  1. do we see in the video 1.14 there is some canards element in the T50?)) or is this canard embedded in the wing and activates when needed.. )lol.. anyway, its true most of what they say, characteristics are great, no major problems, engines even this as they are provide super cruise flight, and 500 missions flown seems right as they made about 4 planes by now or is it 3..in duration of 5-6 years that would mean 20 flights per year for each on average .. extensive testing no big deal..
  2. Obama forbids the military to read the un-constitutional acts the US government performed on the internet.. http://www.wnd.com/2013/06/military-told-not-to-read-obama-scandal-news/ on a side note, is Obama afraid the Military might perform coup d'eta cuz of constitutional breaches? ..
  3. i agree with those that say optimization is a must and is the most problematic part of ED..they don't have the skills to do this, today's computers are strong enough to do a DC but only if you employ the CPU correctly if not the whole thing freezes and dies in the first minutes of the mission.. i still think mixing "C&C" style of gaming together with 3D flying plane is the way to go, it employs the CPU better(CPU is best for number crunching which is exactly what you want in big ,medium war where thousands of troops duke it out, while graphics is for planes looking sweet and throwing bombs and missiles that look good as well.. so to make the targets on the ground much much more "simplified" and more "static" while still moving would make 3D engine run well, while the C&C strategic map where you guide your war would run smoothly and provide information that you need to actually wage war.. the flying part is more of a lesser work, where you do this small part in a small part of the map..and then this info is registered on the map, and AI incorporated.. i hope.things get better.. ED deserves this..
  4. we know the problems in having dynamic campaign.. processor power is weak, memory problems, many many many units necessary to simulate anything close to a real war..and have that in such a way computer doesn't die in the first minute of simulation.. so, i thought, would you like the idea of "Tac View" the DCS a little bit wit strategic and tactical options that would not be graphical or processor intensive but still serve their need.. first the map needs to have better roads, like small village roads, medium quality free highways and the major arteries highways that would be the most important to support logistically the ground forces.. since we can't have Dynamic campaign with thousands of trucks driving through the roads delivering goods and fuel, food, ammo to the troops on front lines etc.. and we can't "save" this result so to play next time and see further development in fighting i thought why not have a couple of "points" in the highways that would act as points where you hit them (graphically this could just be big red circle bullseye points that can be seen painted on the highway).. time loitering over this and dropping ordnance would mean less efficient fighting units on front line of the enemy, morale drop, lower threshold of unit withdrawal from fighting because of lack of supplies.. ..and this puts us to the next point, the infantry and ground vehicles fighting.. for now it seems any Arma fighting is off limits for DCS for considerable future, not even going in the details of logistics, recon redistribution and the rest.. so, if we can't simulate all that, could we do similar to logistic option and have "template" divisions, or battalions that either entrench (when not moving), attack-on the move, and dig in-urban environment .. this units wouldn't even need to be simulated to fire weapons, or be killed, maybe some smoke to give a sense if the unit is destroyed or not, after certain "damage is done" they either withdraw, try to find cover, or disperse-get shattered.. on TAC view we would see this much clearly than on graphical world, so this would make it much easier for the computer since more or less we would be playing full fledged Tactical/Strategic game with an option in flying high fidelity Sims planes and bombing more or less "static" targets that would be transmitted in Tac View to whole plattons being wiped out, or advancing and taking a quarter in the city, taking the whole city, having full supply, medium supply, low supply, zero supply-chance of shattering as time progresses.. what i want to say, obviously i rather have high-fidelity everything from GAZ trucks to T-90, Abrams, and every machine gun fire bullets, and missiles, and RPG, but sadly this cannot be done in such a great scale to make any "war simulation" playable.. or we can have high-fidelity stuff but play a war with 3 tanks, 5 APC, 4 planes and 1 Awacs as the blue force and same for the red.. meaning its more of a skirmish that involves for some reason air forces and other high-tech elements of fighting a war.. So, would you "sacrifice" graphic development especially of complex huge combination of ground units(plattons+armoured units, APC+Recon)etc.. that would give much more in a way of actual capability(apart from SAM activity this should be devoid of this so we can simulated and operate SAMs ourselves in a more high-fidelity way plus be able to hit them with planes and avoid them etc.. while hitting other "template" divisions would be more of a moving "template" that you hit with A10,Su25 and after getting hit the division analyses what to do, withdraw, try to seek cover in city ..what this would mean in actual graphic world is,if this "template" is entrenched in city it would