  1. FYI for the future explorers If you modify the keybedding in the settings and save the profile you get a diff.lua The diff key contains the id In my example here I was truing to get the free camera which was in the export above as iCommandViewFreeJump 158 So this example marries up to the exported file above where Export.LoSetCommand(158); -- iCommandViewFreeJump 158 ["keyDiffs"] = { ["d158pnilunilcdnilvdnilvpnilvunil"] = { ["added"] = { [1] = { ["key"] = "Z", ["reformers"] = { [1] = "LAlt", [2] = "LCtrl", [3] = "LShift", }, }, }, ["name"] = "F11 Jump to free camera", }, }, } return diff There is also a lot of stuff inside the game installation directories if you CTRL+F for the text from the Options Menu -- Config\Input\UiLayer\keyboard\default.lua {combos = {{key = 'Z', reformers = {'LCtrl' }}}, down = iCommandAccelerate , name = _('Time accelerate' ), category = general}, {combos = {{key = 'Z', reformers = {'LAlt' }}}, down = iCommandDecelerate , name = _('Time decelerate' ), category = general}, {combos = {{key = 'Z', reformers = {'LShift' }}}, down = iCommandNoAcceleration , name = _('Time normal' ), category = general},
  2. Hello, does anyone have any examples of creating units from the hooks env I have tried the DCS.add_dyn_group and also add_dynamic_group within the mission using net.dostring_in but must not be getting the parameters correct as its not working Thanks in advance
  3. Meh don't worry ill live, wont be spending another £150 in the DCS store though just to complete my collection...
  4. Went to look if I could use my Bonus for the FW-190, even if I couldn't have done probs would have paid. Points are gone. Now I'm pissed. Well done ED you introduced something, made me feel appreciated for £100s i spent already the whole time you didn't release anything then piss me off as soon as something is available. Before the Bonus points I was of the opinion these craft take ages yada yada they are well worth the cash yada yada Ill get them all to support the development etc etc. now, I feel bummed and like I was shafted so... I'm out. Good Job Marketing dept
  5. Selling Flight Sim Bundle for now. Going to wait it out a little while  X-65F Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals Pedals mfd-cougar-pack All for £250 postage excluded. If Sold Separately. £50 For the rudder pedals £200 for the X-65F £25 for the MFD Cougar Pack Email me at Jonathan.Turnock@gmail.com if you are interested.
  6. Seconded and was my first though on reading the thread. Simple avionics etc. Would be a great addition IMHO. Flight instructor could easily play ATC and give a complete sim exp for a fraction of the cost of real lessons.
  7. sitting in a parking spot mirrors take me from ~110FPS to ~70 mark.
  8. The two things I want the most in DCS world I thought Id bring them up considering the UI seems to have had a little love in the latest patch. 1) A Box to drag over the Units in ME to select more than one, This is a very small feature AFAIK and would make a HUGE difference to just grab and drag a whole Scenario. 2) I think ive said this before, while a large undertaking. Everyone bangs on about how DCS world is so that Small companies dont have to re-invent the wheel just to re-create one aircraft. Please stop making me re-invent the wheel (Bases, AWACS groups, Refuel Groups) every time I create a new scenario.:helpsmilie: Now I know there are workarounds like Shift copying and C+P in between missions but its so cumbersome. Thanks In advance, and thanks for all the hardwo from dev and community.
  9. Thanks Mustang, Appreciate the response, When you say this particular crash what exactly are the circumstances, Because its only when I generate a mission and not in a test scenario with just an apache and a enemy vehicle? Would be interested in hearing if there is a particular "trigger" so that I can avoid it for now. Understand if its just the presence of the issue that is logged and the individual cause is to be determined and rectified in subsequent patches.
  10. Ok didnt even edit anything this time. Generate Random Mission Edit Mission Pilot Control Vehicles Play Assign a target to an Apache CTD!
  11. Ok, so something is definately broken with my install or the game, Would appreciate if anyone else with CA could try this. Basically just randomly generated a mission. Changed all the air assets to be takeoff from Ramp. Uncontrolled. Deleted everyones waypoints. Set it so that pilots control vehicles. Start Game. Select the apache on the map, hit add target and add any group of OPFOR, the game then CTD for me at least. This is a new randomly generated test mission. It didn't CTD with a game master an apache and one group so im not sure exactly whats going wrong in between this and then a random mission generated and doing the same thing. Ive uploaded my mission file anyways along with the new crash logs. Ossetia Conflict.miz DCS-20130503-012132.zip

    CTD

Very Disappointed to get bummed out of my game by a CTD while engaging a group, havent had this in a while. Anyway reloaded a mission and it CTD again within 5-10 mins of starting while actioning an attack on the same group. DCS-20130503-002640.zip
  13. Port forwarding I think you will be nicely surprised at how easy it is nowadays, given the right conditions. By this I mean you have the home setup 99.9% of the general public do. So firstly what make and model is you're router? If youre not sure, take a picture of the big label or write whatever you see.
