Low and Slow in the F-15c/Mig-29/Su-33/Su27
cool_t replied to cool_t's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Sounds good GG, so Im guessing that we will see more realisim in the future? This sounds great and I cant wait for the new sim to come out. Also flying low and slow is very limiting to say the least. It is very easy to "Spoof" incomming radar missiles below 10m. Just to think of all of those times where I got hit because of the 120s missed due to 10m deal and then the ET comes right in your face. I was flying 169th the other day and an SU-33 ws chasing me he was 7nm behind me. He launched a EM and got from 7nm behind me. I was like "OMG you have got to be kidding me!" you would be luck to have a 120 hit some one in the tail from 3nm. Oh well. -
errr, uhhhh, im like super low tec compared to that dude. Tripple WOW! :music_whistling:

Hi, As of late I have been a bit bored with some of my flight patterns. So as of late I have been flying the F-15c "Low and Slow" to greet bandits and opposing air fields. Apart from terrain masking, high fuel-consumption, top speed of Mach 1.12-ish, I have found some new ways of reaking havok from the "ground" so to speak. So can anyone shed some light on the subjects of some "Low flying Tactics" 1. There is less room to move in. 2. Fuel consumption. 3. Missile range. 4. Masking. 5. Radar settings. 6. Aproach vectors to bandits. 7. EOS effectiveness at low altitudes. 8. Fur-ball knife fighting. 9. A-50/AWAX- signatures on the RWR (Weather it sees you or not) Im sure I can think of more but I feel that you guys will have plenty more solutions. :helpsmilie:

Lol, Actualy here is the big version. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=e08f6ee928

Just a few questions. 1. When a target is distroyed will there be "Smoke" rising into the air for an extended period of time? EG. Tanks, ground targets burn with acric black smoke. 2. Will trees block SAMs, Radar, EOS, bullets, and will we be able to fly through them? 3. Weather patterns? Will there be weather patterns that can be implemented? EG. thunder storms, snow storms, hail, high winds, jet streams, microbursts, size and magnitude of weather related patterns.

R-77 on outer pylons on MiG-29 (for VVS504)
cool_t replied to Lemon Lime's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I feel that servers that alow Mods are cool, we can be limited by ED's programing. I also feel that some servers should alow R-77s, ETs, and R-73 on the F-15c. It realy would be interesting to see a month of a test server with F-15s carring R-77s, ETs. What do you guys think? -
F-15c (E) Since I cant get bombs or some sort of Air to Ground load out on the F-15c in LOMAC I think Ill just keep practicing. Ohhh man I forgot all of the Migs and Su's have air to ground capabilities, right hummmmmmm, strange. Well here is my version of the F-15c/E in the current LOMAC configuration. Please take a look at how effective it can be. Ice did I over do it this time ;) ? Maby a bit? Muuuhahahahahhahaha!!!! http://www.lockonstats.com/server1/pilot.php?pilot=cool_t Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Understandible, or misunderstood? No problems, if you do not want to discuss these manners intelectualy. Nice editing, so, let other people talk about the issue and how they feel about it, if your not going to answer questions. Realy how do you feel about what I asked you?

Ok, think in the third dimension, ill explane it again. When some on who is at an enemy air base where in the server Vulching is not allowed the pilot on the ground can take off from the tarmac-runway when they feel the threat is gone or they can get up behind the "Non-Vulching" bandit that is by your air field. So in a logical representation of the "No-Vulching" rule on specific servers, this alows plilots on the ground to take advantage of the "Non-Vulching" rule by exploting when or where on the air-base to take off from and Kill the bandit that is a threat to the base. It has happend to me befor where I accepted my fate by going to the bad guy air-base knowing that I would no get back home in one peice. So apart from me learning new tactics in the air, which I am always open to new ideas, tricks, tips, and rules. As stated please stick to the questions and or coments that we are discussing. Talk about why Vulching is not nice, or if there is "No-Vulching" on a server that also means that pilots cant take off from the runway when there is a bandit near because as the "Vulcher" has the advantage in a "Vulching server" in "No-Vulching" servers one can take off at the right time with 100% advantage taking advantage of the "No-Vulching" server rules and shoot the "Vulcher" down. Quantitative reasoning? Or just a double standard? Strange and well worth discussion. :pilotfly:

Your way off topic and stearing it towards a locked thread. Please stick to the issue at hand. Which is Vulching or No-Vulching, who, what, where, why, and how. Please express your views in a less personal matter, use word play or in-direct word usesage to describe a pilots skills. Just as on servers that do not alow Vulching and Im sure me and you follow the rules; please follow the fourm rules by not making it personal. So Frost1e, how do you feel about lets say Im at your air base and I took out the air defences. The server does not allow vulching and I am waiting for you to get up in the air. In the process you are just waiting for the proper "Mistake" moment to take off and kill me as I wait for you to take off. How do you feel about this, do you feel that handing you the advantage and you taking it is gradifying, or Holy Grail'ish? Its happend to me pleanty of times, so you might ask why? So I get the experience and learn new tactics, ect, ect, ect.
-
Sure I know how to be Vulched feels, and I say "GK" after the fact to the bandit that got me. I dont throw my self into a "Selfesteem" fit when I get hit a go on and on about Honour, Knight-hood, the Holy Grail, and act like I have just seen King Kong. Talking about tac-tics or bringing to light "Know" and "Un-Known" tac-tics might make other people think twice about there "Comunitive" stance here in LOMAC world. Some the most "Honourable" pilots that rant about exploits, Vulching, and other issues are some of LOMACS most decetfull thieves. Not only are we discussing server rules we also are discussing how fine of a line we all tend to think what is right and or wrong in our own opinions. Truly I do have a good selfesteem and being able to control it and what I go after "High Valued Targets" which is even better.

