  1. Thanks for the suggestions, indeed that'd be a solution, though I don't think I can reach the quality and durability of the previously named products on my own unless I spend a great deal of time on it in terms of research and manufacturing, something I'd like to avoid, as rewarding as it would be. I think I'll just wait another couple of weeks to try and get info on the VKB set and hear back from VKB themselves and if not I'll just actively start searching for a second-hand pair of SIMPED F16/USB.
  2. Sorry for the double post, It just doesn't feel right to edit a post 4 days later. Well after a few exchanges with RealSim I can tell you that their set of pedals sure are of great quality and fidelity but they're just too expensive for my budget. Excluding taxes, VAT etc they are around 6300 euros or 8000+ dollars. It is indeed a professional-only piece of art. I guess I will be aiming for a VKB then, I'd still love some feedback on people who have that rudder pedals or have dealt with VKB products in the past. I might also try to get my hands on a second-hand F16/USB Simpeds.
  3. Yea I understand and I agree, though given how empty that hardware's current market is, I can accept a few drawbacks even on high priced units if I can easily deal with it.
  4. Yea these articles are very old, one would think they can provide a USB connection by now, (also given the articles they are quite open to provide various modules and/or custom works), still I wouldn't call it a deal breaker as I'm pretty sure there are adapter available. I got a response today basically telling me that maybe their product might be too 'pro' i.e high-grade material for my need & use as a private consumer, although the person sounded very friendly and curious about why would I need their product. But he didn't really gave me any real info so I'm still waiting for more specs or price as the conversation continues. The VKB unit indeed has pedals that are a bit weird in term of general design, though I wouldn't call that deal-breaking either, still if I would be to order those I would definitely go for the other pedal design that allow for a more combat style experience, they state that "There is a possibility to order short pedals pads, which allows to use pedals keeping feet on a floor." I can't find any other info and medias about that particular rudder pedal set though. I tried contacting them a few months ago but still no sign of life to this day, maybe you'll have better luck and they can provide you with some photos and infos. I know I'm not spending 600+ euros (counting VAT) without a first-hand contact with the manufacturer or the reseller. That website I provided is, from what I gathered, a relatively recent Europe antenna from that Russian company so maybe they're just not really ready just yet.
  5. Indeed that's what I gathered too, thanks. I still haven't heard from RealSim, but from what I could find after digging a bit, the price for that set is around $2200 and that's second-hand deals. If it turns out that 2K+ really is the price then I guess the choice will be very easy to make, especially considering it 'simply' is supported by linear potentiometers while the VKB has digital sensors D-MaRS all over. ^^
  6. Hi guys, I really am in need of rudder pedals though I don't really feel like buying plastic considering I'm in the process of equiping myself with hardware that might be expensive at first but that will last for years and years to come. The Saitek pedals, as nice as they are just doesn't cut it imho. I am willing to spend 2 or 3 times its price for a product that would be more reliable and last me for a looooong time. Still my budget isn't unlimited and I'm not willing to spend $2000. The Simpeds sounded very nice but sadly they are discontinued. As a result My choice comes down to two products: -the VKB rudder pedals Mk.21-3 -and the Spanish RealSimulator one (Assuming they still manufacture them, I am in the process of contacting them, I still don't have a price tag) So far I'd be more inclined to get the 2nd option. I was wondering if you could provide me with some.. input. What you guys would choose and why? Any insight truly will be appreciated. Cheers
  7. Agreed. It's the kind of game though that asks for quite some time to get popular. Imo, it will need some time to grow a good community, but every person that gets onboard, will most likely stay till the end. Slowly building hype, but in a steady and solid manner.
  8. From what I gather Rogue System will be HIGHLY mod-able (tho maybe not mod-friendly) so I'm sure that in time it will be possible for modders to implement their own design. I'm with you on that btw, I'm a graphic designer IRL and love to do some Concept Arts and you can bet I'll do a bunch of ship or station sketches for Rogue System!
  9. I still don't know how much I'll pledge, but I will pledge for sure. Your last video was impressive, I was blown away at how immersive it felt when you put the pilot secure bracket in place and put the helmet on, I'll remember that for some time, more of that! I expected to hear the typical pilot helmet breath sound but it didn't come though, is that planned?
  10. Helicopters ain't supposed to stand against jets, everything, afaik is as it should be, it just is, like it's been stated, a matter of mission design. When you hop in a server you shouldn't jump in your fav aircraft but in the most needed one given the current situation, or wait for the situation to allow you to man your fav aircraft. In your case, wait till you got friendlies watching over you, that makes for tremendous co-op experiences, that or hit&run back to your safe area asap fingers crossed :)
  11. Ugh please not the F-35, that aircraft is a disgrace in so many ways, irl anyways. A new modern Jet modeled as well as the A-10C sure would be great though, just not the F-35... F/A 18 Super Hornet sounds neat and would add for plenty of both single and multi-player amazing experience. Still I'd love a modern Fighter Jet that comes from another theater than the usual USA/Eastern Europe blocks. One could think of nowadays rather successful multi-role fighters like the French Rafale or European Typhoon for one.
