  1. I do wish they had either made more of both England and France. I was hoping to see London and Paris. But it's still a great map. I noticed that Jersey and Guernsey look like they might have had a runway there, but it wasn't added. If you look at the two islands in Sat view. You can see a slight outline for airfield area on the islands.
  2. +1 Now I'm using the Harrier instead of the SU-25, I'm kinda needing those to work. I can only carry four Maverick's. But a cluster bomb give me other options. They don't even seem to damage AAA ground units. all the best
  3. Hi, I started a thread on the RAZBAM, AV-8B section regarding the mk20 Rockeye cluster bombs, and how they really aren't doing enough damage. Having got some information back from the community, I've learnt this is more a DCS issue, than a Harrier issue. So I thought I'd make a little noise over this side, and hope to learn more. Since the Harrier and the Hornet, which will hopefully release soon use the Rockeye, and since we have a great selection of ground targets to blow up then ever before. It's feel like the Rockeyes need some tweaking. I've got direct hits on Flak AAA, but there's been no Kaboom. Anyone else feel the Rockeyes don't do enough damage? All the best.
  4. Thanks for the information mate. On that note, maybe we should kick up a little fuss on the DCS part of the forum. Give them a gentle reminder. No point filling RAZBAM's secton with this topic. :D
  5. Thanks dude :) Clears up my question nicely. And I agree, got the Hornet coming soon, it uses those Rockeye's too, so hopefully yeah they will adjust them, as they don't cause the destruction I expected them too cause. I've had direct hit's but no Kaboom. "Where's the Kaboom?!' Plus with the ww2 ground assets. it seems like a match made in heaven, or fantasy hehe.
  6. Thanks for the info dudes. And thank you Mirmidon, for the info. I've used the RBK's on the Russian aircraft and they seemed to do much more damage than I've been getting from the Rockeye's. Wasn't sure if it was a Harrier issue or a DCS issue. Are the Mk20 we use on the Harrier custom built for it? An RBK-250 seems to be a general bomb for most Russian aircraft, compared to the Tank missile for the Gazelle which seem to be made for that Heli. I'm just wandering if the Mk20 on the Harrier are custom and need tweaking? Well it is still in Alpha, and things need to be ironed out and implemented. At least it's on the cards. Off topic myself, how armored are the ww2 tanks, like the panzer 2, compared too M1. I'm guessing the ww2 tanks have thick steel Armour, where as the modern tanks have composite amour. Would a modern cluster bomb actually work against those types of targets? Or am I going into a tank fight with some party poppers?
  7. Hi, how effective are the mk20 cluster bombs? I've been practicing with the mk20 rockeye's on some ww2 tanks. Panzer 2's and that range. I'm finding they don't seem to be doing much damage. As far as I can tell I've set them up correctly. Set the fuze to PR or OP, used both CCIP and Auto. They do appear to be getting released. The little bomblets pop out after release. But the tanks don't seem to be getting as messed up as I thought they would. Anyone care to educate a AV8B cluster bomb noob? :)
  8. Well at least it sounds like it will eventually arrive. At least we can still do bombing strafes by pressing the button again and again. And we can do pairs, so at least we got the general overall basic functionality.
  9. Cheers dude, I'm guessing that means it will get added when it's done.
  10. Hi, I've been trying to get to grips with the weapon release system on the Harrier. I can't seem to get bomb to drop in different salvo's / intervals. I've been able to get singles and pairs to work. But if I'm carrying let's say. 3 x 82's or 3 x mk20's on the weapon bays. I can't seem to get them to drop in any order. I'm trying to set them up to release 1 at a time every half a second. Or have pairs release every half a second. So far they all go at once, every time I've tried. Anyone got any links or hints. I'm starting to wander if the release intervals and quantity amounts aren't implemented yet. BR
  11. Hi sorry if this is in the wrong place, but couldn't see a bug report section. I had a flight just now. Started at Batumi had some ground vehicles set up in the town of Zugdidi. anyway on the way there i tried setting up my bombs, and then i noticed the line that contours around the different weapons was missing, and i couldn't fire them. I then noticed the land texture was missing on my left. Round where Kolkheti park would be. managed to take a screen shot. It looks like I'm looking at the ocean, but you can see the buildings were loaded but not the land.
