it still 'idle'. Maybe it just has a hard time starting the second .exe? Also: It's easier to access missions when I start the game then immediately run a mission. It always seem to work that way now.. Self repairing? Either way I'm just happy I can fly now, but we still need to find and fix the issue.
-
There, what you should have in there is: The instant mission "cold start" successfully starting, then quitting it, then restarting it, confirming it's idle for a minute with Task Manager, then closing it. Hopefully it'll help. Logs.rar
-
Alrighty then, that's what I'll do, but I'll keep this one open because I may have forgot to mention it, but it's independent on which aircraft I fly, All that DCS Mig-21 have to do with this is that it happens when I install it. Thanks.

Ok so this got narrowed down to a hardware issue: Apparently loading a big mission such as the instant mission called "Cold Start" won't work(One time out of ten), but starting in mission editor with no other aircraft around works. So here are my specs: Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth Z77 CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 @ 3.40GHz GPU: ATI Radeon 7970 Hard disk: 1.82TB (can't find the name) SSD: Crucial M4 128GB RAM: 16GB Maybe I don't have enough memory? Seriously though what's going on, to me this issue doesn't make any sense yet it happens, it's not that it won't load, it's that it won't load all the time, I of course de-activated my anti-virus and firewall multiple times, not that it changed anything..
