Me too. I wouldn't be coming on to these forums so frequently if there weren't a dialogue between the devs and the fans. I'd just be going straight to the ED product page. And whether poeple realize it or not, they're on these forums for the very same reason.

(on my 5th beer) Bingo. Those of us who can see this situation for what it is realize there's no grounds for, nor use for hostile sentiment towards belsimtek over delays. They're doing their best. What gets my goat is that people are acting like this is CoD, or BF3 or something. This product isn't even released yet, and i've already had it's developers acknowledge and accept my (a nobody's) suggestions, and with their thanks no less. The hardcore fightsim genre differs from other genres in that a community exists - there's a relationship between the devs and the players. Anyone who values the level of gameplay, the constant support, constant improvements with patches, should also value that relationship because that relationship at the core of why this genre is so good. Making baselss accusations, attacking developers, and general hostility towards devs (especially when the issues causing said hostility aren't the devs fault) is undeniably harmful to that relationship, and by extension the genre. Look, these guys are doing their best. If you doubt that, then articulate your accusation. What is it you think these guys are doing wrong? If you're truly right in your criticism, then the devs should have use for it, no? Or are you just voicing your frustration in a way that's intended to hurt those you think are responsible for your frustration? And sorry RedRain, I don't mean to single you out, you're not the only one. But I just feel the need to stand up for these devs at this point. I can only imagine what it must be like to be in their shoes right now, not being able to release their product, not being able to generate income, and at the same time getting $#!# all over for it by the community.

I'd actually like to redirect that question to you. What exactly are you trying to accuse Belsimtek of?
-
The problem is, you're acting like this is a customer/vendor relationship, and that you're being ripped off or something. You are not their customer. You have nothing invested, no stake, and nothing to lose here. A 3rd party developer "getting your hopes up" is not ground for indigence. They're just a bunch of guys trying to release a module, and they're encountering difficulties. They don't owe you anything, and as such you have no grounds to be a jerk towards them over these delays. Especially not when they're duly communicating with you when they see more delays. As well, why are you giving them a hard time over the delays? They have a much larger stake in this than any prospective buyer. Releasing this product is how these guy plan to put food on their families' tables. Do you not think that if they could have released by now that they would have? What exactly are you criticizing? Are you suggesting they're withholding release for nefarious reasons? Or are you saying they're wrong not to release a product that's not yet ready for release? Or are you calling them incompetent for not having it [the most complex PC based helicopter sim to date] ready yet? Don't get me wrong. I'm dying to play this module, and i feel the frustrastion too with each day that goes by, but at the same time, I recognize that my only investment in this is my own excitement to play, and as such, i have no authority to give someone grief over something i haven't yet paid for, especially when I know damn well they're doing thier best, and even if they weren't, i'd still be in no position to criticize them, because who the #@$& am I? I'm just some guy who wants to buy their product if/when they release it.

Well you understand that you're being totally offside towards the Belsimtek guys, right?
-
The inference i took from his post is that he's taken his money elsewhere (as if to make the Belsimtek guys feel regretful that they haven't released it yet). Pure bullying. This attitude belongs on a CoD forum, not here.
-
It isn't. He's lying. You need either the DVDs or a dongle to play XP10.

Exactly how do you feel you have been wronged by Belsimtek? [Edit] ...and I don't think whining on the part of impatient prosepctive customers constitutes constructive feedback. That's just whining becuase you want it now as opposed to when it's ready. Exactly what do you expect a developer to do with that type of feedback?
-
I'm not trying to start an argument, but I'd like to know by what logic commenters feel they are entitled to be indignant towards a developer over a product they have not yet bought. These devs don't owe you anything. All they've done is announce that they're going to offer a Huey module. That entitles you to nothing. You're not being "screwed" in any way, yet that's how many people seem to be choosing to interpret these delays. There's a vocal minority acting like spoiled children in these discussions. I'd hate for the devs to think they represent the rest of us who are just excited. If it's not ready for release, it's not ready for release.

I think ED has other priorities at the moment, and rightly so. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=104617

Can anyone cite where TimeKilla may have acquired this info?

Out of intrest, which country operated this type of Huey
Ham Sandwich replied to Cowboy10uk's topic in DCS: UH-1H
According to wikipedia, Canada's CH-118s were UH-1Hs. They were in service until 1995, with the last examples serving in the SAR role. They were replaced in the tactical role by twin hueys, which were replaced by Griffins (B-412s). http://www.canadianwings.com/Aircraft/aircraftDetail.php?IROQUOIS-168 -
As it stands now, you can create triggers to spawn and deactivate groups when a helo arrives at a trigger zone. And there's also a trigger to set cargo weights. So technically, the ability is already there to simulate troop transport, although the visuals such as troops visibly sitting in the back of the chopper, and mount/dismount animations aren't present. Maybe they will be in future, but i don't know.

I think the first thing you're going to notice is the appearance of the Huey module icon with the "$" at the top of the screen.
-
Shoot one my way and i'd be glad to help you test it :D

I've been tracking these forms closely for the last while as well, and from what i can surmise, it certainly looks like the delay is in 1.2.4, not the huey. Anyone who can be bothered to track all the discussions back should probably come to that conclusion as well. This would also explain why we haven't heard from the belsimtek guys about the Huey since Tuesday. When they were finding huey bugs, they were letting us know. If the delay is because of 1.2.4, it's not Belsimtek's perogative to address that. Hence the 43 hours and 3 mins of silence on the matter.

Indeed. So.....is it out yet? :megalol:
-
Damn. You got my hopes up with that one ;)
-
That's two news sites posting that it's been released. What's the deal? Did ED send out an email or something?
-
It's been Wednesday in moscow for half an hour now ;)

Except they mentioned it in the last development update. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=103090