  14. Big Newys has a good question there. Secondly Is it just on MP you get these random freeze ups? It may be that the connection to the Host PC is freezing, BTW who is hosting? Yourself or someone else. Have you tried asking them to host/hosting yourself to see if the issue persists. Of course if its in SP to then dont bother with the above steps.
  15. Huge from a GTX 580 not really. I'm still getting 27 FPS when I look back at my airfield I filled with F/A-18C A-10C and Apaches on a user generated mission. Definately not to justify getting rid of the GTX 580 and then dumping 1k on a Titan. My Circumstances were slighty different to this, I had a 3gb GTX 580 Prior to the Titan. Id say the Board and CPU I got gave me the most difference as when Im in complex missions like the campaign I dont experience the slow down I did. And I see you have them SLI-d definitely stick with what you have got. You would be disappointed if you purchased one. Having sold what you have I'm assuming would be the route. Let me know if you want to send me a scenario or ask me to do a mission and ill record the FPS with whatever settings you have, that way you will be able to see the difference. 16. http://www.geforce.com/hardware/technology/3dvision-surround/system-requirements Gives a good insight into how multi monitor configurations can be setup. Ignore the 3d vision surround bit and focus on 2d Surround. Notice the GTX 570 only has the option for 2,3 or 4 way SLI. I.e. more than one Graphics card. Whereas if you change the Card model up to 670 or any 600 series it allows you to choose Single GPU. That means only those cards will support 3 or >3 monitors. There needs to be 2 GTX 570s for 3 monitors. Having said that lets not all jump on you're son. Its around £200 for another GTX 570. So you are still well well within you're original budget. And just to note, BF3 is most definitely not DCS world hehe. Far more complex, and less optimized in certain areas (that are being worked on of course)
  17. I would say then the best thing for you is to go for the ultra Widescreen monitor. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-066-DE&groupid=17&catid=1120 1)AFAIK there are no 1440 Vertical Resolution UltraWidescreen monitors. 2)There will be "issues" with putting 3 screens on you're PC Especially 3 1440P monitors. (SLI another GTX 570 of course and that changes) 3) The simplest and easiest to configure would be an Ultra Widescreen Monitor i.e. plug and play. The 4k Suggestion wasn't a Joke, I can genuinely see them coming in at around 1,500 this year sometime maybe start of next year. HDTVs went from ~5k TVs to mainstream production in about 12 months. As in <£1000 You could get them for £1.5-£2k quite easily during that move to mainstream phase. I'm patiently holding out for an Oculus Rift type VR with a good screen so there is no reason that a little patience cant be had. Were on the last few development cycles of the 1080p era for PC and high End TV monitors now in my best guesstimates. Heck Smartphones are entering the realm of 1080p. IMHO investing anything over £500 in anything at this stage is in 12 months time going to be either gathering dust or for the less well off a big financial sucker punch. Just my thoughts of course I mean it may depend heavily on the next gen consoles, if they are capable of outputting at >1080p we may see a shift, if they are as shit as the current gen consoles that max out at like 720p 99% of the time then it would quite possibly just be 4 years of ripping people off with headlines of IPS and LED or various other technologies only being semi utilized with 1080-1440p resolutions.
  18. Just unlocked all my refresh rate stuff I got setup, Went from 108FPS in a decent Random Generated conflict with a decent amount of clouds to 70 when enabling Mirrors. So that's 38FPS to render some useless displays. Basically things I go through in order of priority when I get a new flight sim. Find PIP/Mirrors, Off Straight away. Lock my Vsynch using Nvidia Inspector to Half Refresh Rate Lock my Refresh Rate to 120Hz Crank up the Anisotropic Filtering and Anti aliasing Set my Maximum Pre-rendered Frames to 1 This then gives me at steady 60FPS in DCS and it can bounce between 120 and 60 without me noticing a single change in visual smoothness. In something like FSX I do the same but lock the frames to 27FPS because its the only way to stop the bouncing AI when messing around in formations. The best piece of advice I can give is find out what you're system can do with the most demanding scenario you will get on a weekly basis i.e. hit a few Random Generated Scenarios or do the campaign missions if that's what you will be playing. Then Lock you're frames to the lowest value you get. That way you don't notice the difference when 60FPS goes to 30 because there is some MLRS or something. Or you enter a International Airport (FSX/Xplane). This way you don't get that moment when you jump into a game after practicing Free Flight and think what the hell is this jittery mess and its actually just a very good 30FPS but you are used to 60-70. Its nonsense when people say you dont realise anything over 30-40FPS you do, there is a massive difference between playing at 60 and a 120 for example (IMHO anyway) but when locked to 60. You will adjust to it. Only when you hit <20FPS is that it becomes unusable.