be lets say harder to get a kill of certain unit.. if on the open one mav would kill 1 tank, in city you would fire 2 mavs to get a kill even though you locked the target etc.. what i'm trying to say is, yes it would be "arcade" in a way but actually more realistic in gameplay way.. sadly we can't do hi-fidelity EVERYTHING and have it in such sufficient numbers to simulate whole divisions moving and needing supply etc.. but with this system you still get satisfaction when after releasing your ordnance with your teammates you get to your tac view or command view etc, you see the division took 36% loss, its level is RED for morale, Orange on supply, and is about to be encircled by your friendly "division" template that just took the highway "point" thus breaking them from supply.. all this could even be played directly through this Command view, without graphic engine working.. or could be enjoyed by jumping in attack aircrafts or fighters to help the attack CAS do their mission first.. just trying to imagine a short-cut that makes simulation of huge big number of divisions moving, cooperating (all this taking time for organizing attack, countdown, cool-down) and this can be seen in command center.. plus flying recon planes close to enemy "division templates" would give some info for their "status) .." so it would bring some elements of recon flights into the system.. what do you think.. would you be able to sacrifice the 1 tank hi-fidelity kill for this more "cartoonish" yet more able to simulate large forces movement and capturing points system? ..
  5. i would like to imagine the left "additional" stick is for moving the camera when attacking ground targets.. i always thought how hard is it to sleeve the systems used to observe and target ground targets.. maybe they said why bother with small buttons on the stick and just use the whole stick for BIG movements and then use the button on the stick for gentle movements.. with this you can move fast and find, zoom, inspect all kind of terrain in front of you before you fly over it and endanger your craft.. when flying Su-25 i always had this problem, first of all its fast, so you don't have much time to play with "inspecting the terrain" by using your "FLIR", and when you do know where the target is its still hard to sleeve to the target and lock it in fast way.. maybe this stick is for that.. to make the rafale faster in acquisition of targets or some other "move requirement operations" ..
  6. sweet. air shows.. isn't this year also time for MAKS? ..2013 .. lots of fun ahead then..
  7. @GG .. firing massive "pollution" rays into the sky or just using other electro-magnetic pollution that is filling the sky makes a F22 flying through it visible.but for radar to see it it needs huge computational power, greater algos, better cooperation with other radars trying to see the small difference that are happening as f22 plows through this.. this is not radar technology per se as its computer technology.. if F-117 could be targeted with an old ass system under total air dominance and total suppression of SAMs .. i just can't see how you can be so confident about the imposibility of getting F22 on radar.. its quite a sight i must admit.. to me, its fairly easy to see that radar tech will develop at increasing speed-when i say radar i don't mean the active one or this or that one, the whole spectrum of rays thrown into the air in one way or the others.. maybe photon-ray will be the way.. who knows.. what i'm saying is, it will be cheaper to make that crap that to make the f22..
  8. so stealthy missiles for you is a by-product of getting better radars that can pick up normal missiles..because they are on radar they have become stealthy?.. as far as i understand there are normal missiles and they there are new generation of missiles with a reduced RCS.. this are stealthy missiles that supposedly Pantsir and S-300 will not see so all that SDB and other nonsense other people write can come true and actually bomb something called air defence system..otherwise every single piece of metal will be intercepted)) if missiles have bigger RCS than F22 than here you go, proof F22 is not stealthy.. how will F22 fire a missile at an enemy without alerting them where the fire has come from.. enemy can fire a pre-programmed shot in that direction at a time delay of 0.3 seconds-computer response after first warning, and there you go.. F22 more stealthy than Amraam, but sadly Amraam will light up the screen, give the altitude, bearing, speed..everything of the raptor.. enemy can have programmed response to fire 4 missiles in a direction of F22 in such a way to cover all exit routes and the central point from where it was fired.. it makes sense that missiles will become much stealthier than F22 and other stealth planes since its a requisite for stealthy planes to make sense.. unless you think F22 pressing the fire button immediately makes the enemy vaporize with a time delay of 0.000001 seconds right?)) you talk about radar as this old thing that all you can do is increase frequency and get better displays to show radar blips.. its much more than that as you know, radars are already being connected in a grid, with higher computational power this will mean in a small time frame of 5-10 years radars will be able to see the "anomaly" that the other radar couldn't.. and vice versa.. making stealth planes as visible as a B-52.. what then.. jamming? and proving stealth is a failure.. to me stealth looks like a big Reagan SDI )) a big FU to Russia and China to blow their money)) EU hasn't followed suit, i think wisely..