I think some posts are and have a logic base in discussion. I also feel that there is no love lost since a good number of "Servers" have rules about Vulching. So for the People who do not want to risk learning new tactics, or taking a chance, flying well within the SAM WEZ, or Killing A-50s/E-3s, or risk being killed on the ground by all means stay off the servers that alow Vulching and limit your self to the same old flight patterns. (Using ACMI as an AWAX is an EXPLOIT, so stay on the tarmac or exit the server when Im 45,000 feet above your runway):smilewink: By all means please use the servers that have no Vulching to your advantage and stay off the servers that alow it, because I 100% do not want to insult anyone with my own skill, determination, and respect for the servers "Rules" This comunity does not need arguments about "Non-exploits" in the game where pilots can take advantage of many "Un-fixable" exploits.
-
Well, If the opertunity alows SAM killing sure. I truly feel that you dont get the fact that when your "Vulching" an enemy air base its skill that got you there in the first place. Also I feel that you do not understand that If you are at the enemy base not "Vulching" you give the bandits time to get up in the air or give them the advantage of where or when to take off. There is absolutly no logic in waiting for 1,2,3,4 or 5, bandits to scramble of the tarmac-runway in three differnt directions in order to get up in the air. Also when your in a dog fight/BVR and you almost out of fuel and your out of weapons should we consider this a kind of "Vulching" as well. As stated befor the RAF server is a good server for no "Vulching" as far as other servers go if your on the ground and im at your air field your getting hit by the cannons. Vulching is a part of the game there is no honour in WAR.
-
:music_whistling: Well said, as of late I have been trying some new tactics instead of 45,000ft turn and burn. Servers that alow Vulching are more realistic anyway. Also getin my feet in the dirt will make me a more rounded pilot as far as "High, Med, Low" altitude combat. You realy learn alot about energy, fuel consumption, and ground masking/ambush tactics. Ya it stinks gettin killed but when I first hit the LOMAC seen "I SUCKED" bad!!! On that note here are some more thoughts on Vulching. Forinstance, 1. When Vulching is not allowed there is a range limitation on how far combatints will go into enemy airspace. Which limits your goals, skills, and over all expeience in the LOMAC realm. Forinstance, in the RAF server vulching is not allowed so why bother going to ambush an enemy airfield. Where also I enjoyed buzzing Bandit air fields where some people would just not take off from there base inorder to not get killed. Well I respect server rules so I figure ill take some bad guys out then be killed, run out of fuel, or take out SAMs with the gunz. 2. When vulching is not allowed its like you give the total advantage to bandits that are ont the runway waiting for you to get hit by a SAM, or another bandit or the worst is they will take off when you are in a RTB egression; oh which is full of honour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3. I feel that if some people do not want to get Vulched or do not feel that Vulching is "Nice" they can exit the server when bandits are close, or just not fly on servers that allow Vulching. I feel no difference which way some one does there busines but when your hit your hit deal with the skill of the bandit that got you and learn from the fight. Insults and crying obviously does not help anything or any one reguardless of acusational judgements. A "Good Kill" and "S!" will do fine.

Well perhaps Ill send out some Tac-Views of me and my Eagle Riping past SAMs to take out A-50s, and or SAM Radar sites while I land the bird back at home plate; tons of times at that. Penitrating Deep within the enemy zone is what the Eagle does best in the hands of a risky pilot. 10 times on the tarmack I let some one go, this time the server allowed Vulching. "NO MORE FREE-Bees" rules are rules. If some one does not like Vulching stay off servers that alow it. This is not The Civil War where we stand in line formation and volley missiles and say "Grand job Chap" this is the world of LOMAC, and its a virtual WAR. Taking advantage of the enemy is what a good pilot is trained to do. There is no second place in a dog fight. There are alot of good pilots out there and some can apreciate the hard work and determination of pilots that "Think outside the box" and show up on the front door step of an enemy airfield.

Very nice, You have got me on the ground plenty of times S! "GK"
-
Right on, the worst is when you just start you run in on an enemy air base to take-em all out.

I agree. Also to everyone in mind, if I spend 20+ minuets to get to the bandits air field also with all of the threats in mind, im vulching, end of story no more free bees. -
Hi again, This thread is specificaly designed to ask our comunity about "Vulching" and how we all feel about it. There are a few points I would like to point out and or shed light on the subject of Vulching. In my opinion. 1. Vulching is perfictly "Legal" in the LOMAC "War" enviroment. There should be "No Quarter" for bandits on the tarmac. 2. Getting to an enemy air base is very hard to do. There are multiple dangers, SAMs, bandits, and the fact that you might not return to base. 3. Reguardless of weather or not you agree or dissagree for Vulching in the LOMAC enviroment there are "Exploits" that far excede the Vulching issue and a pilots ability to get to an enemy air base.

Woops I forgot that one, also it can cary bombs.

I truly feel that the ET is the only thing going for the Su-27, and thats a botched missile.