  19. Mirrors being enabled in something like the A-10C is a big no no. Its good to have it there and all but considering it throws you're rendering to Double the ammount of Items. As in from 3 (Screen, MFD TGP+/or mav) you then have to render 3 More images. Its not as bad in something like F-15C but Still IMHO its needless. I was running a GTX 580 3gb and the mirrors would cost me at the very least about 10-15 FPS. Im now running a GTX Titan and I still leave them off I can still tell that its not as smooth even with them on. Best thing I can say when it comes to selling hardware is always reduce everything to very low and disable bells and whistles like mirrors before selling up. 9/10 in a beta type game as DCS world still kind of is is that one or more of these nice features is not optimized. Like smoke is a FPS killer at the moment when firing P-51 Rockets.
  20. I like CA, just for the fact that when I fly I can set uncontrolled aircraft stationary in the base and then if i need them I can call them in with a click on the mouse. So when youre A-10 gets smashed you can call in the Apaches for fun. And then send a SAR flight to find you. All I need now is a get in option.
  21. Given, However at least there is a general direction the Russians can come from. And the NATO forces do indeed have operational capabilities in the area, and there have been multiple conflicts. However Nevada. Now don't get me wrong I spend almost all my time in FSX either in Nevada/California (Edwards) or on Anglesey so its pretty much on the money for me. I just don't really get the reasoning. If they were a US company based in the area then understandable, unless its come from military contract work. Where is the A-10 Training Squadron that uses the Mil version of A-10 located anyways? Unless the Americans are planning training operations of last stand at area 51. Aha conspiracy theory, go.. Anyroad, Im glad its there there will be lots to do no doubt. I do spend most my time F**nying about than actually fighting campaigns so suits me quite well. Looking forward in anycase. Agreed, The walking dead was severely lacking in CBUs and A-10s. However im sure there was a Huey in there somewhere...
  22. Full screen enabled you should have been fine on that setup I would have thought, I had a very similar setup with GTX580 instead. Did you try dropping things like the clutter, to see if the frames increased dramatically with any one setting off. Sometimes its best to troubleshoot it if you are gradually dropping and getting little gains then its time for an upgrade, if you get any one big jump. Its time to report it as a gameplay/feature limitation. And also do you use mirrors by any chance. Nothing will render mirrors well not even a GTX Titan, trust me. Personally I had pretty much everything maxed except mirrors and Clutter was at 0, its hideous IMHO. I ran fine even with helios and exported MFDs ext which takes a really large toll. I made the same mistake as you with my 580 I went for the Phantom3 after the buz died it just went out of stock completely with only mainstream manufactuers making them with 1.5gb ram. this time I got a mainsteam GPU to ensure its availability so its overkill now and then when it comes down in price to mainstream market I can pick up another.
  23. Not thought about holding out until the Haswell CPU chip comes out right about the next month or two. I recall when I bought an Ivybridge-E Chip on release that was last year on the 2X of April Id say give it another month. enter the PC hardware market fresh off a new CPU release and a Patch or Two From Ed. Happy Times.
  24. Sorin, I'm not sure why but ive never really thought of going up to 1440 but its a 33% increase in the vertical FOV, I think an ultra widescreen monitor on the 1440 vertical would be a good compromise, maybe if we increase the current Ultra Widescreens Horizontal res from 2560 to ~3.5k that would be a pretty sweet prospect
  25. Can you not just get a 30" 4k Monitor with all you're moneys? I'm assuming your'e PC cost more than 3k at least as I just built mine which as 2.8k and that is not what I would call capable of anything. So the 4k screens should befitting of you're budget right. http://store.sony.com/c/XBR-4K-TV-Ultra-HD-Resolution/en/c/S_4KTV