  9. @GG ..you haven't read what i wrote.. Radar is developing much faster than now already stagnant shape of F22.. this is the problem with stealth.. when you do it, its done, it better works or you just spent billions of dollars for nothing.. Radars developing at accelerated speed, computational power, and all kind of new novelties that will be going online in the next few years and keep coming online.. while F22 remains the same.. unless you think F22 will be brought to the mechanic "pimp up my plane" shop to get a new nose or something.. this is a lost cause.. and this german and dutch product has shown it clearly.. About how high the missile flies.. i don't know where they measure it, it could be some over-the-horizen capability of the radar..don't know.. but usually anti-ship and cruise missiles don't cruise at 20.000 feet now do they..
  10. @wasserfall.. i have been trying to reason the great one called GG but to no avail.. ))
  11. @maturlin.. yeah i kinda agree with you, .. shield is easier to make than the sword.. alway has been always will be like this.. stealth is very expensive and much harder to maintain than lets say ever increasing developments in radar field.. today's radars are all digital, and much computer power goes to go through complex algo's to determine and calculate even the slighties blip that radar detects and see if this is a target or not.. meaning, as time goes by, and computer power increases considerably Radars will be able to see stealth as easy as a barn door in the sky.. while making new developments in stealth becomes unprofitable and hugely expensive.. there is only so much you can do with design of the airplane, but radar, much different proposition.. radars like computers will see huge boom in capabilities in the next 20 years, much less can be said for stealth developments which remains much more stagnant-F-22 shape isn't changing for the duration of F22 career )) while radars do..
  12. @GG ... Raptor is more stealthy than STEALTH missile.. i'm not talking about a NON-Stealthy missile but a STEALTHY one.. so you are claiming F-22, a 20 meters long craft has less RCS than a Stealthy modern missile that measures 0.4 meters in diameters ))) lol.. good one.. i wouldn't be so sure.. a Frigate detecting this missile at 65 km, really makes the whole Raptor Pitch lame a little bit.. especially since the anti-ship stealthy missile is probably flying low while Raptor flies at what now..40.000-60.000 feet?)) ..
  13. just found something about L-band radars, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SMART-L if this ship can track a "stealth" missile at 65 km, does that mean it will track Raptor at 150km??.. i'm assuming the stealth missile will have drastically lower RCS than Raptor, considering the size, materials, and other advanced stuff to make the missile less visible to radar.. Have L-band radars progressed so much stealth is only good for fighting 3rd world nations? .. if so, wow, what a good pyramid scam US did and got Russian and China on board and spending billions of $ on steath.. )) Maybe Europe was the smartest sticking with Tiffy..
  14. i had immense problems in this sam deployment thing before i realized my mistake -not in the same group.. you have to click on SA-11 for instance.. then after you put it on the map just click the button to increase the amount of SA-11's.. to 4 units for example..all same units..of course this will not work since you need search radar, tracking etc.. no problem,..after you have 4 units of same stuff just click on any of them and change them into what you want.. ergo the whole 4 units stay in same group while you make the composition that you want.. it would be nice if DCS makes it easier to do this for newbies .. like just click SA-11 and you get your template-which you can increase and modify as you wish.. and max ranges of how far can you put the launchers from the radar etc.. this would be nice..
