    MiG21 FM in 1.5

Isn't the white painted line supposed to be for spin recovery?
  3. I feel like I need to mail you guys some dictionaries.
  4. Hahaha. I'll just have to do it myself then! This is why we need DCS: C172, for all those haters...
  5. Go on explain it. By contemporary do you actually mean "of similar performance"? Because those are two different things.
  6. When you made the comment about not wandering tooooooo far south, are you talking about the Groom Lake box? And...what happens if you do?!
  7. Fair enough then mate.
  8. While I think you're right in one sense- that most people when they think MiG21 v F4 it's with the Vietnam War in mind- I would argue that the -21bis, being that she entered service in 1972/3 is a natural contemporary enemy of the F-4E up until the late 70s when the Eagle et al where fully in service. I say this with a hypothetical Euro war in mind but you could also extend it out to the various Israel/Arab states conflicts from the mid-70s through to maybe the early 90s I'd say. All that said calling something a "rival" as if it was the only one is a bit of a simplification. After all, the MiG21bis was mostly used for point interceptions, specifically bombers as I understood it, the F4E for ground attack and Weasel, for the most part.
  9. Unfortunately it's not the F4 and almost guaranteed to be the Viggen. I say unfortunately because I would rather the F4 but I think the Viggen would still be very cool. An F111C would be great too. The Aussie ones were very capable.
  10. How do you know it's a feature?

    M2000C PFM or AFM?

    M2000C PFM or AFM?

In September 2099. And yes, it will come with all the flange you can handle, and then some.

    M2000C PFM or AFM?

I bang on about this nearly every time it comes up because I think it's important but my opinion is exactly as VincentLaw says: They need to revise them. It's all well and good having a sticky on the forum but most of their customers don't read the forums. Hence why we have massive amounts of confusion. Something like Realistic Flight Model and Simple Flight Model with a caveat I think would be a good compromise. For example: "The F42938 module sports a Realistic Flight Model (to the 3rd party standard*), boasts 4500 AMRAAMS, etc etc. " "The A3410 module has a Simple Flight Model but will later be upgraded to the Realistic Flight Model etc etc." "RFM (3rd party dev) means the flight model is held to a very high standard but this standard is not guaranteed by Eagle Dynamics."
  14. I was going to pre-purchase the L39 and Nevada next payday, now I suppose it will defo have to be this.
  15. You can have a good guess based on released manuals and whatnot. For example, the F4E has all the manuals available freely and same for the SR71- except the SR71 has the top speed redacted while the F4E has all the performance charts. So yeah, it's pretty easy to get an idea of what is and isn't still classified if you take an all sources approach (as you should).
  16. Someone fetch my hat, I'm going to the Temple of Leather Neck to retrieve the treasure and solve this neolithic mystery once and for all.
  17. If you want to continue this particular conversation you can PM me with links and references and we can talk about it there.
  18. Big statement to make considering they never overflew the USSR...
  19. But that's the thing, the other dev that looked at it likely wasn't doing the same one- they were probably looking at the British one. The F-4E is pretty much unclassified except I'd imagine for the radar. I do think it's unlikely but I feel I have to keep on taking down this particular myth.
  20. When you know about it, yeah, you're right. If I were a new customer and I saw all these terms applied to different product (yet all mean the same thing) I would be bamboozled, bamboozled I tell you.
  21. The AFM/SFM/KFC/NSA convolution gives me a migraine.
  22. Could someone please move this into the "How To" section of the forums? posting while tired is never a good thing.
  23. Hey guys/gals, What programs would I need to learn to model the terrain and the associated above ground items in order to provide a sample to ED for possibly getting access to the SDK to produce a full sized map? I have a few friends I could approach to help form a company but my main area of expertise would be research and plotting. So to that effect I'd like to learn the programs, at least to be able to approach them with a plan. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Cheers, J7G
  24. They weren't saying but it's a fair assumption they were thinking about the RAF/RN model, which is likely considering their UK bent. The -4E at least is mostly declassified (at least with operation and performance, radar notwithstanding). Boeing also own the F18 and there's one of those coming...
  25. All those steam powered systems I'd imagine would be more complex to model than the F14? I don't think it's a Phantom but Phuck me would I be a Pleased Phanatic if it were!
