  1. amazing news.. woow, DCS Su-27 and F-15 )) awesome stuff.. If the Su-27 is at least a SM version i think this will make the Su-27 quite the bombardier compared to what it offers now.. maybe even guided bombs ability and some SEAD ability as well..
  2. oh man, memories indeed, remember playing the crap out of the first original Flanker back in 1996-97.. Always printed out the debriefing so i can store it as evidence of my magic flying skills)lol.. I liked the small things that made me love flanker even more..like flying with Su-27 and then seeing on the radar a contact for a brief moment, and i could actually lock it for a second before loosing the lock..it was the S-300 missile before it accelerated too much and i lost lock)) .. I'm glad ED survived the difficult times in '90s.. and hope they just keep getting stronger, bigger and better.. and rightfully richer!..
  3. i think ED lacks the business tricks such as selling in small parts a one piece.. make things optional as much as you can, thus selling individual parts of the same module for instance cheaper but when you put all parts together you get to the A-10C selling for 120 USD.. what i mean is having A-10C module that would cost 40 $ but would not be able to use night vision gear, or certain types of weapons, or radio, or this elements would be simulated more arcade like.. So if you want better fidelity of the said module you pay 5 bucks more to get this system etc.. Advertising industry does this all the time, give people a "choice" so they end up with more freedom and thus in the end make it possible to empower them when they make a purchase more.. then couple this with the buyer psyche of wanting the whole thing-like solving a puzzle or wanting to "finish those lines in tetris)" one continues buying in an effort to finally have all the puzzle done.. And what is best it can be done over time, so if a person really can't afford spending 120 USD for A-10C one can start with 45 USD and in one year slowly one part after another and you get to full worth of the high fidelity system. I'm not saying do it exactly as i said here, but use such a system since it works in other industries that sell products to people.. it also empowers the buyers to be more "precise" like a smart guided bomb and go where they will do most of the damage.. if someone just wants to fly high-fidelity A-10C and hear the cannon go BRrrrrrrr,Brrrrr, Brrrrr but not wanting to pay for other high fidelity systems in the A-10C that are in the end part of the price why not enable this person-noob as it is but still-an opportunity to buy this "stripped down" A-10C and enjoy his Brrrrrr runs.. after awhile he will get itchy.. and think to himself.. hmm, i wonder how a cluster bomb goes.. and he goes for it.. etc etc.. Same is with cars, very few people buy the whole thing money up front.. and even when buying a car there are many choices of getting the car with better engine, better sound system, navigation, etc etc.. if you can't afford it you pay less for a lesser version .. It works, .. and i hope ED maximises this to full extent.. it will be good for them and us as customers..
  4. @tusler .. i agree, the most detailed simulation of helicopter... of course Black Shark is also the most detailed simulation but of co-axial design here we have the standard design simulated.. so we are lucky to have ED around to give us the 2 most detailed and amazing simulations of helicopter design.. to test it on our own and get a feel of it.. simply astonishing.. when i see this and realize what a small community we are and then see the CoD and BF3 community and how much money their design and developer make while ED has to make much less it makes me sad a little bit.. so much more detail, so much dedication and fidelity and the reward goes to the Cod and BF bunch.. ED deserves(Belsimtek) millions of USD for their efforts.. Hope our sim base enlarges or something.. ED deserves it..
  5. i guess a precaution can be taken and after you go silent move your SAM to another position just to be sure to have a new-stealthy position. never use your radar and then turning it off while still being in the same position. once you give away your position its over..
  6. I think its good to do some WWII fighters and bombers.. hell even making an simplified models for the masses can do miracles for other DCS modules since that would mean more $$$ which is ever so important. I can't stop thinking what ED could accomplish DCS wise if they had a CoD size community.. my god that would be just awesome.. with that much money they could i think start modelling infantry on the ground and enable full fidelity combat from person-shooter to APC to tanks, AD, CAS, the whole command structure.. not to mention the maps which would be wow.. the trick is how do you join two world together or juggle between the two successfully .. (the DCS world and the "arcade" world to increase profits..)..
  7. get some pictures, videos.. ))
  8. the whole cockpit is surreal.. i mean if DCS would have 3D goggles support and one can immerse itself soo much into this cockpit that he may never get out )) Just love it, those buttons, dammit those sexy buttons are just asking for some serious clicking.. but as i understand they are not to be for clicking but watching.. man i'm going to be drooling over the screen in the next few weeks..
  9. as title says.. awesome stuff.. http://www.tomshardware.com/news/PhysX-Water-Physics-PBF-PBD,22224.html
  10. as long as you have your approach pretty much aligned to the runway you shouldn't have too much difficulty in releasing weapon on the runway.. but if you are twitching and making small adjustments then probably you are banking a little bit to the left of right which is enough to make the bomb miss the whole airstrip and make a big hole in the grass instead))
  11. what happened to those A-6 intruders who crashed in italy when they hit ski-cables.. i can only assume the A-6 got his tail clipped and crashed cuz of that.. if thats so, should it be okei for planes to cut through electrical wires in DCS without crashing..
  12. @yellonet .. especially at night.. the nuke would be seen almost in any part of the DCS map right now )) especially if detonated in the middle of the map.. but, it wouldn't be realistic, cuz if nukes are used, even tac. nukes in real life and even in simulated world you would have to simulate a retaliation, and then increase of yield in further retaliation thus ending the whole fiasco in 3 hour later with message "Game over!" . . .
