  1. I tend to activate the aux/robin tank when I think the fore and aft tanks look a bit low. It can be 1 hour into the flight.

it would probably be more interesting whether shifting weight to the rear tank is more advantageous.

The huge tail stabilizer concerns me more. Big working aerodynamic surface.... It just draws my interest..... I do not like the nudge up/down function though!

  2. In two weeks we will be flipping the FCR switch and setting the scan plane in X,Y and Z axis precisely in order to reduce radar noise but increase fast scan resolution on our point of interest..... it will be lovely.

In two weeks it will be ours. 🙂

  3. It is very important to get your IHADS reference point calibrated at start up.

I think I read somewhere that you should be sitting comfortably....... NO.... NO.... NO! The reference point is not comfortable for every one!

When you align the IHADS system at start up, you must get all 3 rings lining up concentrically and you must line up the HMD Line Of Sight cross hair in the centre of the 3 perfectly aligned circles.

No mater who says what or whom is saying it, this is point reference and is engineered to be so.

After calibration you can slump in your chair as bad as I do, shoulders slumped, head cocked forward... it does not matter as the reference point is set and done.... weapon is calculating skull in space position from calibration point..... it does not stop calculating skull position..... ever!

  4. The pedals must be damped..... it is very important when choosing your pedals!

There must be no self centring for choppers.

More importantly you must be able to quickly reconfigure to self centring and be able to adjust the damping factor as they are not the for same jets, props and choppers.

  5. The Apache hovers beautifully.

As mentioned above check if any game modes are enabled.

I think it depends on what you are using for a reference, in the Huey and like most other choppers in DCS you would use a ground reference to hover, It is easy then.

You fix your view on something distant or close and use that as a reference point for maintaining a hover.

In the Apache you also have to learn to look through the symbology on the IHADDS, the symbology creates confusion. The symbology is an aid... not the truth!

The Hover symbology especially, is far too accurate or sensitive for most users to learn chopper hovering.... I find it difficult to use the hover mode IHADDS setting as I end up chasing my own tail trying to seek some mathematical perfection... in reality a little drift is just fine for prosecution of multiple targets.

Instead, use the transition IHADDS mode to hold a hover whilst looking through the symbology to a fixed tree or structure to hover behind. The transition mode is crude for holding a hover but far more forgiving and will better serve most operators. A little drift here or there will still get 16 Hellfires on target whilst your airframe is deep in amongst trees.

Remember.... the yanks spent a lot of money on this targeting suite, once the Hellfire is off the rails, do not worry about any yaw drift or where the nose is pointing.... leave the work to George.... no or little smooth pedal work as that slow old Hellfire makes its way to the target.... we do not want to make George's work harder.

As a pilot concentrate on your height, loosing weight always means gaining height!

Also be vigilante that loosing the weight of one missile off one wing will roll the airframe to the heavier side and ultimately increase drift to the heavier side.... fabulous module!

    Truly fabulous!

    🙂

Priority should absolutely be given to us long-standing Total Controls customers who also own the Button Box . . .

But seriously, will there be a cap on how many units any one person can purchase?  Would be great if those first 300 get spread out across a wide band of folks.

No..... No, I am not so sure about that, and nor should JackFlash be sure about it..... Me first please. 🙂

The Apache keyboard unit would also be cool.... especially if it had the ability to emulate an actual keyboard at the press of an additional button for sending messages with multiplayer chat rooms... or discords or whatever it is called now a days.

I will use monocle option for both eyes in VR.

Im glad that will be an option.

Cant wait to be an Apache Boy for years to come.

    I doubt it.

I doubt it very much... almost hilarious.

I guess this is end of comms on this subject once it becomes pathetic posts from no one.

In 10 years... So you're 12? That explains a lot actually. Good luck passing that psych eval though.... I think the armies of the world want more level headed soldiers flying their 50 million dollar hardware. You'd make a good grunt though. Here's your $300 M-16. Have at it. emoji1787.png

    53 years of age mate.

Got the first computer available in the UK.

Logged onto the first internet that ever existed in the UK.... it was DOS driven.

This alone stands head and shoulders above what you have achieved on the net.... Mate!

I think what we need right now is exactly people like me, we do not neeed monkeys like you Dannnyvandelft.....people like you are the problem with the world.

Rogue Trooper I feel like you need a hug. Do you need a hug? I won't give you the hug, but we can probably arrange for that to happen.

    I do need a hug.

    I really need it!

The end result just does not feel proper!

In one year, post release, I sense my ultimate weapon will be dropped into the "to do bin", as DCS evolves, the mighty Apache will drop into the league of the magnificent KA-50. I cry, it a start that lacks lustre. A weapon that needs correction 5 years after the fact of birth.

I have seen and lived such things!

  10. There is the AH-1Z option.

Or there is the APACHE AH-64D WEAPON system in VR with left or right monocle.

    That is it!

ED needs to decide how it drops in VR.

Central pos just will not work in VR!

Nobody gives two tosses how pancake drops, left, centre or right..... who gives a f%^K!

  11. You are not a chopper boy.

This module does not run in your veins like it does with me.

Even if I get banned for a few months it does not matter, I have skin in this game..... This is the APACHE AH-64D and it will be done right.

For 10 years Raptor9  I have known you, you are not a chopper boy.

The AH-64 is the very pinnacle of attack choppers, it will be done right.

  12. Hellooooo. (1) There is no structural change for a helmet that only has a right hand fitment! However In the interim (since WAGs argument) I believe a left eye piece may be prudent.

    (2) I do not believe the "game" is of any interest to the long term sim.

    (3) No, I think you have no long term interest in the AH-64D module.... I truly believe that! I believe your input is worthless.

Hate to break it to you, but the documentary Firebirds was hugely wrong about that whole eye dominance thing. And yes, it’s right eye only in the bird.

    No left or right.

    Centre is a no no.

I wish there was a dis-like button for this. What's all this "we" talk? Just because other people might play the DCS AH-64D with a different VR set-up than you? Why would someone playing with the monocle on the left, right, or both eyes have any bearing on your gameplay? Just because people don't agree with you, doesn't mean DCS AH-64D will suffer some form of "quality deficiency".

Some friendly advice: don't concern yourself with how other people intend to play DCS.  This level of stress can't be healthy.

    No?

How is that, in the Raptor 9 world, how does such a structural change to reality work?

There is little stress on my side, it is something you believe to be valid, but I do not. For the life of me I cannot understand why your point of view holds more weight than mine... 🙂

Raptor 9, you will spend minimal time in the Apache..... I will spend years in the Apache, I just do not get it.

  15. Too all the real life Apache pilots out there in this forum.

It is your job to maintain quality control. WE... yes WE did not employ you to just say that will do.

Your job is not to slack jaw it through production when ED say "I think that is close enough!"

Your job is to ensure mission complete and accurate........Target point is Apache AH-64D "early" simulation.
