  1. Nice, any details on the website I can look at as well as pre-order price/function?
  2. Hey Andre! Are there are any planned new versions coming out in the near future? Looking to buy one but don't want to if there's a new version coming soon!
  3. Ah ok - we could really do with a tool to do this in game - Feature request????
  4. Need to get the database in to a kneeboard page ASAP.....when it's fixed that is.
  5. How did you draw that in F10?
  6. Ooops ignore - beaten to it!
  7. Yes mate of course but I need to figure this out too - I can get the coordinates easily enough - the problem is translating them in to useable data on the map or understanding what the NW coords and SE coords are. I'm assuming that the NW are the Northing to Westings and SE - South to East - possibly the lines of the box I'd need to draw on a map.
  8. minor update, I tried and failed to do a fit for purpose jettison stores button for the left side of the panel but I just could not get it right to my liking. I had a mooch around on line to locate one and the only one I can find was on Ebay for quite a pretty penny. Problem was the tight fisted bugger would do me a deal on it so I didn't get much off the price but hopefully it will be a good piece of kit to function. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222253969783?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
  9. If that's the case I'll be all over this when I get back in from work with a view to do a short tutorial/mission to test. :)
  10. This needs more explaining and preferably in a youtube tutorial as they say "monkey see monkey do!" This will add a great dynamic to the missions for search and destroy missions but without using the Tangos Fantasmagoria pods
  11. That did the trick - turn off easy comms
  12. Hi all, seem to be having difficulties trying to get the radios to work in that I select what think is the frequency or scpecial channel but the menu always is black/unset and I'm trying to figure out where I'm going wrong? I can't find any real info in the manual nor on youtube in a tutorial so if someone can help that would be great.
  13. What sort of clamps bud as I hadn't even thought of this or what for exactly? Edit ignore me! I get what you mean! Yes clamps are a MUST! I wished I'd bought more TBH
  14. Soooo I kinda went a little nuts before Xmas and bought a shed load of bits and electronics with the intention to upgrade the pit in phase 2 to allow for more functionality and buttons to press in VR. I'm undecided what to attack first, COMMs, Generic VR buttons, or the A10 CDU (minus the display for now)
  15. I've had the Rift since DK1 days and had the DK2 and CV1 for some time now. I've also experienced the VIVE too so think I can make an authoritative opinion on this. The resolution on both the CV1 and VIVE are almost like for like though the optics on the Rift I'd argue are better. In terms of comfort for long stints I'd choose the rift over the VIVE. However to return to your question as to whether or not to get one now or wait. If I'm honest with myself I would say to wait for the next generation as the resolutions just isn't quite there to really use it in DCS with any real accuracy and certainly not in combat as trying to locate a target on the deck is a challenge just in a normal screen but in VR it's almost impossible without some pretty major tweaks and even then, you're still fumbling in the dark. However what it IS really good for is immersion so if that's what you're looking for then fill your boots and get a CV1/VIVE as they really are on par. There is a 4K VR set out there but it has a major flaw in that it has limited DoF but what it lacks in that is resolution as you'd expect with 4K. Don't be fooled though, it also is not supported in DCS as of yet and there are forum members with the headset struggling to get it working so be warned. VIVE2.0 is due out this yeah I believe with minor improvements to resolution but IMHO the increase is still not going to be good enough. No word from Oculus for CV2 so we don't know the spec there but I have a feeling with the backing from Facebook it will be a pretty decent improvement though at a cost premium. My recommendation, beg, borrow a CV1 first as the novelty does wear off after a while.
  16. Yes I've just done my enforced cockpunch and lo and behold leave the QFE already set and what do you know?! Straight in and out bombs on target so yes FML! lol! School boy error though, should have checked the charts!
  17. !!! Ahhh mate if that's it I'll give myself a cockpunch for not checking! Rep will be winging it's way to you if proven correct!
  18. CCIP Bombing Mission Hi all, I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong for doing CCIP bombing in the training mission. I've read the manual and applied the checklist but still having issues getting high drag bombs on target. I'm at recommended AGL i.e. 150-200 or (higher)according to the mission tutorial, I've set the QFE, PAN and NAV modes all ready as well as interval in the correct sequence as well as dropping the HUD down to low position. Things start off ok I've got the target in sight and when I drop to low level the pipper and circle are all over target to start with but when I get nearer it just foxtrot oscars upwards over the HUD never to be seen again! I can NOT get the HUD symbology i.e. the small first impact pip and the circle to remain over the target no matter if I'm level, small climb or dive but if I do some pretty feckin stupid kangarooing with the aircraft I might get it back again but it's a no go. If by some miracle I do get the symbology over the target at medium distance from target, the target falls between pip and circle I depress the release and the bombs fall way way way short. I'm doing recommended speed of .8-.9 Mach so that should be ok. Can anyone assist and point my obvious technique flaw somewhere? Thanks
  19. OMG that extrusion set up is exquisite! I'm looking to do the same for my seat too so it's level and accurate not mention steady! I've a touch screen PI3 so may look to use DCS exports or BIOS if I'm man enough! Nice job bud very nice indeed!
  20. Love this pit already and really refined! Can I ask what screen you're using for the MFD so I can implement the same or similar for my own pit?
  21. Basically I used a cheap nasty McCallister 200W table saw for cutting panels to length/width rather than a jigsaw as I was utterly inaccurate with it for parallel lines etc. I then used the following tools for other tasks as per below: Erbaur Router - all templates and panels Ryobi corded multitool - cutouts/holes/sanding Black and Decker drills heavy duty for circular cutouts/general drilling Bosch mouse sander - obvious.. Back and Decker belt sander -great bit of kit for sanding and removing protruding screws Black n Decker Jigsaw for template curves and general cutouts An old crappy mitre saw for cutting various 4x2/wood struts to length And of course the usual impact drivers and a hacksaw (mutilating the chair) Tis about it and was the main bulk of expense for this project TBF. Considering getting a CNC 3040 router off Ebay so monitoring what others are doing here (including yourself) first before I do!
  22. Thanks Mr Burns! I'm no carpenter that's for sure but the thing that helped me the most was the Router, YouTube and a shiz load of Gorilla wood glue! Trust me, if I can do it then so can you!
  23. No problems Newy, true indeed that this is an ongoing evolution so looking forward to getting all the gadgets working!
  24. Cheers, for some reason I can't seem to post anymore pics.....must have hit my limit or something!
  25. Night vis pics
