  1. Hello all. I have tore apart all of of my known config files in DCS World and cannot find a way to get the smoke effect to work on AI aircraft while under Military power. I know the nozzle information and where everything goes just need to figure out where to input the smoke effect and to only have it show up between idle and mil thrust settings. Thank you for the help ahead of time.
  2. You my friend are a Rock Star. The one place I did not look due to thinking it was going to be all .dll files in there. Duh! Great to have your wisdom! Thank you.
  3. I am looking to add some Phantoms in the game as AI with proper high res skins. Here is where I am at now: \Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\Liveries\f-4e -- This the default folder but the textures are referred to "AF Standard" and "Standard". Both of these reside in the \Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Bazar\World\textures\WorldTexturesBMP1.zip There are two files that have Phantom skins. f4-okr-1.bmp.dds -- Camo f4-okr-2.bmp.dds -- Gray Now I have pulled out the textures and put them into a new folder in the f-4e folder and they show up. Both the Grey and the Camo skins are in play. The description.lua calls out the bird as "GER" so I changed them to "USA" but that was a "NO GO" Now I want to add some US squadrons with skins in game but I cannot get them to show up in the USA drop down list in the ME. I am missing a country.lua or something that defines which air frames are allowed for each Country. It may come down to just building an AI mod for the Phantom so I can build some Old School Weasels in the air such as F-4G and some some recon RF-4 birds? I have not addressed load outs, tail numbers, or decals yet. Where am I missing the Rosetta Stone at?
  4. I have been doing AI SEAD packages out ahead of the Hogs and I have yet to see them launch a AGM88. They will shot both Mavs and then bail as you describe. Seems that it might be the HARMs.
  5. What is the official specification for custom map area? From what I can tell the current map covers a total area of approx 310,460 mi sq. North 430 miles West 722 miles Is this the upper limit? In this pic I have broken down the same size map area as we have in Georgia. The most efficient way to do this would be to have 5 teams working in support of a master terrain mesh. Team 1 and 2 are working on an area about 322 km X 322 km the other are close to the same area. Team 4 can expand into England as much as they like. This is a result of me sitting down for an hour and just brainstorming. Updates would consist of each team submitting their work to the master map on a regular bases and each release would focus on airfields, cities, roads, and vegetation. Any and all feedback is welcome.
  6. TacView has already settle a debate within our squadron. No more fish stories and no more excuses. Thanks for your hard work and keep it coming. The only thing I would like to add would be a standard report of who, shot what, was hit by, and if they failed to observe such things as the hard deck of 2000 ft. Be nice to have a series of attributes to pick from.
  7. I was told that I did not see this in the sky. The Truth is out there!
  8. Same here. We have 4 of us all crashing at sign in. I understand that this is a beta but at least acknowledge the bug ED and give a proximate time or explanation so we can adjust our time?
  9. I stand corrected and glad to be wrong. Thanks for the post BIGNEWY and Ducky!
  10. I guess I need to clarify a bit. "it" does not mean model, or functional air frame, nor does it define EDs requirements. Forgive me now if my observations are wrong: IRIS, from what I can tell does not have any of there birds in DCS. They recently stated that the Tomcat is going to be first due to the AFM hurdles with the F22 and the F15 Echo becoming an ED bird. No shots of the Mig-21 in DCS at this time. The Hawk is the only one that I believe has been imported and looks great. I am excited for the Typhoon also. Yet all 3 of these project developers have forums. Razbam has not stated which one of their birds is first, so how does the term "it" define or answer the question? Hopefully it is the Corsair. I am looking for a definitive answer and not speculation. Nothing more, nothing less. It is great that you are willing to speak up, but the question needs someone in the know to answer. impressive number of posts thou.
  11. What exactly defines POC in ED terms? I do not see anything that states imported model, or functional aircraft? Where did you see this definition Jona?
  12. Where are you flying the Phantom at? Did you rap the F-4 around the F-15?
  13. cichlidfan: Now you’re talking all crazy. That is way too simple. You know that we have to make everything difficult. :)
  14. Great! Thanks for the fast reply. I guess it is on them to make this happen. :)
  15. Just wondering when your going to move them to the dev cat? Sucks to drill into the DCS forum to look them up.
  16. You have read my mind. I was thinking of setting up key focus areas and then adding in the populated areas as they are finished. The first phase could be one that caters to CA and all aircraft mods. For example: The British occupied area could be done by a British focused team and objects and infrastructure could become a global library for all teams. There are allot of Cold War era aircraft in the pipeline and it would be a shame to not have a place where they fit in. My avatar was from my team’s development of the A-7D Corsair before Ron went to market with his. I have all of the models and it was imported to X-plane and FSX but Real Life stepped in and we stopped development.
  17. Hopefully it turns into "lets get off our butts and do something about it" thread. :)
  18. The Fulda region would be sweet. Bitburg, Spangdahlem, Ramstein, Hohn, Oldenburg, Brüggen, Gütersloh, Rhein-Main to name a few. Might start on base development and key features such as German landmarks, castles, and bridges? To include Aircraft shelters, bunkers, and Nike Hercules sites? Would be a very grand effort but well worth it. Would be nice to split it up between teams.
  19. This is just the motivation I need to get my pit on wheels! Glad to see you guys supporting us pit builders. Looking forward to showing off my pit.
  20. A-7D and K! Then I can get my cockpit integration started! Woot! BTW Your FSX Corsairs are awesome and I wish FSX was not so fail because I love your work!
