Absolutely correct! I'm praying every night for Voyager to be included into the DCS portfolio! :-D

Hi there! 1. AAP stands for "Auxiliary Avionics Panel" - As it is already described in the manual, I suggest you check it out. 2. correct! 3. There are three modes for autopilot a) Path Hold : It holds your plane's patch, for example if you want to climb for a longer time, you can pitch up 5°, engage the autopilot and it holds that path. b) Alt Hold: It holds the plane's altitude, but can bank while doing it. So if you need to orbit at a WP you can bank the plane, engage autopilot and voila: It orbits and you can drink your coffee c) Alt/Heading Hold: You need to be in level flight and this mode just holds it. 4. Too much Star Trek ;) - It is not capable of that 5. When you're in autopilot and move the stick it disengages the autopilot. Bitchin Betty just notifies you about it. This can also happen when you are in Alt Hold mode and bank too much. Plane loses its speed and cannot hold altitude --> Betty complains I hope my English was not too complicated as it is not my native language. Cheers! Bexx0r

A-10C Mini Campaign: Operation Save Badger (SP & MP)
Bexx0r replied to Quirkitized's topic in User Created Missions General
Yo! I finally had the time to (at least) fly the first mission and I have to say it was the friggin' best experience in DCS A-10C since I have it so far! Really good voice comms! Great scenario which makes your heart pump faster and a manpad that drove me nuts by nearly blasting me out of the sky, twice. After my first gun run at the APCs they hit me, leaving me without my guns, but luckily my wingman stopped them at the last second. Quirkitized, you are my hero! Can't wait to play the rest of this superb mini campaign! Cheers! Bexx0r -------------- EDIT: Accomplished mission 2, yesterday! Great one, as well! A little less action than the first one, but not less fun! Love it! -

Saitek X52 flight stick profile
Bexx0r replied to CrypticVillain's topic in Controller Profiles and Problems
Hey Falcon, thanks for your reply! :) Ministick is the only thing I miss now that I have everything mapped in the game. I already checked all relevant threads in the Saitek forum back until about 2008 but couldn't find a solution. Hottest candidate was the 16-digit-solution, but that didn't do the trick. At some point I also thought it could be the clutch button, so I unchecked it, but it wasn't. Apart from that I never touched it - not even by accident. So that's a dead end, either. Maybe it is really the speedbrakes on the slider, giving continuous inputs, although I always ensure to put it back to middle position. I will check that, later. Thanks for your profile. I will definitely give it a go. Version number for SST is 7.0.24.8 and X52 drivers are the latest for Win7 64Bit. I also had the same problem with the prior SST version. Cheers! Bexx0r -
Oh, I can contribute to this matter, as well. Yesterday I flew a mission for about an hour. I accomplished mission goals and RTBed after that. When I watched the track, I chose a ground target for camera perspective and waited for weapon impact. Instead of an exploding tank, I saw my plane crash into a mountain. Please note: I did not take control of the plane. ---------- On another occasion I just flew around and underpassed (right term?) an oil rig, successfully. When watching the track, my plane hit the water and crashed. Cheers! Bexx0r

Saitek X52 flight stick profile
Bexx0r replied to CrypticVillain's topic in Controller Profiles and Problems
Hi Falcon, the fact that SFJackBauer's profile is quite popular around here and that many ppl use it, leads me to think that it is set up, properly. There are basically only two functions mapped in it: Speedbrakes on the minislider of the throttle HOTAS slew on the ministick of the throttle That's all. Actually, I don't think that you can make many mistakes, mapping those functions, but if you would like to have a look, I could send it over via PM, once I'm home from work. See, only when SST is running, at some point (I cannot pinpoint the trigger for this behaviour) I get the LED flickering, then the LEDs go out and shortly later come back on, but the profile's gone. Without SST, everything is fine and I can fly for hours without any glitches. I still say it's SST, and I am not the only one. I bet there are a lot of ppl much smarter than me, having the same problem, although their profiles are properly set. Cannot speak for other planes than A-10C as I only fly that one. If you happen to have an A-10 profile, maybe you can share it, so I can try that one. Cheers! Bexx0r -
Thanks, Dragon. I only found threads where it was stated that it happens in MP. Didn't look further into it, because I play SP, only. I hope you could catch up the time you wasted to reply ;-)

Saitek X52 flight stick profile
Bexx0r replied to CrypticVillain's topic in Controller Profiles and Problems
I recently abandoned Saitek's SST software, because it really often bailed out and lost the loaded profile. I was using SFJackBauer's profile, but I guess in my case the slider for airbrakes was the problem. Without SST, everything works out fine. I am only missing the use of the ministick, which I cannot bind to HOTAS slew, ingame. Does anyone know how to overcome that? Cheers! Bexx0r -
I am experiencing a rearming problem, as well. I always seem to be able to rearm mission default payload, only. I know that it worked before 1.2.3, but now it doesn't, anymore. Communication with ground crew seems to be normal. I call for rearming, they "copy" it but only put the default payload back on. Any solution to this one? Cheers! Bexx0r

Ooookay, I had a bit time to test some more. My humidity suspicion proved wrong, because also with gloves (haha, yes I did that!) the stick went crazy. Furthermore, I hooked it into a powered usb-hub, and I had a slightly other result. It began to flicker and then the MFD went dark, but it did not lose the profile. Weel, at least for another half hour. Then the MFD came back on without the profile. Totally strange...

