  1. Hi, I really would appreciate it if anyone can help me with a problem with my Saitek Pro Flight Combat rudder pedals. They were working fine until yesterday as I was going through the Huey tutorial for starting up the chopper and suddenly they just stopped working properly. One minute they were totally functional then the next the only movement they responded to was my pressing down of the toe-brakes. When I pushed the pedals to try to get rudder movement they were just not responding. I tried the pedals with other DCS aircraft with still no registering of my pushing the pedals except for the toe-brakes. I did not change anything with the connections to my PC and have tried several times to get them working by pulling the USB connection out from my PC and put it back in with no success. I made sure I was out of the game when I did this. I did also try plugging them into a different USB port but still they would not work properly. I experimented moving the friction knob as well with no change. I had changed nothing with the controls settings too when they started to do this. I tried them in Microsoft Flight Simulator and even there the rudder would still not work at all. Has anyone else experienced this and is there anything I can do to try to rectify this or are they just broken? Not sure what to do so any help is much appreciated. ozTRipwiRE
  2. Hi everyone, I am one of those who can not get the rocket firing reticule to work properly in the Huey. I read all I could find about deleting and backing up the joystick and keyboard lua files under ‘/Saved Games/DCS/Config/Input/UH-1H’ (as recommended by EvilBivol) and just want to clarify that I am doing the right thing before doing this. I opened up the ‘/Saved Games/DCS/Config/Input/UH-1H’ files and saw (for the keyboard files),’ Keyboard.lua’ which was modified on the 12 Sep 2013. Under the joystick files were the files, ‘Joystick-HOTAS Warthog…’ LUA file along with LUA files for my rudder pedals and throttle. I want to back up the input files that I am meant to delete. Would it do to just copy and paste the ‘Keyboard.lua’ and ‘Joystick-HOTAS Warthog…’ LUA files that I mentioned into a new folder on my Desktop and then just send the original two files to the recycle bin? I am not sure if that is what I am meant to do. These are the two input files I am meant to delete aren't they? Also somebody mentioned that I have to update input files. Can anyone please tell me how to do that? Thanks for any help, ozTRipwiRE
  3. Hi John, I am afraid I may need a bit more help. The only thing I could find behind and above the glass was the lever called the Pilot Sight Armed/Safe. When I clicked that it brought the sight down. Still could not get a reticule inside the sight though. I could only see the actual brightness knob (Pilot Sighting Station Intensity) from the left pilot's position, but left and right clicking and scrolling my mouse wheel up and down that did nothing and I still have no reticule. Without seeing the actual brightness knob I did the same from the right pilot's position but this also did not turn on the reticule. Is this what you were saying to do? Thanks, ozTRipwiRE
  4. Hi ENO, Thanks for your help. I would like you to make a simple formation flying mission for me actually. Would it be possible to make one for the Huey as it is my favourite aircraft? If that is not possible then one for the Mig29S or similar aircraft would also be much appreciated. Thanks, ozTRipwiRE
  5. Hi, I have a few questions about the DCS Huey module. The first is about the corrector in flight. Whenever I bump it even a little it sends my chopper spiralling to the ground and there is nothing that I can do to do anything about it. If I try to take back control I cannot. I don’t think that it is just my flying skills either. Is this normal or is something wrong with my controls setup or something like that? My second question is in regards to the reticule for the Huey. As I noticed others had experienced the rocket reticule seems to not be working properly. When I do everything as described in the tutorial to bring up the reticule (I made sure that the Master Arm was on and that rocket pairs were properly set etc) the reticule does not appear properly. I clicked a part of the right pilot mechanism that I presume could be the one that brings the sight down for firing rockets (it could be for firing the machine guns, I am still trying to work it out) and this did bring it down in front of me but there was no actual reticule in it. I saw that it is advised to increase the brightness of the reticule by turning the brightness knob but I could not adjust the knob when my mouse was over it (I could not see a knob but it showed up as being over the brightness knob) As I got the sight down in front of me is this the same problem that MadTommy had, for example, or is this something I am doing wrong and not a bug? If it is a bug I saw from other posts that it is recommended to delete input files but I was wondering if this will probably be fixed in the next update without me deleting input files? If not a bug could anyone please tell me how to get the rocket-firing reticule to work properly. I pressed ‘M’ and nothing happened except putting Flexible Mode on. Thanks very much for any help, ozTRipwiRE
