I did that and everything is set to "simulation". I never use the "game" mode. Thing is, I then got in the F-16 and then the FA-18, and both of their trims work. So I tried the F-5 again, but had the same issue; my trim button is obviously working because it makes the trim button in the cockpit work. But for certain airplanes, it has no affect. Don't know why, it certainly use to work. I'm at a loss on this one. It has to have something to do with that latest update. That's the only thing that has changed.

I would love to see a functioning F-111 in DCS. Using the TFR to go screaming over the treetops at 600 knots... oh yeah! And the Bone... arguably the most beautiful aircraft ever built.
-
The other day I was flying the F-14 and it seemed like the trim wasn't working. Today I was flying the F-5E and F-86 and the trim was definitely not working. The trim is assigned to the joystick hat on all three aircraft and I double checked the setting. I could see the trim switch on the stick in the cockpit move according to my switch input, but I got no trim action at all in any of those three aircraft. What am I missing? It use to work, now it doesnt.

Stupid question time. I was flying the Tomcat the other day and I realized that I had never looked in the back seat. Then I realized I had never looked in the back seat because I don't know how to get back there. So... how do I become the RIO and jump into the back seat?

I'm not sure where but I heard that DCS had an F-4 Phantom in the works. Is there any truth to that rumor?

Some cold war birds like an F-111 Aardvark and B-1B Lancer. A couple more WWII era planes like a P-38 Lightning, P-40 Warhawk and a couple Navy/Marine planes like an F6-F Hellcat and an F8-F2 Bearcat. Also, a WWII carrier for them to fly off of. A couple of late '50's/early 60's jets like an F9-F5 Cougar or an A-4 Skyhawk. Any of the Century Series fighters would be awesome. I know it's not really military but for terrain I would love to see a Reno mod with Stead Field and a way to use some of the old WWII planes in an unlimited air race thing. Even the L-39s could compete in that.

I read an article years ago from a Hornet pilot and he confirmed that the older C model was definitely more nimble than the larger E/F models.

So I got a couple Mavericks on my Hornet and was gonna go sink a boat. I couldn't get it to uncage, so it wouldn't launch. What am I missing? It says I was in range and I had a target locked. Will the AGM-65 not work for ships and boats? I think all the vessels I could input on the mission editor were "good guys", i.e. American. Maybe it won't launch against it's own navy...?

I installed Marianas Islands and it says it's an installed module, but it doesn't work. When I select it for my location, I get no map and the mission won't generate. Am I missing something?

So, I've always heard about how hard the Tomcat is to land, especially on a carrier. Even back in the day when I was on carriers with Tomcats. Well, I finally decided to try it today. Now, it was during the day with clear skies and completely calm seas. But I did have the flight model on simulation and I nailed the three wire the first time, without using the ILS. I gotta say I was pretty impressed with myself LOL

Well, I'll try that cuz I got nothin else to try. But my situation is different. I can't even get to the menu of the game to select anything. It gets to the VR hangar and starts to load the static airplane there (a Tomcat?) and then it immediately CtD. That's all it ever does. I never get into the main lobby to select Instant Action or anything else.

Honestly I have not solved it, family issues have kept me away from DCS (My grandson recently discovered that Unreal Touremant 3 and Quake Champions on my PC are way more fun that Fortnite on his Xbox so now that's all he wants to do). I was gonna try to play with it today while he's doing schoolwork. In answer to your previous question, no, I'm not using Steam VR. Should I be? Like I said, I'm not even using the Steam version of DCS. It's the DVS World Open Beta. That's where all my purchased modules are cuz I got DCS and started my aircraft collection before I even knew about Steam.

Here it is... Also included one that I found called DCS.log.old dcs.log dcs.log.old

So I did some upgrades to my system and I should be able to at least attempt to run DCS in VR. I can run P3D V5 in VR no problem. Thing is, I can't even get into the game. It loads and then as soon as it shows the virtual jet in the hangar, CTD every time. I have much of the details and graphics turned down for now until I figure out how much my system will handle. But I can't even come close to getting into a flight. For the record, DCS runs fine in non-VR mode, but... it is DCS World Open Beta. It is not DCS Steam Edition. What am I missing? I have the latest update and the latest nVidia drivers, and the OQ2 is also updated. For the record, my system is an i7 4790K running at 4.5ghz, RTX 3060TI, 32gb DDR3 2400, Oculus Quest 2, DCS is installed on a 1tb SSD and the OS is on a 160gb SSD.

Upgrading from a GTX 1060. Since the majority of quality GPU's are either not available for a normal price, or way overpriced by those wanting to sell, I thought about an RTX 2060 Super. It is more available and actually rated higher than a standard 2070. So... will an RTX 2060 Super run DCS in VR, assuming the system already has an adequate CPU and RAM?

How long will DCS Supercarrier be on Pre-buy?
-
For a while there, we were getting regular updates about the progress of the P-47 Thunderbolt project. A project I was very exited about and couldn't wait to pre-buy. Now for the last several weeks or more, I hear nothing about the Jug. We've apparently moved on and are all about the Corsair now. So, the obvious question is, what happened to the Jug?
-
This thing reminds me allot of the old F-20 Tigershark built by Northrop back in the 80's (only built 3 1/2 of them). Is it available for purchase? Pre-buy?
-
So I'm trying to schedule and plan my PC purchases and so I'm wondering if you have just a ball park idea of when the Tomcat will be released. By years end? Q1 of 19? Late Spring? Early Summer?
-
$70 prebuy??? I hope it's worth it!
-
So, because of the large number of posts I see concerning updates and in particular, radar updates, I'm gonna assume that the ground portion of the radar still doesn't work. Not because I'm not doing it right, but because it's not done yet...
-
I like to keep track of my DCS module serial numbers. Why doesn't my F-18 serial number show up in the module manager like all the others do?
-
I pre-ordered my Hornet months ago. My profile says I have bought and paid for it. But I don't see it available for download in my module manager. What am I doing wrong?
-
$60 for prebuy and $80 for early access??? Are you kidding me??? How much will the standard price be, $100? This is getting ridiculous!
-
Okay, I must have missed something. How are some of you guys showing pics and asking questions about the Hornet? I don't see it for sale yet; not even pre-buy. How are y'all doin that? Is this thing available somehow? If not, when?