  15. haha, Kvochur The Legend.. this guy is great, great pilot, charisma, humble by nature and a true professional.. loved watching the original interview on the original 1995 Flanker game... or was that on some other documentary?..cuz on Flanker game there was a clip of the Su-27 flying acrobatics in some airshow.. and can't remember for sure if there was a interview as well or did i see it somewhere else?.. Anyway, Hail Kvochur the Legend..
  16. boys, girls, no need to get upset, Israel will not get destroyed because of a couple of s300 systems in Syria.. and no Israeli civilian airplanes are getting shot, you do realize before the outbreak in 2011 in Syria there were many planes going to Israel while flying over Syria.. are you saying Syria couldn't shoot them down? they didn't because thats a war crime, .. The only lunatics that are capable of shooting civilian plane down are the one that Isral is arming today in Syria-wahabi-salafi alah-snackbars.. EU embargo for weapons has fallen meaning they will get all the fancy gadgets to kill all targets in sight.. including armed with modern manpads.. if i were israel i'd worry for my wahabi friends and their weapons than responsible Syrian armed forces that have yet to retaliate for Israeli 3 attacks by now-which constitute an act of war by international law.. And here, we sadly see some people trying to say Israel is endangered and cannot live with s300 in Syria?)) thats sad, .. to be armed with 200 nukes, US support, iron dome, modern air force, UN council immunity, and still be afraid on a couple of system s300 in syria? It just shows how much confidence Israel has in itself. and i think this is the biggest loss in Israel right now, them showing to the world how low their confidence in their nation, their country, their armed forces is.. its ultra low.. @marcos.. i agree, i vote for 48H6E2 Secretary of UN Council.. Again, people are arguing this is a threat cuz MAYBE a civilian plane could be targeted.. all this is a MAYBE, a potentiality that is YET to happen, while Israeli planes ACTUALLY ALREADY violated airspace of Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, and bombed targets, killed people while NOT being attacked in the first place-ergo committing and act of aggression .. i talk to many people, and many people see through this "israel is under attack and threatened BS".. but some still peddle the nazi thinking of pre-emptive attacks..even though this is forbidden by international law.. somebody mentioned what would happen if Israel would kill Russia technicians.. well, remember what happened when Georgia launched a massive MLRS attack on a city where Russian peacekeepers were and killed 50 outright? ..same thing but with more dangerous consequence for the whole world because Israel is armed with nukes.. I figure a Tu-160 would be called for to retaliate with cruise missiles and hit army barracks (this should pay back for 50 Russian specialist plus another 200 soldiers for interest cost ) .. If at this point US doesn't run around screaming STOP STOP, we would see a Israeli retaliation and since they are the paranoid and unrestrained kind of a species they could contemplate a nuke strike with their german donated Dolphin subs in the Black sea and hit something in Western part of Russia.. at this point Russia would be mad as hell and could very well start lobbing ICBMs and if US would get involved put US on the list as well and the whole charade called civilization could end in 25 minutes... My guess is US officials told ISrael to shut up, and they did, they made many comments lately how their THREAT wasn't intended for Russians, and how ISrael is usually over-confident but not so much after all to kill Russians.. and explained in detail how they are going to wait patiently until Russian technicians take off back to Russia and then attack the system.. but somehow before its assembled .. now thats one hell of a acrobatic move by ISrael.. how they gonna accomplish this is beyond me.. The system will be very much hidden by the time Russians depart.. My guess is, Israel will employ their mercs such as Al-Nusra terrorist groups to go and hunt S-300 on the ground.. Israeli new guided munitions-alah snackbar, each "missile" costs one Koran and 100 USD)) .. Syria knows this, they flirted to the terrorist a "radar dish" and drew them into a valley and finished them off... it would seem Al-Nusra has a priority now, its not syrian armour units, or infantry but radar defense)) i wonder why and i wonder by whom are they guided)lol..