  12. Thanks for the info on the ACP and the fuses. Great work dudes.
  13. I want to use the Su-25t, Su-33 and other units from different countries in the UK country group. I'm modifying the db_countries.ini file, copying a line from Russia or USA and Pasting it in the UK group, but it doesn't seem to work in 2.5 Is there a different way of doing it with 2.5?
  14. Glad to know I'm not the only one who's really excited to get the tanks and bombs. Well the new sounds for the cannons will satisfy for the while :) Thanks for the replies.
  15. Anyone have any idea when the bombs and external tanks will be available, or if there's been any word regarding there development.
  16. I would love to see a Seafire variant and a UK carrier from the WW2 period.
  17. Thanks fargo007 I've never used the script system before. So going to need to learn about that, but thanks for the script.
  18. I've been trying to get a squad of 10 Georgian Troop to embark and board onto a Mi-8MTV2. I have also tried a Huey and the Chinook. The troops keep marching off to the way point near the destination. I am trying to get them to pick up troops. Fly to destination and then drop the troops off. I've been using the embark and disembark option for the troops and heli's. But I noticed there is a new option "cargo transport". Something like that. Anyone know what that does? And anyone got this working and can point me in the right direction? Best regards KD
  19. It could be the weather change. I usually only set the weather to super calm for my test flights. Have little experience with more dynamic weather set ups in DCS. Or maybe the new game engine. Maybe I'm seeing if differently. Unfortunately I don't have force feedback so I can't tell if the feeling is different. I think I prefer the handling in 2.0, not sure yet. But at least others has noticed a slight difference. Well just means I need to practice. Thanks yarl
  20. Has anyone else noticed the flight dynamics of the Spit are different in regular DCS 1.5 compared to 2.0. Specifically Normandy. I just tried the Epsom campaign, and I swear the Spit is more stable in the Normandy map compared to the 1.5 Caucus DCS. Taxiing is more stable. It doesn't flap about and slowly loose direction. Even the speed seems to be more pronounced. By that I mean. I entered a dive and the ground came up much quicker. So much so i crashed into the ground. :joystick: Has anyone else noticed this. I ask in case it's my settings. Or maybe I'm not used to the new game engine. Thanks
  21. Cheers for the tips guys. It does seem I was having the RPM and throttle too high. Plus the fuel seems to be lasting longer. Thanks
  22. If I'm cruising I'll set the rpm to around 27, throttle set around 75%. As for the boost I thought it was automatic? But it seems to be around 8 to 12 most of the time. I just finished a flight. I was flying slight down, maybe 5 deg pitch down. medium settings on throttle, rpm set as usual 27. I'm guessing speed was around 250 300 mph. It was flying fine, and then suddenly the engine locked, seemingly for no reason. I thought it might be a bird strike. But checked and that option is off. So! :joystick:
  23. Hi all, on my last few flights in the spit. The engine has I guess overheated. It starts with white smoke, then after a bit black or it jams and I'm suddenly looking for a spot to try and land. So far it's happened once in DCS 1.5, and twice in 2.0, in the Normandy map. Do I need to watch the engines temperature? It has happened while chasing a 109 to the sky. So is the spit not good at climbs only turns? Are there differences in the handling flight dynamics in 1.5 and 2.0? Because it feels different when I'm flying in Normandy. Cheers
  24. Cheers Sokol1_br for the idea. I tried your suggestion, but the problem I'm getting is that I can't fix the camera in the position I want to edit. Snap Views. I reset the views, by renaming the saved DCS file to OldDCS, which made the game create a new one. Had to do some copying. It works sometimes, but very unstable. Being more of a hindrance than a help. But cheers for the help guys.
  25. HI all, I'm having trouble with the snap zoom function for the spit. When we press Num 0, the view snaps to the instrument panel in most of the planes in DCS. When we press Num 0 + 5 or 8, the view snaps to a close up of the HUD. Great for precise shots. My problem is it's not working correctly. The view is slightly off to the right and does not zoom at all. I set up the key press on my hotas. X 52 pro. I latched the key press so instead of press and hold, It toggles the view with a single press. It worked great for a few missions but then is stopped working. I've been going through the control options but as yet I haven't found anything. I've tried other planes and it is working for them, It's just not working on the spit. Anyone got any ideas? Best regards AW
