[CLOSED] Disable TiR5 external views?

Of course I can but like I said in the post above I wonder if I can disable this new "feature". I don't want any TrackIR motion in external views and the update changed something that didn't need changing. -
Since the last update TiR5 is affecting external views as well. But not in all modules strangely enough. Is there as simple way to disable TiR5 for external views completely? Other than shutting down the sensor that is...

According to several different sources this maneuver was practised a lot by Viggen pilots. The delta wing design is one reason why it is possible to achieve according to the same sources. I would be very surprised if the Swedish pilot mentioned a lower altitude than what was the case. Chances are that he was even lower. You can say a lot about us Swedes, but bragging about achievements isn't something that is common practice. Unless your name is Zlatan Ibrahimovic of course.:D

Not sure if this has been posted in this thread before but it is a interesting read about a dramatic event over the Baltic sea during the Cold War involving a SH37 and a Soviet Su-15. [ame]http://www.flygtorget.se/illustrationer/fil_20110110093819.pdf[/ame] Short summary In July 1985 a unarmed SH37 (recon version) was sent out from F13 to monitor a Soviet naval exercise just outside the Soviet territorial line. Two Su-15F's were sent out from Vainode in Latvia as a "welcoming party". The Viggen pilot identified one of the Su's as "Yellow 36" and took a picture of it with his camera while the other Su flew at a distance. Since the area to cover was large, the pilot decided to head back to base and broke away from the Soviet aircraft. After refueling he headed back out. Since he didn't want company this time he flew without using radios or radar at 150m altitude. At 1800 hours he did a "radar push" towards Liepaja and Swedish STRIL informed him that Soviet aircraft had taken off from Vainode once again. He was flying too low and too far away from Sweden for direct communication but he had JA37's at high altitude close to Gotland as cover and they relayed the message: "fighters from NE, distance 50km". After a few minutes he discovered the fighters and noticed that it was the same planes as earlier that day. But this time "Yellow 36" stayed at a distance and the other plane closed in on his tail. The pilot, Larsson said "we did some turning but then I needed some space to work so I decided the dance was over". The Soviet plane followed approx 50 meters behind the SH37 when Larsson performed a half-roll at 500 m altitude towards the surface at a speed of 550-700 km/h and with high G. At 100 meters as he pulled out of the maneuver, Larsson was surprised to see that the Soviet pilot had followed him through the roll instead of realising that a fully loaded Su-15 couldn't outmaneuver a basically empty Viggen. The Soviet pilot was unable to recover and splashed into the Baltic sea in a huge fireball. No signs of a ejection were noted. Larsson then decided to abort the mission, turned on the afterburner and headed for home. Sweden later monitored Soviet surface vessels and aircraft in the crash area for several hours before they aparently aborted. The Soviet Su-15F pilot, belonging to 54 GvIAP in Vainode, was most likely killed during this incident. There were no official comments from either The USSR to Sweden or vice versa after the incident. A Swedish report concluded that Larsson had done nothing wrong. I keep getting this error when trying to pre-purchase the F-5 from the ED store. I own all modules except the L-39 prior to the release of the F-5 and all have been paid with the same VISA and card number eventhough the CVV has changed as previous cards expired. The card issuer is Swedish SEB and I am using it without issues all over the place so I am pretty sure the card or account isn't the issue. Any ideas?

I used SpaceSniffer to see if I could free some space on my system (http://www.uderzo.it/main_products/space_sniffer/index.html). I noticed that I had 7GB in the .torrents map in my DCS 2.0 install: (..\DCS World 2 OpenAlpha\_downloads\.torrents) Are these files needed to run DCS or can I safely delete them?

This seems to be an issue specifically linked to the 360 wireless controller together with Win 10. The wired controller works as intended. It has also been brought up in the Steam DCS forum: http://steamcommunity.com/app/223750/discussions/0/412448792350373660/

Yes, surely the missile shouldn't be steerable when you run out of wire and I thought wire length was part of the operational limit here? But then again I'm not an expert on wire-guided missiles.

Am I the only one thinking it is awfully quiet on the bomber front for DCS Normandy? How are we going to get even remotely realistic gameplay with just fighters? I know there is a Ju-87 planned but other than that I only see talks about fighters. The lack of bombers will also be a problem for realistic multiplayer. Dogfighting for the sake of dogfighting seems kind of boring in the long run. Since Il-2 Battle of Stalingrad/Moscow got their act together I hardly ever touch the DCS warbirds (this is NOT a Il-2/DCS comparison thread btw). There is simply no immersion flying them and I doubt that we will have any real immersion without being able to fly escort missions or proper ground attacks. Since DCS now allows for more than one player in a plane it seems as a no-brainer to have planes with gunners. Instead of Hortens, new scenarios (since Normandy isn't ready yet) and aircraft carriers it would be great to have at least one allied and one axis medium bomber. Of course B-17's and Lancasters would be awesome but I would be happy with lighter aircraft as well. As long as they aren't fighters...

Yes it is easy to control if you know what you are doing and firing single shots is no problem at all.

Best weapon I used in when I was in the military. It simply never failed regardless of weather conditions (During my service the temp interval was between -25C and +30C) and it required a minimum amount of maintenance and cleaning. Not that many weapons to this day that you can swim with in saltwater, crawl through sand and expect to work flawlessly afterwards... It was easy to handle as well with it's folding stock and the wooden grip was actually pretty comfortable. I actually earned my PEK patch with the M/45. (Prisskjutning Eldhandvapen Kulspruta = "Target shooting Firearm Machinegun")

Problem was that we had to use a collector for the spent cases during training. The rate of fire of the m/45 is pretty high as it is and sometimes the cases bounced back and got stuck. With more spring tension and even higher r.o.f that likelyhood increased. But I have seen it done though and it almost sprays as a MAC-10. On one occasion the barrel exploded...

There is only one word that comes to mind when I see how they handle the helmet covers - "Ludermässigt" (as my old drill sergeant would have put it...). Properly done it should look something like this: I also notice my fav weapon ever - The trusted M/45. Probably the best sub-machine gun ever constructed. Don't know how many 1000 rounds I have fired with it. Great piece of kit!