  17. @GG ..lol) yeah, i agree with most what you wrote.. about Vietnam, yeah its different age, no Kub's only Goa's)) what was interesting to me was how a very small number of planes were destroyed by Goa's but it made many changes in operations so planes started flying low to hide from the long-range sams..thus exposing themselves to triple A instead.. this made it a paradox situation, where if one flies high yes, more planes would be lost to SAM but much less then if one tries to avoid SAM and goes into the AAA range.. AAA by evidence is much more dangerous and obviously cheaper and destroyed much more planes (well with a help of SAM also, since with no SAM there would be no need to crawl on the ground-in this regard SAM did the psychological thing that otherwise wouldn't) ... About sorties flown, yeah, i agree, quite successful .. but that is because the force that backs this up is US economy..which can replace all those losses and continue un-abated.. Vietnam was close to being an attrition war for the US.. the budget deficit exploded following almost a hyper--inflation period that was resolved only by the mighty -i have much balls- Volker who raised the interest so high he nearly killed the economy, but he brought the inflation back to manageable levels.. all this was an after-effect of playing attrition war with high-tech gadgets.. of course such schenenegins are out of the picture for lesser nations like Syria, Italy, Israel, Iran, Spain.. such nations have what they have in stores.. if this gets blown up its gone for good..unless your "sponsor" daddy comes and brings you new toys.. agree, politics leads to the dark side.. what the hell leads to the light side then? they never explained that one.. damn, no wonder all we got from star wars is the dark side in the world.. they forgot the instructions for the light side.. ah, yoda, too much nonsense you talk, too little directions for finding the light side you gave..
  18. you want to have the option to loiter when dealing with an invasion..something NATO is actually planning quite well.. there are patriots systems ringed all around syria borders.. i wonder why? There are 15.000 US soldeirs in Jordan right now.. to me this looks like invasion in order.. which means lots of CAS planes LOITERING.. which means S-300 is what increases stability as it prevents an invasion.. unless you think a woman unarmed is more repellent to a rapist than one carrying a 9mm .. @invader.. am, well, its funny you mention that, all that hezbollah talk is just an excuse.. Israel hit Army units, a chicken hen, and a normal army depot .. how is that involved with hezbollah..and even if it is, unless hezbollah fires at israel, attacks israel, violates israeli airspace or ground space there is no DANGER to israel ..right? I mean this is like talking Russia is in danger because Germany sold some weapons to South Korea.. ?!?!? what.. Unless South Korea attacks Russia there is NOTHING Russia should do.. Again, please do not try to justify pre-emptive attacks, they are a WAR CRIME by UN .. acknowledge after the 2WW.. by acknowledging them you are breaking more rules and even forum rules than possibly imagining .. So, lets stay grounded on topic and talk REAL threats and real invasions.. So far, Syria and Hezbollah haven't invaded anyone but are in a fight for survival.. Israel is in no danger of being attacked, but the chances of their aggression has diminished severely.. and that is a stabilizing effect.. especially if you live in Syria now..
  19. fair enough.. okei.. so dense corridor vs. loose corridor... thats not the point.. who cares about corridors or even targets to bomb.. its about psychology.. its about being able to waltz in enemy air space and basically loiter without worries.. this is what israel wants and this is what normally Syria doesn't want-as any other nation would obviously.. S-300 just makes it much more possible that any such "loiter" doesn't exist.. even previous israeli bombings were much less loiter than they would like because of SAMs.. its basically hit-and-run tactics.. fly to the border without crossing it, throw bunch of guide ammo and break low to hide from possible retaliation.. thats far from actually being in enemy air space doing any worthwhile tactical operation not mentioning CAS operation that is even more important in all-out war.. about Israeli success in dealing with systems.. i don't know if that hold water.. i know of israeli 30 planes lost when they tried to knock of 1 single KUB system in egypt.. about those sams lost in syria in 80's.. many agree syrians did terrible mistakes like having sam's in valleys, not deploying decoys, not moving actually preferring the sam's be immobilized than having them mobilized, and of course the last fun part ALWAYS have radar ON.. it was like they were trying to piss off the russians and their lectures they receive on proper sam deployment.. Vietnamese learned better even though their education level was lower than Syrians .. So, again, S-300 role is already accomplished.. its psychological.. can it be destroyed?of course, thats not the point, but there will be losses, and this is what Israel cannot have.. imagine seeing 6 planes shot down, 4 pilots captured, 2 dead.. its a no-go.. and just like that further violation of syrian air space is prevented and stability in region is increased.. i say this is good news for every person living and intent with staying alive..