  6. Hi, Just looking for any single-player missions that exist that could help me to practice formation take-offs, formation flying and landings in preparation for doing these sort of things in online coop and multiplayer with real human players. Can anyone please put me onto any of these type of missions that are out there? I know that opportunities exist of training with other people but I am still working on competency with the DCS games and I may not be ready for that yet. I have never played any online coop and multiplayer with the DCS sims and was wondering if anyone could tell me what exactly it involves? I presume it involves formation flying and things like that. What else does it involve? Would a normal Turtle Beach Xbox 360/PC headset work for it do people need to download software to play online and communicate properly with other players? Thanks very much, ozTRipwiRE
  7. Hi Adder76, Thanks very much for that info, I will check it out. ozTRipwiRE
  8. Finding enemy aircraft in FC3 missions Hi, Thanks guys for your input, it was very helpful. Adder76 said something about mission triggers. What are they and what do they do, and how do I enable them? Could they help me find enemy aircraft in FC3 Instant Action and Campaign missions? Thanks very much, ozTRipwiRE :)
  9. Bullseye as a 'reference point'? Hi joey45, Thanks very much for your help. You said that the red bullseye is a 'reference point'. I am afraid that I am a relative beginner with playing flight sims and don’t know exactly what you mean by a ‘reference point’ and how that translates into playing the FC3 sim. Could you please tell me what you mean by a ‘reference point’? If you don’t mind could you also please tell me if that has anything to do with locating enemy aircraft in the mission that I have asked about (and others too of course)? Thanks very much, ozTRipwiRE
  10. Hi, I have been trying to finish the Instant Action Mission for Flaming Cliffs 3 in the Mig29S, ‘Combat Air Patrol’ and have a question regarding mission structure. I flew in the direction that I was in at mission start and flew towards the top of the map. I soon engaged some enemies with my flight and shot some down. I noticed the red bullseye (near Krasnodar-Center) further towards the top of the map and flew towards it expecting to find the remaining enemy aircraft. I landed at the friendly airport of Gudauta to refuel and rearm which I did there. I took off and flew towards the red bullseye again. I got there and flew around the area covering as much ground as I could before running out of fuel and having to finish the mission unsuccessfully. I thought that flying towards the red bullseye would lead me to the remaining enemies but it did not. If anyone could please explain the structure of this mission to me so I can better understand how to find the remaining enemies when 4/8 are already shot down I really would appreciate it. ozTRipwiRE
  11. Thanks for your help Hi Kenan, Thanks very much for your help with my landing gear issue. I have checked my airspeed when trying to lower my landing gear and this seems to have resolved the issue. I got the gear down properly and landed okay so thanks again. ozTRipwiRE
  12. Hi, I have been getting into Flaming Cliffs 3 quite a bit for the first time and have a question about the landing gear in missions such as the ‘F15C Intercept’ Instant Action mission. When I go to play this mission and the other Instant Action missions for planes such as the Mig29S (in the ‘Combat Air Patrol’ mission) most of the time I can’t get the landing gear down when I want to land to rearm and refuel. I pressed the ‘G’ key as listed for the ‘Landing Gear Down/Up’ in the controls for both aircraft but almost always nothing happens and the landing gear stays retracted. Is this something I am doing wrong or is this a glitch? I thought that I may perhaps have to change something in the aircraft to get the gear to come down properly but have no idea what to do in regards to that. I did also map the ‘Landing gear Down/Up’ command to a button on my Warthog stick but had the same problem. My specs are: Intel Core i7-4770 CPU @3.40GHz LGA 1150, 8GB Corsair DDR3 1600MHz RAM, 64 bit operating system, Leadtek GTX 660TI PCI-E 2GB 192-bit DDR5 graphics card, Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3 4xDDR3 motherboard. My sound card is a 256MB RAM 3-core MDX Intel ® Display Audio, NVIDIA High Definition Audio and Realtek High Definition Audio. Thanks very much for any help, ozTRipwiRE
