Every Saturday night, our air wing engages in Operations Nights, marking a highlight of our weekly activities. These sessions are dedicated to large-scale training exercises or, during deployment periods, actual combat operations. When not deployed, our focus shifts to extensive training scenarios, including joint operations with allied forces, carrier qualification, and cross-training to enhance versatility and teamwork. These operations nights are not just about refining skills but also about executing complex maneuvers and strategies in a more dynamic, challenging environment. They provide an excellent opportunity for our pilots to test their mettle, adapt to diverse scenarios, and maintain the highest level of readiness, whether in training or in virtual combat situations.

Every Thursday night, our air wing embarks on dedicated training, a pivotal part of our weekly routine. These training nights allow pilots to hone their skills under the guidance of experienced Instructor Pilots (IPs) and Flight Leads. Focusing on specific tasks or structured training programs, these sessions are integral for both individual skill enhancement and team coordination. To elevate the realism and efficacy of training, we often incorporate roles such as Landing Signal Officers (LSO), Air Traffic Control (ATC), and Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTAC), providing a comprehensive and immersive learning environment. Whether you're refining your tactics or mastering new maneuvers, these training nights are key to our squadron's proficiency and readiness.
  3. Hey guys, I'm moving into the Varjo Aero from my G2 and looking for recommendations for sound and mic. I liked that it was integrated on my rift S and G2. Personally I'd rather not do speakers but earbuds or headphones with built in mic. What are you guys running with the Aero? Thx!
  4. The 107th Virtual Fighter Squadron "Red Devils" is the premiere A-10C squadron in DCS World and is the first squadron of the coming Virtual Air National Guard. The 107th vFS is a MILSIM heavy squadron, but accepts pilots of all skill levels. We chose the Air National Guard for realism as it is easier to emulate the part time schedule. The 107th vFS and vANG as a whole is ideal for anyone who wants to live out the dream of being an Air Force pilot. Many were never able to recognise that dream for various reasons, we have brought in real world knowledge of aviation and military operations to provide a great alternative and build strong bonds. We invite all interested to check out our website: govang.org A new type of DCS Squadron, built from the ground up focusing on a balance or realism, fun, and flexibility. Custom Built Aircrew Center We have developed our own Aircrew Resource Management System (ARMS) with pilot profiles, aircrew & aircraft records, our Fighter Pilot U LMS, and Pilot Resource Library. We are also working to add several never-before-seen amenities in our future ARMS updates. Pilot Rank, Badges, and Awards Just as in the real world, our pilots gain rank and earn badges and awards. Our rank system is non-authoritative yet displays seniority, while badges and awards give our pilots a sense of purpose and something to strive for. Veteran Developed Story-Based Ops We were founded by real world aviators, former Air Force Aviators, a former Forward Observer and experienced DCS players. We’ve pulled this knowledge together to create a second-to none group with realistic scenarios, operations, and deployments. Realistic ANG-Based Scheduling The 107th has a Squadron Night once a month and otherwise pilots are free to schedule flights as necessary to maintain currency. This does change with deployment, but the concept is the same, 2 pilots can sync schedules for a flight much easier than 36. Training & Currency Program We want to the 107th vFS to function much like the real squadron with the best A-10 pilots in DCS. At the same time, we wanted the group to be available to all skill levels. To accomplish this, we have an extensive training and currency program for all skill levels. Service Exchange Program COMING SOON! We are working to partner with other groups of similar caliber to give our pilots the opportunity to try different aircraft and operations while still maintaining their slot with the 107th. Typically, pilots will spend one deployment with the partner group. And Our Most Valuable Feature…….Our People! What truly makes a Squadron and gives it character is its people. Our founders established a laid back, aviation brotherhood culture and it continues on. It’s a wonderful thing when you find a group/ new friends that you really connect with.
  5. Hey guys, does anyone have a tutorial or quick steps on how to host mods? Working on a squadron and have no idea how to host the mod repository so people can get them with say OVGME or maybe OMM. Site is currently going to be hosted on Squarespace if that matters. Thanks in advance for the info!
  6. I checked the search with no success.....is there a way to either script a live internet radio station into a server mission on an am or fm freq? I feel like I've heard this being done before but no luck with research. Thx!
  7. For you awesome mod makers out there I'd like to add a request/suggestion. With all these helicopters and the C-130 coming some makeshift airfield/ FARP stuff would be cool to see and if you message me, I'd be happy to donate to the project. 1. Airfield Cones, boundary markers, runway markers (Circular and Rectangular) 2. Dirt runway strip (idk how this would work unless its a completely flat surface but it'd be cool to have a way to actually place a visible dirt runway on the map. 3. The big tent hangars from like Kandahar or Bagram (if you've seen them) 4. Some working lights with triggers (think like peaceable runway edge lights that you can trigger to come on when the aircraft is in range) Just some thoughts of mine. Cheers!
  8. I wish I had the skills to design and mod but I don't. I do however have some thoughts on a simple and 2 probably less simple items that would help pilots greatly. If any modders out there are up to the challenge, these would be awesome. 1. VS17 Panels and humvee with VS17 panel....these are perfect for marking DZs, LZs, Friendly Troop/JTAC location, and FARPs. How DCS doesn't have this by now is crazy. Should be super easy to make....they are just bright orange fabric squares and or rectangles 2. Ground placeable and/or HUMVEE with IR Strobe. IR strobes are used by JTACs and some vehicles at night to be identified by pilots under NVGs. 3. The biggest request of all.....a field IFLOLS. In my computer ignorance I would assume it wouldn't be a huge problem....figure out the descent angle for a CASE I and have the lights set to it and make them bright. Im sure there is a lot more to it than that but its crazy that X-plane has one (see photo below) and DCS doesn't. Happy New Years everyone!
  9. Man if I knew anything about computers, design, modding and all that I would help but I don't know anything that would help. DCS also really needs VS17 panels and a VS17 panel humvee
  10. Love your mod pack! My favorite for airfield items. Its probably pretty complex but a field IFLOLS that actually works would be beyond awesome and practically every DCS naval squadron would be in your debt. In the attached pic, someone is making one for X-plane....
  11. With the Apache coming, I was wondering if anyone knows if there will be or plans for some sort of awareness logic. I have done flights in the gazelle before where I’ve used terrain masking, and vegetation concealment several clicks away from enemy armor yet somehow they always magically know I’m there. Realistically if you are operating correctly in the Apache or Kiowa they shouldn’t know you are there, giving opportunities for observation. On the same token, I was wondering if there is already or plans for a suppression logic. If use Combined Arms to do an artillery suppression mission, will it keep enemy AI (say armor or AAA) suppressed to allow friendly helicopter movement?
  12. For the 3D printer and CAD guys, Do any of you have or can design a small landing gear knob grip that could slide over the toggle switch on the Winwing Orion. Please PM me with a price! If you make other 3d Printed flight sim parts please let me know as well........have $$$ will trade lol. Thanks!
  13. Both the CAG and line birds are awesome but at least the CAG bird if someone can take it on.
  14. I see the issue here, I think a checkbox would be best. Check the box to have the planes visible. I do more squadron ops so I dont tend to have the issue of staffing my home base or the boat, but I see the issue for open MP PvP servers.
