  7. Hey Blooze... and use another activation? When all the crashes are described as almost exactly the same, it leads me to believe it's an issue, not on my end. BTW, I am now getting consistent FPSs from 30-70FPS for 30-45 minutes+ of flight, and "CRASH". Before I use another activation (which if I run out, I will buy more since I have invested over $800 specifically for this sim) I will tough it out until it's back like it was when I never had a glitch pre-2014.
  8. Since the most recent update, I have yet to be able to create a stable running version of DCS. If you look in the bugs forums, in DCS World alone, there are over 30 threads regarding crashes dated 3-14 forward. All of them include the same suggestions... "New Video Card", "Update Direct X", "Update C+++", "You need more RAM!", "Your Video Card Is Too Old", "You have a bad power supply" and, well, you all know the list. Everyone of these threads end with NO solution. My simple minded reasoning tells me, that with a very broad variety of rigs ALL crashing, either CTD's or Freezes or BSODs, yet all the crashes sound incredibly similar, wouldn't that suggest that if you have reinstalled your OS, Updated ALL drivers, Updated Direct X, Updated Runtimes, bought new PSUs, GPUs, CPUs, etc... that the actual problem that everyone began reporting at approximately the same date, would most logically be related to the DCS World Software?? :detective: Any thoughts?

  13. TIR 5 is a total game changer! If you already have it, and have been using it, there are new drivers etc as of last year (found that out today, and haven't crashed the sim since updating!). As for the Pro Clip, I recently, somehow, broke mine. Nice thing about it is, a replacement is only $34. Enjoy your new in Sim freedom!!! Matz

I'm in Texas with a lightening fast connection, and I'm looking for some experienced Pilots to start flying with that can help me smooth out the learning curve on some of the more complex aspects of MP Combat Deployment. I'm close to 50 (yeah, I don't tell that to just everyone... lol) so I'm able to interact in a mature, respectful fashion. I would love a spot as a newbie trainee on a VFW, or just some guys to fly with that can show me the ropes. I fly well for the most part, and am up to speed on most aspects of the sim and weapons.   20. Here's my take. The A-10 is an ultra-effective CAS platform that was bought and paid for YEARS ago. They, and their pilots have survived thousands of CAS missions where the troops on the ground lives were saved, and the A-10 and it's pilot came home. Upgrades for the the current fleet of A-10s is POCKET CHANGE compared to $160,000,000 per F-35, a program that is currently $167 BILLION over-budget, and won't see deployment until 2016... 10 years after it's first flight. Cost effective??? "When taking into account the cost of flying and maintaining the F-35 over the course of its life, the program could surpass a trillion dollars, according to the Government Accountability Office." As of last week: "...the program office acknowledged to AFP that the F-35B, the short-takeoff variant for the Marine Corps, suffered cracks in its bulkheads during stress tests. As a result, the durability tests have been suspended and the plane may have to be modified." Yep... sounds just about ready to fly, huh? I've seen mention here that "The A-10 would be useless in a war with China or Russia or...". Give me a break... where are the most likely places we'll be engaged in ground combat in the not so distant future? Syria, Yemen, numerous places in Africa! All places fighting with the same or near same military capabilities as Iraq and Afghanistan, where CAS for ground troops is a paramount issue. So why kill an effective, resilient, proven, tried and true CAS platform? Because there are no lobbyists for more and improved A-10s and upgrades for the current ones that have been flying for nearly 40 years, including over 20 years of proven performance and cost effectiveness. On the other hand, we have scores of lobbyists for the grossly over-budget, unproven, still not deployed, and non-specific CAS platform F-35. So if you had to make a budget decision for building a deck in your backyard, when you arrived at the Big Box DIY hardware store, would you rather spend $100 for a old fashioned circular saw that has proven it's effectiveness for almost a century, or spend $800 for a "Just Released" laser saw with no extensive real use data to show it's effectiveness or estimated lifespan? Cut the number of troops, cut effective cost effective weaponry, and continue to spend more money than the other top 10 military spending countries in the entire world. The Industrial Military Complex at it's finest. :doh:

  23. The flashing "A" I was referring to occurs in "Point Track" mode with the CDU and UFC both selecting "Mark Point". The "A" I'm referring to, is the first letter of the word "Align", just below the target image on the MFCD. Any, very minor slewing of the pod will stop the "A" from flashing, and the word "Align" becomes solid, and I no longer have "Autolase Failures". Just clarifying my post. Matz

I've noticed a few autolase failures recently, and can't remember if I read it here or saw it on YT, when you set your cross to your target in the TGP, at the lower portion of the screen, the word "Align" will have a flashing "A" like [A]lign (no brackets, but the "A" there is flashing). Barely slewing (any movement) of the Pod, and the "A" becomes solid as in "Align", no flashing "A". After I started assuring the "A" was solid, I have yet to experience "Auto-lase Failure" again. Not sure what's happening or why, but this fixed my issue entirely. HTH Matz
  25. After about a year away from the A-10C, I'm now in an almost advanced "relearning" process. I am much more pointed in my methodology. My recommendation is use the tutorials as a spring board. Go through the ramp start, and take-off/landing. Then (while studying the manual, checklists, YT Tutorials etc) sit in the parking area, and "Learn" the cockpit. Know where everything is, it's purpose, how to employ it... make a cold start second nature, then, when that part is behind you! Then move to perfecting (or as close as you can) Take-offs and landings in different places and weather, etc. Then move to the basic weaponry, The Gun! Then Rockets, Mavs, Dumb Bombs, Laser Guided Bombs, etc. I soon realized during my "re-learning", just how little I learned the first time around! Walk slowly and carry a big knowledge stick! I was always terribly inaccurate with the Gun, so now, I have been running mission after mission with just Rockets and the Gun, and becoming proficient at employing them and learning all the nuances of each reticle, approach, angle, everything. Then when you have learned one step, move to the next! I'm still moving at a slow pace, studying, learning, researching and will eventually get there. But when I do arrive closer to "there"... I'll know my stuff! Slow and Steady wins the race! :thumbup: Matz