  13. Thanks for your help Hi, Thanks very much. I separated the two throttles on my TM Warthog throttle and just used the left one which has so far totally done away with the take-off problem with the RPM LIMIT warning. The left section just acts as the collective now and I just left the right one at the OFF position. By the way you mentioned that my throttle may be acting as the 'corrector'. As I am still trying to learn how the Huey works would anyone be able to tell me exactly what the 'corrector' does in the Huey? Thanks, ozTRipwiRE
  14. Hi, I am trying to learn about programming joysticks etc and I have some beginners questions about default TM Warthog commands/programming for DCS Warthog, Black Shark/BS2, FC3, Huey and Mustang. I noticed in the Options for DCS Warthog that only some commands for my new Thrustmaster Warthog joystick, throttle and Saitek Pro Flight Combat rudder pedals were listed (under the Controls section). Does this mean that even with DCS Warthog I have to program most of the commands for the stick myself or is the stick fully programmed but just doesn’t show up the commands in the Options? If only these commands that show up in the Options are programmed into the HOTAS stick does that mean that I have to use a keyboard or something like that if I don’t complete the programming? I have seen a section in the forum on profiles but as I said I am just trying to learn how all this works so if anyone could guide me on the basics of how to actually set up and use these type of profiles I really would appreciate it. Thanks, ozTRipwiRE
  15. Problem with RPM Warning on take-off Hi, Thanks very much for your input. Since I put a post on the forum about my issue taking off in the Huey I have tried taking-off again using my old Logitech Extreme 3D Pro stick. I have posted an example of me attempting a very rough take-off using that stick and one using the Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS stick and Saitek Pro Flight Combat rudder pedals. When I used the Logitech stick the RPM Limit Warning did not come at all (it never has so far) and when I tried doing the same with the TM Warthog the RPM LIMIT warning came on pretty much straight away. If this is just the natural behaviour of the Huey could anyone please tell me why this RPM Limit Warning comes on when I use my TM Warthog stick and not when using my Logitech stick with exactly the same PC and settings etc? Is it a problem with the configuration of the TM Warthog stick or a similar problem? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, ozTRipwiRE Huey take-off problem with RPM limit Warning TM W Stick.trk Huey take-off problem with RPM limit Warning Logitech Stick.trk
  16. Hi, I have an issue with the DCS Huey beta that I really would appreciate help with. I have recently bought a new Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS flight stick along with Saitek Pro Flight Combat rudder pedals and new PC and when I try to take-off in the Huey at the start of the first campaign level in the beta, the RPM Limit warning light goes on along with the warning sound and it seems to play havoc with the flight controls. I know that you have to compensate for the Huey wanting to turn to the right during take-off normally but this seems to be way over the top. I pressed the left pedal even more and pulled the cyclic back and to the left but when I tried to take off the Huey just went to the right. It was okay until I gently increased collective to take-off and then came on. If anyone could tell me what is wrong here I really would appreciate it. So far I have not changed anything in regards to the configuration of my Warthog stick or anything like that. The stick also has worked fine when controlling the Warthog in DCS Warthog, for example. I never had this problem on my old PC and old Logitech Extreme 3D Pro stick. My PC specs are: Intel Core i7-4770 CPU @3.40GHz LGA 1150, 8GB Corsair DDR3 1600MHz RAM, 64 bit operating system, Leadtek GTX 660TI PCI-E 2GB 192-bit DDR5 graphics card, Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3 4xDDR3 motherboard. My sound card is a 256MB RAM 3-core MDX Intel ® Display Audio, NVIDIA High Definition Audio and Realtek High Definition Audio. Thanks very much for your help, ozTRipwiRE
  17. Thanks for your help resolving sound problem Hi, Just want to say thanks very much for your help trying to get the sound to work properly on my new PC for my ED games. I put my headset into my PC and found that the sound worked fine even during missions. I then put my speaker’s cord that was in my TV straight into the headphone jack on my PC and that got the sound working through my speakers. This worked fine even during missions. Thanks again for your help to resolve this issue, it is very much appreciated. ozTRipwiRE