  20. @gg .. 4 systems.. 200 missiles i think.. spread across Syria.. supported by BUK, Pechora, Pantsir .. not a speed bump .. but the hardest thing will be determining when Russians have LEFT the system and Syrians are now operating it.. i can't see what kind of intelligence one needs to determine this successfully.. unless one has a cell phone number of the Russian technician running the system i think possibility of hitting the system before Russians leave is big.. meaning after Israel launches attack and lets say kills 40 Russians, a Russian Tu-160 could easily fly through Iran-Iraq-and drop 200 cruise missiles and kill 500 israeli soldiers.. whats next? more retaliation? WIll US be okei with world ending because a spoiled brat can't live with itself knowing they don't have free skies in Syria to bomb and abuse at their will? .. I really hope for world peace US has the guts and balls to stand to Israel and tell them to stand the H down.. or they might just as well become Georgia 2.0.. but with more radiation released in the worlds atmosphere
  21. @invader.. there are tons of excuses which are REAL why S-300 would get destroyed if that is to happen.. there is a ground war happening making moving of SAM hard.. there is huge strain put on army making SAM operations difficult, there is number superiority on Israel side, there is lack of any AIR force on the part of Syria to make the s-300 work as intended.. many many things.. if, and that is a big IF, s-300 gets destroyed it wouldn't prove anything.. most likely IF Israel decides to do kamikazi it will be when they get intel where the system is, and then attack it with 100 planes, 200 drones, jammers, awacs, tomahawks ))) lol.. and then they will say, you see, s300 is nothing))
  22. @marcos.. i agree with your analysis.. also, its laughable when one tries to portray Israel as a victim here.. Hezbollah is not a terrorist organization and hasn't attacked Israel, and hasn't killed israelis for a long time, they are loyal to the idea that they will not bow down to israel..if this is what stands today for being a terrorist then i am a terrorist as well... while at the same time real terrorist-like nusra front in syria which contains elements of wahabi-salafist jihadist nutcases who have cut heads and eaten organs from PoWs.. are what? friends of israel?)) its lunatic statements when one tries to apologise the "rebels" while claiming Assad threatens israel.. IF there are decoys it will be hard to destroy S-300 ..you can put many fake S-300 across Syria and make sure lots of ammo and lots of aircraft exposure is done before you get to the real S-300 .. plus S-300 is not suited to protect syria from one-time israeli raids where jets fire missiles while still in lebanon or israeli airspace..this system is for IF NATO assaults and planes are doing CAS for the terrorists.. than its much easier to down 40 planes in 1 minutes..pack up the radar and change location.rinse and repeat and the whole CAS campaign grinds to a halt.. S-300 will not be used to hunt cruise missiles ..to wasteful for that.. about pre-emptive nazi thinking..its dangerous.. i can claim i am threatened by you, so i wanna pre-emptively punch you in the face.. see? it gets ugly real fast..
  23. @ich .. yes, i agree, like the US Patriot missiles in Turkey-Syria border, and Jordan-Syria border and Israeli-Syria border (israel put iron dome and some other systems) .. please, no politics here..and double standards is the wh*re of politics..
  24. @mili.. first of all, they, israeli didn't have problems killing civilians in international waters transporting medicine and food, ..this is not politics just facts.. and this "threat" was meant for Russia not Syria.. Once system is deployed Israel knows they missed the chance to get an "easy kill" which they are gunning for always.. The only easy kill is by attacking the transport ship in international waters and murdering sailors on it.. Again, this system is not a threat to Israel, it does prevent Israel superiority in bombing Syria.. is that really a DANGER to Israel? i don't think so.. its like, i want to have total dominance when it comes to slapping you, so i am bothered by the fact you don't have your hands tied up.. Syria is not able to do offensive action towards ISrael, so this is all Israel going war-mode for some reason and yes, THREATENING even Russia.. i just wonder who else will they threaten next.. Great China with 1.3 billion population.. its funny man...its funny .. i do hope US military are signalling Israelis not to push their luck.. as they did with Georgia gambit.. or should i say gamble...
