Any other profile soft besides SST for X52?
red2112 replied to red2112's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Iam using windows 7, and aim not to familiar with it and don´t know where to find "direct output". As for long discription´s on the X52 throttle MFD, it´s not the case, as what it displays is defult "trigger", "fire 1", "fire 2"...etc. Thanks to both! Care... -
You can find a simple key set-up for my X52 here: http://http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=99241 As they say... the sim is very greatfull once you have the hang of it. There´s plenty of videos on youtube regarding flight and more for BS. If you dont fancy reading, watch a vid ;) Do practise alot once everything works. I just got back to it after a 3 month break and it took me a bit to get used to it again. Care, Red...out

Hi folks, My SST soft profiler (X52) dosent seem to work right on BS/DCS, freezes once ingame. So I just set up my X52 in DCS controls UI and save it. Iam not the only one with problems with the SST soft, so much for that. Is there any other soft (free) that can create profiles for X52 and that works? Thanks in advance! Care, Red...out

how do I assign Shkval to X-52 mousestick?
red2112 replied to swe_badger's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
My SST profiler dosent work right, so I just assign controls on the BS control GUI via input and save. Works good for me and there´s no other way for me now... On "throtlle", I have open/closed (brackets) and zoom in x23/zoom out x7 on POV-3 (up/down, left/right) for the Shkval. On wheel around E botton, I have visual zoom in/zoom out (pilot view). If I remember correctly, you have to set the wheel under axis controls. Then E botton uncages Shkval. To move the Shkval, I use joystick POV-2. POV-1 is assigned to pilot view. This is my set-up done on BS/DCS controls: T1- Autopilot Flight Director T2- Autohover T3- Autopilot Altitude Hold T4- Auto Turn to Target T5- Ground Moving Target T6- Airborne Target A- Reset Target B- Lock Target C- Center View D- Realease Wepons E- Uncage Shkval Pinky- Trimmer Safe/cover botton, joy- Flares POV´s and zoom view as expalined above. It´s basic as I cant switch profiles but it works. Hope it helps. I write it down on a note book so I can go back to it if I forget, that helps too. Care, Red...out -

Sorry for not looking it up right know but, how do you tell the PVI if it´s a NAV coord point or Target coord point (TP/NP) and NOT a waypoint? -

red2112 replied to Zenga's topic in DCS: Combined Arms
I agree... Iam trying to find a way so that the CA on my team, can send coordinates of targets BVR to the Kamov flight group. We are talking MP! CA call´s out a target coordinate to his team´s helo flight group (via TS or chat), in this case the lead. Now we have the coordinates to that target which brings me to the second handicap... Abris or PVI? With the Abris you could "mark" a target coordinate on the map and move a waypoint in your flightplan to that coordinate (for example), but the flight lead cannot send that info via Data Link to his flight group, thus the rest of the flight group has to enter the coordinates manually! If we do it with the PVI, then you would only have a "steerpoint" to those coordinates with no visual aid as in the Abris and still have no way to send those coordinates via Data Link. Please advise on how you would get around this and if Iam correct or not. Good care.. -
Many thanks Pete... A friend in my squadron told me the same thing... reduce map scale. Copy that.... thanks Pete! Good care, Red

Moving the thorttle dose the trick, thanks folks!

Thanks, yeah I´ve done that, that´s how I normaly do it. I have to try the suggestions in the rest of the thread, once tried will report back ASAP. No, no pedals on this end... Saitek Cyborg Evo. Thanks so far everyone! Care, Red

Anyone have the same problem? In DCSW 1.2, BS2, I cannot release the parking brake, so I can taxi... (not from my joy or keyboard input)
-
No news? It would make sence to have it... Also with the Ka-50. On the fly would be great! We made a small mission yesterday with CA and a A-10C in the blue team, and 2 Ka-50´s in the red team (just a try). The CA could not send signature from Thor to his A-10C... I don´t know how CA works, I don´t have it, but via TS3 that´s the problem we encounterd on MP.

It runs pretty good on my end amd I have a small system. IMHO the Kamov rides alot smoother, and the throttle seems to have changed with a longer run, you have to be 3/4 of throttle in order to start gaining altitud. Now it´s just a matter of getting used to the "center rudder trim" for us none ffs hotas. The A-10C seems to go smoother too, but I still have to get around that sim. Yesterday we put up 2 Ka-50´s, 1 A-10C and a CA on MP and ran for an hour in joy! Althought we did have an issue on "how the CA can datalink targets to a A-10C or Ka-50, with out a pre-planed brefing, or insitu (on the fly)". Overall the experiance was wonderful and smooth! Thank you DCS! This is very promising! Kudos!

I see in alot of cold start-up´s that folks (me included) turn on the IFF switch. Acording to the manual, this switch has NO function... Any clue, or is it just mear simulation? Or em I missing something... Care

What's your technique for flying the Shark smoothly?
red2112 replied to Stretch's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Thanks so much for clearing that up for me Griffin! At first, that´s what I thought, but thought I should ask just in case. Great help indeed Griffin...Thanks  In some way, it´s a altitude trim... Care, Red out -
Hi Dragon, Sorry for my ignorance... I don´t have DCS World installed, tried it but since I have BS2 Upgrade, there was no use for it, and as DSC World stand-alone (so I could fly the Su 25T) didn´t work for me either... I yet have to try it with DCS A-10C (which I have), but aim afraid that with the BS2 upgrade around, it´s just gonna mess-up DCS World Beta. My question is, that in BS2 multiplayer (in my case upgrade) I have played your missions online, are these older missions? You´r saying that there only for BS2 1.2. of DSC World, yet I have played your missions online with others, and I don´t have DSC World Beta installed... Sorry but aim puzzeld now. I downloaded your mission pack and the Madmod, but don´t know if I should install them due to the above. I do have your MP Training mission pack for BS1 1.2 and that works fine, and I thank you for your effort and time... very nice, great to get your chops with. Care, Red...out.

What's your technique for flying the Shark smoothly?
red2112 replied to Stretch's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Thanks Pete, just geting into that... Do you hold the collective brake, or just hit on and off when correcting? Any indicator that the collective brake is on? I don´t have IR... Are you using the "Altitude-Hold" at the same time with the collective brake? Can you please elaborate more on how you use the collective brake. Once again, thanks Pete for the info! I find that when achieve-in a hover status, if you hit the auto-altitude hold. to on, and set your Kamov to auto-hover. Your hover is alot more stable with auto-alt-hld on. Then just set your automatic turn to target on the Targeting Mode control panel if you have a locked target, and if that´s the case. Reliefs stress in either case... -

I find it´s better to learn how the Kamov reacts without the FD. Iam not suggesting not to use it, that´s each own to choose, but for me without the FD you get a feel of how she swings first... Later on you can add/take what ever you want from the Kamov. YMHO. It can almost fly by itself, so it´s up to you how much, that´s how good it is...:D
