  1. Thanks, but apparently you did not read the post. He has the Combat Pedals, which have a different driver than the 'regular' pedals. I am aware of the latest drivers for both units, but they are dysfunctional. They cause issues with each other, and the Profile STOPS working, together they cause BSODs and lock ups of programmed keys and Axis. We tried the Beta drivers and nothing seemed to 'mesh' with each other. Alone each unit works fine. Together, a whole different story. *** EDIT *** Again, thanks. But hacking the registry is the LAST thing we want to do, while we are trying to get the functions to work normally.
  2. Awesome. What version? Are you using the SST Software? Do you also have the Saitek Pro Combat Rudder Pedals? This issue seems to be ONLY with the Combat Pedals and the X65F, while using the SST software.
  3. WHOA! You should wait for the APU to reach 100%, then start engine 1. Wait for 60% idle, then start engine 2. At 60% idle for E2, you can then turn your APU off. In order to start a jet engine you need Power and Air Bleed. Both of these are provided by the APU. However, if you requested Ground Power, then all you need from the APU is the Air Bleed. In simple terms: Air Bleed is air pressure generated from the APU, redirected to, and forced through the engine cowl, to start spinning up the engine. This is necessary for the combustion chamber to build adequate pressure to ignite the fuel/air mixture and start the engine. Once enough pressure is built up and the igniters light the fuel/air, the engine becomes self sustaining. Once one engine is started you can then start the other engine; utilizing ALL the pressure that is provided by the APU. How do you start the engine in the air then? The force of air over the engine fan, provided by the aircraft moving through the air, is enough to spin the engine's fan shaft, fast enough to generate enough pressure to ignite the engine. Hope that helps! ;-)
  4. While I agree there is an issue with the Operating System version, this not entirely true. Windows 8 is a touch screen/tablet OS, and nothing more. Why everyone seems to think, "it is newer, it is better", is beyond me. The Simulator has not been tested and approved to run on Windows 8. Also, there is NO system requirement for this, "Must be on a 64 bit system" myth, that states that you have to have a 64 bit system. If you are required to have a 64 bit system, then they need to update their System Requirements, something awful. His problem is very clearly marked as a Visual C++ 2010 error( see bold in quote below ): Maffers, try the information I have posted here. Make sure that you go through the list in order( skip the 64 bit ones ). Start there, and then we'll see what pops up next.
  5. LOL, ok cool... I was hoping I didn't offend you.
  6. Did I do something to you? I kind of feel that these statements are personal... By the way, thanks for clarifying where I was posting. :noexpression: Ok, just got the manual... Page 53, shows that the "Radio Indicator Compass #2" is on the top left corner of the front dashboard. This is in fact drive by mechanics, not magnetism. It receives information from the "Remote Indicator Compass", in the left wing( page 24 ). The "Directional Gyro #3" is located left of center, on the front dashboard. This is mechanical also. There is a HUGE difference between a Compass and a RIC. I offered a general opinion on a general question about Gyro vs Compass. Of all the P-51D's I have seen in my life( real ones ), ALL of them have had a magnetic compass on top of the dashboard. Did DCS model this? I guess I will have to wait and see. Where they installed post WWII? Maybe so, but that doesn't negate what I have personally witnessed. So keeping with the P-51D, and not general rules of aviation, there is really no difference between the RIC and the Gyro, as far as accuracy goes; as both are mechanical.
  7. I don't own P-51( yet ), so I don't have the manual. But I have to say, what a horrible practice to fall into... Just because the P-51 has a "special" compass doesn't mean that you should accept that as the "golden" rule. I am not even sure that the information provided is valid, as I have never heard of that before; not saying it isn't valid, just have to research it myself. Also, the OP didn't ask about the "Remote Indicator Compass", he asked about the compass...
  8. The magnetic compass should only be used as reference, and definitely NOT relied on. In order for it to function correctly you need to be in level, constant speed flight. Banking, Pitch change and even Increase/Decrease in speed, causes the compass to "stick". Coupled with the fact that the P-51 can pull some pretty impressive G's, it sticks more often, than not. Remember that the compass, is floating on a needle, in liquid. Haven't you ever used one? Hand to shake it several times to get it to move? :pilotfly: The compass also relies on your geographical knowledge. You must know the magnetic offset of your location; which can change pretty quick due to man made and natural phenomenon. The gyro is the preferred of the two by the FAA, and the compass is there as a backup unit; I believe that is an actual question in the written part of your private pilot's license in the United States. FAA Instrument Flight Handbook( pgs 5-10 to 5-14 ) The Magnetic Compass of an Aircraft by Decoded Science
  9. Sorry guys, I didn't mean it like that... I saw that no one answered your post, so I did. But I just didn't want to be counter-productive. If Heater wants to do one, I could do another. I figured that the requests would start as soon as a couple got under way. I have a P-51 for FSX, and I packaged together the available( at the time ) repaints I could find; I found 92 of them! So there are a plethora of skins currently on real aircraft. I have to finish this darn Database for this Client of mine, and then can get back to Painting. So, do I finish the "touch ups" on Lady Alice? Or move to another request? If so, which one?
  10. So... Am I wasting my time?
  11. You can just print the layout on to paper. Or for a digital copy( PDF ): Try this PDF995. It is a FREE print to PDF piece of software( very small ). After install, set it as the Default Printer, and the print the profile from the Profile Editor.