  13. a little different question, don't wanna open a new thread for this.. but if anybody knows: Do helicopters form the spearhead in attacking enemy ground units especially in CAS roles or are they used only to mop-up whatever is left after CAS planes do their things? .. I mean, to me helis are much more destructive and more precise than CAS planes, they have drawbacks such as time to deployment zone is bigger, .. apart from that are CAS planes preferred? I see CAS planes as more of a resource to be used to over-turn a loosing battle into a winning one or at least prevent total annihilation of the friendly platoon .. So planes can reach that critical place much faster on the account they are faster.. but simple destruction of enemy ground units on the move or waiting in supply areas i think helis are better suited for the role.. what do you guys think? .. i ask this to know how to make a mission.. and what is more realistic.. lets say you have 400 enemy ground units .. with a normal layer of units (MBT,APC,IFV,AD,etc) .. what would be the work load of your assets to destroy such a force? (10 A-10c/Su-25?, 40 Ka-50,Apache's?).. or in percentage terms would the planes be 60% and helis 40%? .. or vice versa..
  14. well, i think using a 240kT nuke is too strong, 240 is way to powerful to be used in DCS.. a small tactical 5 kT is okei, .. 240kT is already a massive strategic ordnance .. capable of levelling New York.. or any major big city.. Not to mention the devastation this would bring to the atmosphere and radiation thrown in the air and later rains down in even bigger dispersed area .. Small tac. nukes from 2-5 kT are okei.. they would still be very strong in an essence they would level any major village..
  15. for amphibious and naval ops ED would need totally new sea engine, to make the sea much more interactive ..
  16. wasn't there a case of apache helis crashing when hitting in wires in albania during the Yugoslavia '99 war of aggression? ..
  17. @tootall ..the problem is timing, how long before this is done.. i think ED risks more damage by letting us known their plans if those plans are like 5 years down the line plans.. i don't think simmers patient as they are have such patience to wait for so long.. if we don't get something by the summer i think the community might start to rebel and crack under pressure..
  18. yeah, i also think this is an upgrade of the old 3d model than making an actual DCS modul to fly by customers.. it would be awesome though.. this thing is amazing, fast as hell, good payload, great range.. looking menacing.. but the big pleasure would only come if they model the 4 crew interaction in a simulation-gameplay-sensible way.. so you get to learn stuff, like who does what, how to communicate with them.. and then how to use all that to do your job-bombing,missile attacks etc.. but again, such long range bombers are only good for a map that covers lets say 4000kmX2500km ..
  19. @echomastermind.. yes,the reason why the baby-blue colour is because it has been proven psychologically it soothes and calmes the mind of the pilot better than if it is pitch black.. it makes sense, who has pitch dark walls in the living room, or any other room for that matter.. Russians have always tried to soothe the pilots, submariners lives.. I still can't forget seeing a pool in the Typhoon and sauna )) or the Su-34 with a WC and a small kitchen.. personally i like the colour.. having it all met black is just depressing..
  20. for some reason i'm fed up with bombing huts and mig-21 with F-22)) thats why i prefer western europe theater.. i mean its modern, i can't imagine the feeling of flying F-15 through Munchen, or Paris.. and a well modelled Paris and Berlin.. thats unheard of.. i think it would also be more balanced as in HARD to win since both sides would be on the same tech level.. bombing Iran or Pakistan is very easy for the Blue force.. but try France vs. Germany and you have 50:50 chance of dying and succeeding..
  21. @stickers)) hahah.. yeah, i agree, i guess ATC would feel like nobody respects his "authoritaaa")) .. hei where are you going, and you are landing just like that.. but on the other hand, all this taxing nonsense takes time, fuel, and just looks funny if you have lets say 100 helis in the airfield.. and 24/7 operation going on.. is it safer if they taxi etc..yes..but it just looks like they are not using their one and only ability of why they are the way they are-which is being helicopters.. its like seeing harrier landing with a tail-hook on nimitz.. why?!? )) maybe if heli-fields would be designed better to make sure this taxing is not needed it would be better.. just serve the heli when its down and engine shut and put barricades around it so you are not disturbed by other helis landing-taking off in close vicinity and speed up the take off-landing routine that helicopters rightfully should have an advantage vs. fixed wings crafts..
  22. The Nevada map is what it is, it could be used for training but seems like a waste to be used for training only.. so, how to conceive it in a war scenario..? well, any kind of wolverine scenario is stupid, so i'm for a civil war in the 1970's or 1980's..where all kind of models that dcs would have in the future would come alive.. something like Cali declares independence, Washington sends army to crush the rebellion, Cali plus alliance of the "willing"-UK,France,Germany help California fight with their weapons etc.. and we get to have a weird scenario where gambling can be more than just playing black jack but also flying a plane))
  23. yes to those high ASL airfields it makes sense to get some runway boost to be able to take off and land easily. and safety procedures probably are the reason why some runway approaches are needed.. but if you have a flight of 4 choppers.. do they really need to land 1 BY 1.. and not something like all 4 of them in formation .. if planes can land in formation 2(1 next to another) i can't imagine helicopters having problems with 1 behind the other (lets say 500 meters behind) ..which would make the whole 4 choppers land in record time considering the DCS approach of helicopters where 1 lands and others are chopping at ATC nerves around the airfield, .. ))
  24. ..need to take off from the runway or can they take of from the parking place where they stand?.. Since in DCS we have this approach from helicopters that mimics airplanes-take off and landing and taxiing to their respective destination.. is this really how they do it in real life.. isn't this just a big waste of fuel and time and pretty much everyone's nerves? .. I would like to see the helicopter go to the parking place while still being in air and then just land right there on the empty spot. done. next. i just can't watch 4 helicopters doing circles around airfield while 1 helicopter lands as if its a Boeing 747 .. )) ..then the other one comes in.. geeesh, do take your time.. is this really how in real life they do it, or is this just badly scripted AI?

    Man of Steel

yup, put some kryptonite instead of DU and A-10 will kill him Super-fast.. actually superman is not so super anyway.. as long as nobody knows his weak point-kryptonite he is actually the weakest super-character out there..
