  1. That works!.. I have now light and shadow in the cockpit. Thanks again!
  2. Thanks very much! I have the 3G win option already setup so I'll try it out and post results. Cheers
  3. Ahh thanks. Now I can see it. It is so greyed out it is almost invisible and I did not notice it previously . As such it is not selectable. HDR also cannot be turned on so clearly there is something about my system failing to meet some spec. Now as my system is above or at least meets minimum spec as posted what would cause cockpit shadows to be greyed out and unavailable? My system; WinXP (32), cpu 6850 3G duo, 4 GB ram, 8800 GTX 624Mb. No great by today standards but runs BS1 no prob.
  4. I am yet to see a hint of a cockpit shadow despite Shadows being on high and testing other graphics settings but to no avail. Is there a specific graphics setup that is needed or a minimum card etc. that is not listed below ie. 64 bit, high end card, DX10 etc.? My system specs are better than minimum as noted yet I don't get anything like a cockpit shadow despite ensuring time of day and conditions being more than adequate in mission (I would think) to see them. Outside looks like its improved but cockpit looks the same (lighting wise) as BS1 to me. BS2 Minimum system requirements: Operating system: Windows XP, Vista or 7; Processor: Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz; Memory: 3 GB; Free hard disk space: 7 GB; Video: 512 MB RAM card, DirectX 9 - compatible; Sound: DirectX 9.0c - compatible; requires internet activation. Cheers.
  5. Now THAT was awesome. Gotta get some rain on the windscreen indeed!!
  6. If they did that at low alt over a national forest they would be in some serious sh**!
  7. Explaining the benefits of TrackIR to those who haven't used it is like describing great sex to a virgin. They know Mrs Palmer well and wonder why they should bother but once you've had TrackIR, you never go back. :music_whistling:
  8. Lol, never been there but who could resist such a target rich environment when surrounded by so much desert! I'll put money on it that most will at some point soon after getting Nevada will be testing their skills on a particular building or landmark just because they are there! :pilotfly: If not maybe just a slalom run down through the city dodging buildings for a bit of fun.:joystick:
  9. Personally I'm looking forward to dropping a very large laser guided device into a well known casino in the strip. That should make for some nice screen shots of precision drops down the top of the pyramid and other well known spots. Be nice if the buildings have damage modeling as well? Could be quite a war zone in its own right!
  10. The layout in the Nellis Statics Template is almost identical to the Google Earth image of Nellis. Good as any to see how they park the aircraft there. Google can't see the Delta Flyer though. They must have it cloaked ;-)
  11. Lost half a wing? "Check" As long as some of the load out on remaining wing is still there to balance her out she still flies. Hell, she even climbs!! Hmmm, stuffed up first approach and going around to line her up for landing, gear down. Flames from right wing a growing concern. Got a little out of shape on touchdown but hey, she got me home safe. I need a drink!!
  12. I have CH HOTAS system and found that the wheelbrakes are fully on at startup. To release them I actually have to push the brake pedals in fully. I thought that by tapping the brake pedal forward I was releasing the brakes but no, both pedals must be held forward to taxi smoothly. I checked both brake axis in controls and they are not inverted. To get normal operation with the CH pedals I guess I'll have to invert the axis in setup so they work normally.
  13. The level of detail that we already have of a such big section of global real estate in DCS is IMO, fantastic compared to all other flight sims let alone combat flight sims. The amount of work required to make another large sector to that level of detail and quality would be a huge undertaking. FSX caters to a far larger base of the flight sim community (many being real world pilots just keeping up some procedural practice etc) and as such can justify and support an aftermarket industry in updated textures and terrain detail which look great and worth it if your into that. I've spoken to other simmers who have spent thousands on FSX addons and good on them, it looks great and all but I sure couldn't afford or justify it in my family budget. Even if we got a new high quality sector map at $X dollars for the patch/addon/upgrade, is there a big enough market of DCS pilots who would buy it and fly it? I'm sure the forums would fill with comments supporting it but its how many people who actually do put the money down at the end of the day that makes it happen.
  14. I've had no response from Web Master so I'll try here. I'm trying to the the FC 1.12b patch but I can't login to the site and as such can't get the patch. "Authorisation is failed" is all I get yet I have not changed details. Clearly my details are still in the system as I can login here ok with the same info. yet I have had no response either from webmaster or automated password retrieval E-mail. Can any Admins please contact the Web support and see if they can sort this out please? Thanks, RN