  12. No worries dude! ;) Yep. This profile was made during A-10 v1.0.5.0. I don't even remember if it worked then, but I know that the functionality is not there now. I think that the real A-10 does not has this either. You could, however, map it to DAY/NIGHT from the AHCP.
  13. I have a client that needs a database fixed, at the moment. Then I have to make the Changes to Lady Alice. I will, BUT, I will when I can make time for it. In other words, "It will be finished, when it is finished.." Deal?
  14. I wasn't planning on it. Why, what scheme do you want? :detective_2:
  15. :megalol: Because I am an idiot... I accidently turned the Rivets/Lines off on the one wing! I knew that changes were going to be requested, so I threw it together really fast. I hadn't heard any response, so I thought all was good. I don't own P-51 yet( will buy it soon ). So I have to load this on an AI, and view it from F2 Camera. It will be fixed. I will re-pack the 2 version: Dogfighter & Air Show. ;)
  16. Roger, Roger and working on it now... ;)
  17. So you want a clean "Air Show" version? Sure, I can do that. I can't guarantee the "glossy", as that is usually dependent on the render capabilities of the game/sim engine. However, there is a Specular Map, I will play with that and see how "glossy" I can get it... Did you want your name on it( under the canopy )? Why should the "Doc" have all the fun! ;)
  18. Use Pan View instead. When you look to the left and down, then it stays there. Use the Reset View to return to forward looking.
  19. That's right, no pinkie + scroll button is view reset. I don't even remember my own programming! :book: No worries, let me know if you need anything else...
  20. Left click is the little button by the mini-stick. On the backside of the Throttle, there is a scroll wheel, like on your mouse. The scroll wheel also pushes in, and is, by default, the right click function of the mouse on the x52/52 Pro. No, that is the mini-stick. Scroll wheel, like on your mouse. I set the profile up to be truly HOTAS. However, in real life, and due to the limits of the software, you still need to manual perform some functions in the cockpit. By this method, I only mapped the most important features to the Controller, in 3 different modes, so during battle you have your Hands On Throttle And Stick.
  21. Ummm, you asked about UPLOADING a file, not DOWNLOADING one. :music_whistling: The mission you downloaded, needs to be placed in your "C:\Users\<YOUR_NAME_HERE>\Saved Games\DCS\Missions" folder. Do not extract it! Then from the Main Menu, just select Missions and choose the mission.
  22. :megalol: I don't think that is what he meant. I am guessing that Google Translate, tried to closely match his native word to an English one. I am also guessing, from his "H'you solve", that he meant "I'll try it, but I don't think it will work". @Spinny69mo Are you in fact using version 1.1.1.1? If so, I assume that you bought this off of Steam? Again, if so, try this: Steam & DCS World One last guess here, but I think that the OP has solved this, as the post is over a year old. Hope that helps! ;)
  23. Thanks! ;) That will affect your DMS and MIC( w/ Pinky ), did you find a substitute? I have the TrackIR Center set to the "Clutch" button( the one with the 'i' inside rotary 2 on the throttle ), and TrackIR Pause set to 'Pinky + Clutch'. YOu have to open the x52 Control Panel, and un-check the "Enable Clutch Mode" on the MFD tab for it to work. I use the scroll as a normal Zoom In/Out, and with the Pinky switch as the Boat Forward/Aft. I use the scroll button( push the scroll wheel in - actually mouse right click as normal ) as the Boat center. You could just assign the Trigger to be Brakes in Mode 3( MISC ), since you will not usually be shooting anything while taxi/take off/landing. The Throttle has a scroll/right click by default. I left POV1 as the means of looking( pan view ) around the cockpit. When I first created this profile, I did not have a TrackIR; just got one for X-mas a couple weeks ago. However, I left it, as sometimes when I pause my TrackIR, I use it to fine tune my view. My basic premise, or logic, for this profile was that I immediately noticed some Buttons/Hats were going to be used quite regularly. So like a RWR, I prioritized them by most important/used. I also tried to base this off my FSX settings, as the x52 works great right out of the box. That way I didn't have to get confused about what I was doing - tried to make it more second nature-ish. So, looking around was number one, and since FSX has the POV 1 as that function, I left it there. Coolie and DMS were a close 2nd/3rd, and since you use those two closely together a lot, I separated them( the whole L/R side of the brain thing ). TMS is used less frequently, so I made it readily accessible, and placed it on POV 2. The basic break down is system/target management is right hand( stick ), while sub-system is left hand( throttle ).
  24. Bonjour Skulleader, That is the only French I know, unfortunately. :music_whistling: I don't own the P-51 Module yet, so I had to add this to the AI P-51 in A-10. However it should work just fine on the Module version. If you tell me your name, I could add 'Col. Joe "Skulleader" Smith' under the canopy for you... Looking Right, at the Left side: Looking Left, at the Right side: *** EDIT *** Oops! Forgot to link the ZIP file. Just extract the folders, and move the "DCS World" folder to your "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics" directory. DCS_LadyAlice_P51-D.zip( 7.13MB ) *** EDIT 2 *** Changed the link to the DCS-World.com User Files. Let me know... ;)
