    Junk mail?

Is it possible that this is coincidental? That can't be totally ruled out. The fact that this happened minutes after "reactivating" my DCS account (their word, not mine) lead my to believe that this was a cause and effect situation as opposed to coincidence. I guess the question is "Does DCS share information with marketing partners as a way to generate revenue?" If the answer is "Yes", then there is no need to look any further for the cause. The only information I could find regarding this is on the Legal page and states, "We respect your right to privacy and will only process personal data and other information you provide to us, or we collect about you, in accordance with applicable privacy and personal data protection laws." Which really doesn't say one way or the other. I too am interested in learning your "unique method" of determining where spam is originating from. EDIT: Separate Emails for all of your login sounds interesting. Although that would require about 300 (and counting) email addresses. Maybe you could use your method to create a new forum account to determine if new user info is shared.

    Junk mail?

To clear up a couple of things. The emails are not from DCS. They are the types of emails one gets from the email being sold to "marketing partners". I've DM'ed BIGNEWY in hopes he can figure this out. Although that door can't be closed once it's been opened. I logged directly into the DCS forum via the bookmark link that I've had on my computer for several years. the same one I used to return to this thread this evening. My computer stays updated and automatically performs security scans weekly. I logged in right after checking my email this evening, that had an additional 22 phishing/sales emails in the junk folder. I am very frustrated by this as I'm sure any of you would be. Maybe someone can open a new DCS account using an alternative email. Not one that you currently use or you may become as frustrated as I am.

    Junk mail?

The other day was the first time I've been here in quite some time. When I signed in there was a message stating something about great to see me back and something about my account being re-activated or some such thing. Starting about ten minutes after signing in, the junk mail started. Since the other day I've received over 100 junk emails. On average I would normally get about 10 a week. So thanks for that DCS. Great way to welcome me back.
  4. Did you ever add analog or encoder support this board? Was thinking about using the one I have for a new project. Thanks. John
  5. Hi brydling. It's been a while. I dissembled my A-10c simulator in 2018 when I switched to VR, but I'm in the process of building a GA twin cockpit for MSFS. Digging through my box of Flight Sim hardware I came across your board. Every time I see it I wonder if you ever added encoder support. Any chance you found the time to do this in the last 9 years? ;D Is it possible to get the source code, to take a swing at it myself? Thanks. John
  6. I've been gone from the forum for some time. Did Viper ever make these models available? I'm getting back into DCS and want to add an AH-64 head to my collective.
  7. I have the Saitek combat pedals but below deck they are the same as yours. I installed bearings in place of the sliding plastic pieces. Makes them glassy smooth. Saitek rudder pedals bearing mod. by Thick8 - Thingiverse
  8. Have you guys seen this on Steam? I've tried it in MSFS and was blown away. You can create a static box that displays the HMD camera's view of that spot. I placed a box over my button box. The box stayed in place as I moved my head around. I could reach out and see my hand working the switches and dials. It was frickin' awesome. The developer says that adding the use of a webcam is on the todo list. That way we could mount a camera to our headsets like PointCNTL, but actually see (and use) our physical simpit.
  9. Yes. The soldering process for the 8-pin mini din was a PITA. (I have several failure videos to prove it) I realized that someone with less than a mastery skill would not be able to do it. So I had to try a couple of different methods (and wait for parts) till I hit on one that anyone could do. I am average at soldering and I can solder up the whole connector in less than 10 minutes. I will have the last part of the base assembly video up tomorrow. I also felt that the hat switch needed to be simplified. I found the perfect replacement but had to do a slight redesign the Huey head in order to make the video with the new switch. It should be finished printing tomorrow and I will start the Huey head assembly video. Sorry it’s been slow going but I’ve been crazy busy at work these past few weeks. Nothing like working 8 hours a day in a 100f+ degree shop to suck the life out of a person. John
  10. You are inadvertently double clicking your middle mouse button whilst scrolling the wheel. Scroll less enthusiastically or just double click the wheel to change focus back. Hope this helps. John
  11. LOL! The funny part is that I’m a mechanic by trade and have 8 “manly” Snap-on hammers in my toolbox at work.
  12. Sorry about the time between updates. It's been crazy busy at work and I've been pretty beat by the time I get home in the evening; so I haven't been spending as much time building the collectives. I have finished the first interchangeable head collective (There's a video of it on my phone that I'll upload) and am currently using it it. I didn't make a video of it's assembly but I've just finished the last part of the base assembly video on the one I printed last week. I will have to edit it and get it up on YouTube. I will start on the head assembly video tomorrow. That one will be for sale once it's finished next week some time. The next one should be done printing early next week. Not sure if I'm going to build it or sell it as a self build kit. Once the assembly videos are posted I hope to have some feedback on that decision. Thanks for you interest. John EDIT: I've posted the first 11 assembly videos on my YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCroXLHnirCH9a5ZsEa-LT2w/videos

    Totally done

I'm on my 3rd final cockpit. Just sayin'... :music_whistling:
  14. I still think the OLED screens of the Odyssey+ are much better than the LED/LCD screens of the other offerings. I do love to fly at night though. Richer colors and deeper blacks with virtually no screen door effect at all. The adjustable IPD goes pretty wide too if you need that feature. And a 1080ti will hold a steady 45 FPS with lots of eye candy enabled. They can be had used for $250 which would give you an idea if VR is for you. If you don't like them you can get your money back out of them on eBay, John
  15. Hiya Deadman, My searches yielded no fruit unfortunately. It looks like I will be drawing it from scratch. I don’t fly the KA-50 so when I had issues reinstalling it on my new machine a couple years back I just left it off. I will have to see if I can get that module working again. Thanks. John
