If you guys didn't see it, ED just posted this... https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=200340

I had the issues on the Raven's server on 1.5, I have not had any of these issues when I regularly fly on there in other planes, including while I was flying other planes during the same session as I was having the spitfire problems. The server admin there told me that the Spitfire often causes them problems and removed it from the roster. I had the same problems on AO on 2.2 NTTR and haven't in other planes there. ACG WWII and the RAF server in Normandy also gave exactly the same problems in the Spitfire, I couldn't test other planes as it's the only WWII plane I own, but friends in P-51s didn't have the problems at all (except when it seemed I was causing them to get kicked out). I didn't contact the admins there about it. Since posting my OP I have found out that the Burning Skies server on 2.2 (Normandy) have also removed the spitfire as it crashes the server when people try to fly it.

My tongue was firmly in my cheek while typing that comment!

I'm hoping that all resources are being funneled into making sure that 2.5 doesn't have any of these bugs! I can understand them not rushing to fix 1.5 or 2.2 if it means that 2.5 will be released as a fully working simulator and multiplayer environment in the next 2 weeks as promised.

Hello, I'm having real trouble with the spit in multiplayer at the moment. Some of the problems I've encountered in the last week are listed below, I have experienced all of them in a number of servers in both 1.5 and 2.2. I have flown other planes in the same servers and not had any of these problems. * Getting kicked from server, other users report that the reason is "protocol error" * Everyone else getting kicked and leaving only me in the server, this has usually happened exactly as I land the spitfire. * Other players cannot see me, or I cannot see them. I've been on TeamSpeak with other players and despite being next to them on the runway, ramp or in the air we cannot see each other or only one can see the other. Sometimes this means the planes pass right through each other, sometimes they appear just before they touch and do damage. Sometimes the guns do no damage to other planes while in this state, sometimes they do. Often I appear to other players just as I fire then disappear again. I stress again that this is not happening in any other planes I have tested. Including, F-5e, MiG-21, Mirage, A-10C. It has happened in both 1.5 and 2.2 and on all 3 maps. It has already led to at least one server that I know of removing the spitfire all together. This may have been going on for longer than a week, I didn't see any other threads about it.

Has a recent update nerfed the MiG-21's radar? It seems impossible recently to pick up contacts, even if they are above the horizon. It just seems to have been a problem for the last week or so and while I'm sure it is more realistic it has destroyed the boom and zoom tactic used by so many of the fishbed pilots in multiplayer. I'm not complaining about this, I'm just curious what exactly has been done as I haven't seen any mention of it anywhere, but my friends and I have found ourselves at a real disadvantage since the change.

Has anybody actually got the Normandy map installing yet? - I'm updating to 2.1 currently, but slowly (415KB/s).

Hi Since installing Tacview my DCS won't connect to the internet, I just can't log in and it says "can't connect to the internet". I'm just using the free trail version. My internet is working fine for everything else. I wondered if anybody else has had this problem or if there are any known fixes available. **EDIT** It wasn't Tacview it was my router, the problem just started at exactly the same moment as i installed Tacview.

Looking for someone in SE Asia timezone to fly with

Hello I can't speak for SGT Obi, but I think I may be too inexperienced to fly proper sorties with an established group. What planes do you fly? Also 1400 in which timezone? -
Looking for someone in SE Asia timezone to fly with
Maffers replied to Maffers's topic in Multiplayer
Hi, yes, we should try and fly together sometime. I've only flown the MiG-21 a couple of times and never even tried the SU-27. What times are you available. I am free every evening from about 7pm (9pm Tokyo time), but can probably only get away with flying once or twice a week before my wife gets crazy. I'm also free on Saturday mornings and Sunday afternoons. -
Hi I'm living in Vietnam and looking for somebody in this neck of the woods to fly with. Nothing serious just practicing formation flying and comms chat, maybe a few missions or a bit of dogfighting. I want somebody in this area as it seems to be impossible to link up with other English speakers back home and still have good ping, also the time difference is a problem while trying to arrange games. I have the A-10C, F-5e, MiG 21 and Spitfire modules as well as Flaming Cliffs but wouldn't describe myself as good at flying any of them. If you are interested please get in touch!

Thanks again!

I now own the Normandy map, does that mean that I can now download DCS 2.0 or will I need to wait for the map to be released?
-
Thanks so much guys, off to the pre-order page I go...
-
In your comment you mention that you'll need DCS 2.0 to use the Normandy map. I'm excited to pre-order the new map but don't have DCS 2.0 as flying over a desert (no matter how beautiful) doesn't really appeal, so I never bought Nevada. DCS 2.0's download page still says the Nevada map is required. Does this mean I'll have to buy Nevada in order to use Normandy? I really hope not as that doubles the price!

Crash to desktop when loading any mission type
Maffers replied to Maffers's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Thanks to both of you! Bengo's fix got the game running (but with no sound) and Sven's suggestions got the sound working. I'm guessing learning how to fly the damn thing is going to make getting the game running look like a piece of cake! I still haven't been asked for my key though - is this normal? I could have just downloaded it for free... -
Hello Please excuse me if I am an idiot and this has already been answered, but I've spent ages going through the forum and trying suggestions with no joy. I had DCS A-10c on steam and was getting runtime errors that prevented it from loading. After reading other posts I uninstalled it, installed DCS world and the A-10c module (It's version 1.2.2). I didn't install the new visual CC (June 2010) as my version is newer so it would not let me (in another post on the forum somebody says "humor me and try installing the one linked to in my signiture, I tried this but again it wouldn't let me install it). When I launch DCS world it works fine until I try to start any kind of mission (or training). When I do I get the little splash screen then the full screen picture of the warthog (or the other free plane, which I also tried and which also doesn't work). The loading bar at the bottom gets to about 3/4 complete, then I get a CTD and the message "DCS world has stopped responding and needs to close...". After this the DCS world loading screen comes back up and loads but just returns me straight toi my desktop. I have tried running as administrator and have UACs turned off. I have not been asked to enter my CD key from steam at any point so far. I get this error message in event viewer: Faulting application name: dcs.exe, version: 1.2.2.7570, time stamp: 0x50ae8d54 Faulting module name: MSVCR100.dll, version: 10.0.40219.325, time stamp: 0x4df2be1e Exception code: 0xc0000005 Fault offset: 0x00001ed7 Faulting process id: 0xa1c Faulting application start time: 0x01ce0462e45bbaaa Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\dcs.exe Faulting module path: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\MSVCR100.dll Report Id: 471182ce-7056-11e2-afb7-00a0d1ad477d Faulting package full name: Faulting package-relative application ID: I have tried downloading and reinstalling MSVCR100.dll but that didn't help. I am running on Windows 8 32bit, 4GB RAM, Intel T6400 (2GHz Dual Core), Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT (1GB). I realiase that this is on the lower end of the system requirements but I have had this game running on this laptop in the past (on Vista), I seem to remember it being a real pain getting it to work then too). I also read that the game can crash if not run in native resolution, so I am doing so. I hope that this is enough information to help me out! Thanks.
