Well, I don't agree. I guess the most of us are playing dcs because it is the most realistic combat flight simulator currently available for an affordable price. Of course it is not real and it tries to be realistic as possible and therefor some of us invest in equipment, make this feeling as "realistic" or let us call it "immersive" as possible. It would be great, if real fighter pilots could confirm or support FFB devices to make them feel more "realistic", so that gamers could at least imagine how I would feel like. I have a Warthog HOTAS and the MONZA sounds quite interesting to me. However, I was suprised to see some test videos with an F16, because the F16 is using a digital stick and you won't feel much FFB (I suppose). But it could be quite interesting for WWII planes or helicopters, feeling the wind drag, power of throttle, restrictions on the controls when the plane is damaged...

Played the map with an RTX 4090 and a Pimax Crystal Light (High Render Quality) - Highest DCS Settings. The performance on several multiplayer server was very good. It would say there, is a enough of space - but we need this, for the next updates and (detail) improvements.

Unfortunately, I have to agree - mixed feelings. The first hours I liked the green map. Berlin looks great with all the famous buildings that we all know. But some geographical coverage is not correct. I know, we can not expect a map and details like in the MS Flight Simulator, but if the geopraphical quality is to rough, it is just a green map. Well, it is early access and work is in progress, so I hope things are getting fixed and sure, they will improve over time. Some points I have noticed (so far): - There are to much trees. The forest areas are too large - Hills, mountains and bridges should be correct - Cities should be recognized (at least) by there size. Some big cities have only a few houses and are looking like small villages, e.g. Wuerzburg (there are also some very nice historical buildings...) - The street lightning on highways (Autobahnen) looks great, but in Germany, we don't have this lightning. It differs to other countries like the Netherlands or Belgium - Autobahnen don't have crossroads - Autobahnen should have some cars (well, it might be a performance thing or it is just war and nobody is using the streets...) - Many graveyards in East Germany have orthodox crucifix, but only a few People there where orthodox. That is not important for me, but it seems that it was important for the map design and that's why I mention it I am looking forward for the next updates.

Would be great to have an Tech & Terrain Channel for the German Cold War Map on this forum. Yes, it's early access and first launch, but I would like to get rid of my experiences, detected map faults, improvement suggestions btw thanks for the map.

I know it's a new map, early access, but heaving a forum channel for the german map would be great, to share some experiences, faults and improvements. Don't know where I could post this but the wish list channel...

To be honest, I didn't know the consequences of the latest windows update. Unfortunately, I had to reinstall my windows 11 yesterday. So I installed DCS today and also tried to install / activate my HP Reverb G2. It was not possible. I searched the internet for some hints and saw the notification that WMR was removed with Update 24H2. Sh... I don't know what I should do now. I like playing flight sims (MS FS 202x, DCS), but only in VR. But it is also not a simple update, there are already many updates for 24H2 installed - not sure, if want to uninstall all of them. Do we have some workarounds how we can use WMR with 24H2? Is it worth buying a valve (steam) headset... it's very old stuff. How about the pimax headsets, do they still work - I guess not? Bad day today.

Interesting - looks like the repair mode fixed the problem. I can start DCS without this error message. However, the multiplayer host list is empty - no servers available. I will check it again later...

When I try to start DCS (launcher or direct) I receive the message "Login failed - Website currently not available. You can continue offline" Well, I don't have internet problem. Every other online application is running without a problem. The credentials are checked and valid (login thru the website works). Is there a problem with the DCS servers? Or is it a known issue, since the last update? I never had this problem before, when everthing else works online. No AV-Software is running. I've just started the repair mode. I am curious if it can fix something.

It was just to save time. Rearming and refueling takes time and when I have to wait 2 minutes, until the repair process begins, I would like to use that waiting periode to get the bird rearmed and refueled.

See example: Khashuri has three FARPs, FARP#3 is busy (also signed), and FARP#1 and #2 are free - or shown as free. FARP#2 has been choosen and when I click OK, a dialog is poping up, saying "All Terminals are busy" - by the way, there's also a missing german translation, but already mentioned in a different channel... Afterwards, I tried the FARP#1 slot, that should be free, but the same problem. However, I could choose the FARP#3 slot, which is signed as busy. The mark of busy slots is not inverted, meaning when it says "busy" its "free" and vice versa. I had situations, where a "busy" slot was really busy. So, something other is going wrong. null

I'd like to repair my aircraft when it is damaged, but first I have to shut down all engines and then wait another 150 seconds until it is repaired and then again, restart the aircraft. Why must we wait 150 seconds? I takes enought time to shut off everything and restart. I am faster with selecting another slot instead of waiting for the repair. Would be great, if we could remove / extremly reduce this wait time.

A few hours ago, I had a problem with the air radar altitude. The radar altitude was automatically decremented an when a certain high was reached the bar on the left side was also falling. I tried switching to the ground radar and back to the air radar, but this didn't solve the problem. When I change the radar altitude with the up arrow on the mfd, it starts again with counting the altitude down. Unfortunately, I didn't make a video. But it happened. null

When I am crashed or landed and I press ctrl+e, the pilot leaves the helicopter. In VR there are so many clipping errors (looking thru the helicopter and whatever), it hurts my eye and can be easily fixed. Thanks!
