Going to try that this weekend, thanks so far!

Performance Guide For DCS World I shouldve expressed myself a bit better. Users of an onboard intel IGP and a dedicated nvidia GPU might suffer from a bug which 1) gives you a severe FPS penalty and 2) gives you major clipping issues and artefacts. Setting DCS to use either one of the chipsets and not the other does not help. You will need to set the near clip value to 0.0 to overcome both symptoms. Downside is if you zoom in too far in external view your model will start to clip, but that is a very minor annoyance compared to the initial problem, trust me on that. Also, you must really want to read the MFDs from outside the ACFT before you encounter this.

Could you give me a quick rundown how you made that? I have trouble opening certain files..
-
For what its worth i would not have tampered with the clipping values if not for a bug with intel onboard graphic chips. I had to set it to 0 to prevent major see-throughs and artefacts and to increase fps by at least 30%.

FYI Georgian AF doesn't exist anymore. What's left has been migrated into the land forces

Possible to draw on the A-10C canopy glass? Which programme(s) do I use to open that file? As is probably obivous, I've never done this before. EDIT: Nevermind, I think I've found a tutorial.

DCS World or Helicopter World I was a bit stubborn in the past too but we can't expect ED/TFC to model something their primary customer does not want them to model. If you want a high fidelity 64D for use with real world TTPs you'd need a sort of unofficial indie community making use of undisclosed reference material. And even then it is possible that certain parties will try to make a case indicating you based a product on information they do not want you to have. Although theoretically a software developer is free to let his inventiveness get the best of him. If his work happens to resemble actual functioning of an existing machine then that is obviously a coincidence...

I'm Googling it as we speak.. Hopefully I can find some pointers there on how to pull off something similar. EDIT: I notice quite some mods altering cockpit textures but so far I haven't found the proper files for the 10C.

DCS World or Helicopter World They weren't, only test platforms. The test platform of the A equipped with a RADAR was conveniently called the B. After that, more upgrades were implemented which lead to what we now know as the D model. Initially that model without the RADAR was called the C model. Because by the time the aircraft entered production state, having a RADAR was the only difference left between the C and D, hence they decided to simply call it the D model, either with or without RADAR. The D model was later on upgraded to D block 2. Ultimately it is upgraded to block 3 however the upgrades are significant enough that the decision has been made to name it E instead of D block 3. In short, 3 default types exist as of today: The A, the D w/ LB, and the D w/o LB. Of which the latter two are gradually upgraded to E models. Additionally the UK has a custom D model called the AH Mk 1 (UK naming convention to 'mark' everything) or WAH-64D (US naming convention, they added the W because Westland builds it under license), the IAF has a custom D which they call the AH-64D Seraph, and the JSDF has a custom D yet they don't have a seperate name for it.

Bump. I'm still hoping somebody can help me out with this... Here's an image of what I am trying to achieve.

I did not manage to solve it. I never used the in-sim HDR anyway to save FPS. I'm using the x64 version. Not sure which one you are talking about?

Looks great! Are you reskinning the custom vehicles or the default ones as well? -
Anyone have an actual A10C Training Syllabus?

Either I'm not paying attention or the first and third A10 doc link to the same file... -

Quick and dirty Afghanistan style repint of DCS world. What is currently the limiting factor preventing people from making a new seperate area next to Georgia? EDIT: Nvm, it seems somehow to be hard locked by ED currently. -

Iirc the current Georgia map has the same.. The higher, the less detailed textures. Atleast it looks like that but that might be my graphic settings? My point being, if the current map has it too I don't see a reason why ot wouldn't work the modified desert textures...? -

Hey uh... Don't wanna bitch or anything but don't you think the palm trees look a bit Miami Vice-age for an A'stan-like country full of dust? -

It's a local client side re-presentation of texture files. The MP server or other clients haven't got a single clue whether you altered textures or not. Hence it is always MP compatible unless a server side check is initiated to test local file integrity but that's not the case atm. -

GBU-38's inaccurate or is it me? I do have to admit that I recently (1.2.6+) started to note both Paveways and JDAMs are less forgiving. You need to properly place the thing on the thing for them to hit your target. This wasn't always the case in the past..

That certainly looks promising! -
So there's more than gravity and wind ripping jettisoned stores off the jet when released?