  18. Please help me to get sound in game-Reply to USSR Rik Hi USSR Rik, Thanks for your help. I have saved the log files and have attached them to this post. I hope that that is what you meant by archiving. When I looked up the log files the ones under 'DCS' showed up as not being modified the day I last saved the game while those log files under 'DCS Warthog' did, so I attached those that were under 'DCS Warthog'. Just in case you still wanted those log files under 'DCS' I attached them anyway. Hopefully you can easily tell which are which by their names. If I have done this wrong once again could you please tell me what to do to do this properly? 19. Hi, Just wondering how to test my new Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS stick in the 'TARGET' software? I am not sure I have downloaded/set up the 'TARGET' software properly. I have the TARGET Script Editor and the TARGET GUI installed with shortcuts on the desktop but cannot find out how to test my HOTAS stick. Could anyone please tell me how to test my stick in this program? Have I somehow missed anything with this set-up/installation? Any help is very much appreciated. ozTRipwiRE
  20. Hi, Thanks very much for that information. I downloaded the 'TARGET' software using it so thanks very much. ozTRipwiRE
  21. Hi, I recently bought a Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS flight stick and want to test it out and configure it for games such as DCS Warthog, Black Shark and so on. I do realise that it is pretty much plug and play with the Warthog. I visited the Thrustmaster site and could not find out how to download their TARGET software to do so. Could anybody please tell me how to download this software? I am also looking for a list of commands for the TM Warthog stick (for the DCS Warthog sim) that shows in picture form exactly what the switches they are discussing are as I am pretty new to flight sims and have so far just been using a cheaper stick along with the keyboard, and am still learning what switches are what on the TM Warthog. Thanks very much in advance for your help. :) ozTRipwiRE
  22. Please help me get sound in game! Hi, Sorry USSR Rik about taking so long to send this to you but I have been away. I am not sure if this is what you were asking me to send to you but I have attached a saved track of me playing the Sitting Ducks mission in Warthog without sound. Hope it is what you wanted. If not could you please tell me how to properly attach the log file you asked me for? Thanks very much for your help, it is much appreciated. Also NB Eagle, I did not change any settings of the motherboard at all. I left everything as it came when I bought the PC. Thanks, ozTRipwiRE Sitting Ducks mission.trk
  23. Hi everyone, I have been trying to set up DCS Warthog on a new PC (as well as the Huey beta and LOMAC/Flaming Cliffs 3) to use with a Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS stick and Saitek Pro Flight Combat Rudder Pedals. All seemed to work OK until I tried to load up a mission (Sitting Ducks) and then the sound just went totally off. It worked properly until I started the actual gameplay and then when I was put into the cockpit all sound stopped. It also happened in the Huey beta. Of course I pressed 'Pause' to begin the mission before this happened. As soon as I stopped playing 'in-cockpit' and got back into the other menu screens the sound came back on. Could anyone please help me to fix this? Any help would really be appreciated. 0 My computer specs are: Intel Core i7-4770 CPU @3.40GHz LGA 1150, 8GB Corsair DDR3 1600MHz RAM, 64 bit operating system, Leadtek GTX 660TI PCI-E 2GB 192-bit DDR5 graphics card, Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3 4xDDR3 motherboard. My sound card is a 256MB RAM 3-core MDX Intel ® Display Audio, NVIDIA High Definition Audio and Realtek High Definition Audio. Sorry if I have written these out wrongly as I am not extremely technically minded. Sorry also if I have given out too much info here as I wasn't sure exactly what to include. ozTRipwiRE
  24. Hi, I have started to play the Open Mission 'AWACS Attack' in LOMAC (flying the F15C) and have a problem spotting enemy aircraft on the VSD as horizontal bars when in Beyond Visual Range mode. I have gone through the tutorial for this several times but most of the time cannot seem to see enemy targets on the VSD. I first pressed '2' to go to BVR mode then turned on the VSD by pressing 'i'. I put the radar range to 160 (top right of VSD) which I believed would scan ahead of my plane out to 160 nautical miles. I also put the elevation scale on the left side of the VSD as high as I could and as low as I could which I thought would cover as much area as possible when trying to get the approaching enemy aircraft to show up on my VSD. I set the previous scale from '0' to ''56' or so. I even climbed to around their altitude but they did not show up on my VSD even then. I flew towards them and they shot me down without even showing up on my VSD in Beyond Visual Range mode. Can anybody please tell me what am I doing wrong? Any help sorting this out would be much appreciated. Thanks, ozTRipwiRE