Last time I committed fraticide it was during landing. I did not notice that my wingman flew to my right and wanted to land, as well. Touched his wing and down he went - a little faster than intended :D So, maybe it was your buddy? BTW: Post a track for god's sake, haha  Cheers! Bexx0r

Yesterday, I just flew without SST and had no problems, but it was only half an hour. I will have to fly more in order to be sure. Then I flew again with SST and after not even 5 minutes it bailed out, again. And then a suspicion arose. Maybe it has to do with humidity. Yesterday, don't ask why, I had quite sweaty hands. Maybe when the trigger gets moist, is then pressed and transports it into the casing, some kind of short happens? But on the other hand, it should also start to flicker when running without SST, right? Short is short. Next tryout will be with gloves, haha! @ Mr. Burns: Would you be willing to share your mappings with me? Thanks a lot! Cheers! Bexx0r -------------------------------- EDIT: I am especially interested in how to map the Throttle buttons that emulate mouse functions (ministick, mouse button, boat switch), because I cannot do this in the game. Is there a solution to do it without SST?
-
Hi Soupyc, thanks for your reply. Actually, I am not sure what to think about that, anymore. The fact that a lot of ppl have that flickering, followed by a profile loss, and blame it on the software, let's me think, well...it's the software. Getting tiny electric shocks when this happens surely speaks another language and let's me suspect that it's the hardware. When this happens, I also get the typical windows-sound when an usb-device is disconnected. So, maybe this is all about the usb connection. I am currently running it on my laptop. Maybe it has not enough power, causing the stick to bail out from time to time? However, I will firstly try to run this thing without SST in order to rule that one out. If it still happens, maybe I should try a powered usb-hub? Warranty unfortunately is no option. I will still be grateful for good hints of how you all mapped the airbrakes and ministick outside of SST. Thanks a lot! Cheers! Bexx0r

Hi Folks! Like many other users of SST for X52, I also have some strange glitches with it during gameplay. I use the JackBauer profile, which basically, only sets up two functions in SST (Airbrakes and ministick for HOTAS slewing). My problem is that during gameplay at some point, the LEDs are suddenly flickering, then go dark and the stick loses the profile, so that I cannot use airbrakes and ministick, anymore. Whenever this happens, I even get a weak electric shock in my finger through the trigger... Sounds crazy, but is true. I browsed many threads about it and tried most suggestions like, e.g. reducing digits of the command names to under 16 chars, plugged the stick directly to the motherboard-usb, avoiding USB 3.0. None of it helped. EDIT: I also installed the drivers and software in correct order, also plugging in the stick after install, not before. Now I am fed up with it and I would like to abandon this crappy SST-Junk. So, I will have to bind airbrakes and ministick to the stick in the game options. For this, I would like to ask all of you who use their X52 without SST to post how you bind those keys ingame. Already tried to bind the ministick, but this won't work, because it acts like a mouse in the options menu. Many thanks in advance for your suggestions! Cheers! Bexx0r

A-10C Campaign: Operation Jackal
Bexx0r replied to Quirkitized's topic in User Created Missions General
Just finished this campaign, and I had a blast playing it! Many thanks for this, Quirk! Only glitch I had was JTAC advising me to attack AAA with Guns in one mission (didn't obey that order ;-) ), but that's all. EDIT: Any chance to see more coming from you in the near future? I really enjoyed it! -
Man, thanks a lot for this mission! At the moment, this is the only mission for me to fly, and it improved my GAU-8 skills, significantly. Yesterday, I made it through for the first time (okay, I had to RTB, twice...). I guess I will carry on until I accomplish to make it through without RTB'ing. Cheers! Bexx0r

For SFJackBauer's profile, you need to remap keys "B" and "N" for the air brakes on the throttle-mini-slider. Important: If you used the air brakes, always put the slider back to the middle position. Otherwise, it continuously sends key signals of either "B" or "N", which could lead to freezes or CTDs. Cheers Bexx0r

Jo, Freetrack wird unterstützt und läuft super!

Moinsen! Cheers! Bexx0r

Hi Taproot, i think this has to do with the Aero-Desktop checkbox in the game options. Change it and it should work. Good luck! Cheers Bexx0r

Freetrack 2.2 and PS3 Eye Toy --- Access violation
Bexx0r replied to Bexx0r's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Gotta bump this one, as this matter is still not solved. I cannot look around in external view. Left alt + c does not do the trick. Numpad keys work just fine. I read bazillions of threads, but without success. I did not alter any .lua files. If anybody could point me towards the solution, I would be grateful. Thanks a lot! Cheers Bexx0r
