Will there be some kind of announcement prior to the early access release of the Mig 29? I'm absolutely and definitely going to by this module, but I'd like to buy it for the pre-purchase price and as late as possible. PS: My budget has gotten a little tight after I've granted myself a Moza AB9 FFB Base last month -which I can only recommend by the way. Finally I can switch from F-16 to UH-1 in an instant. Which is actually much more worth than the force feedback itself. For chopper guys this is the only way to go anyways.

And even more potential content creators are a bad thing then? I don't get it. Aside from that, it could've been a nice suprise and a gesture of acknowledgement to the people that trusted them and their product in advance. But on the other hand I really don't want to make too much of a deal out of this whole thing. I have, anyways, too many aircraft to learn.

My very first thought in this regard.

First of all, the "flag" is always showing three whites by nature. Which is usually supposed to indicate some sort of failure, which in turn was discovered by the HSD BIT. Secondly, what it shows or doesn't show, doesn't seem to be in any way connected to the actual HSD BIT, or rather the pushing of the HSD BIT button, since I also wasn't able to run an actual BIT in the first place. And thirdly, and that one is probably the strangest one, turning the caging knob of the SAI(Standby Attitude Indicator) also rotates the HSD BIT Failure Indicator. It seems that everything around the HSD BIT and its associated buttons and knobs is wrongly "wired".

It's not so much about the release itself, even though I'm greatly looking forward to it. I just wanted to know how much time I would have left to buy this gem at its current discount. Should probably just buy it. But thanks for the replys

I suppose so. But is there any word out when that could/would approximately be? I mean roughly. The next few days, in around two weeks, this month? PS: EA stands for what? Or just a typo?

Until when will the F-15E be pre-orderable?

Ofc that is the way how NVG's work. That's why I also asked if there's a way to tone the tankers position lights down. I'm sure that in reality you either don't have to turn the NVG's sensitivity up as much as I do to spot the drogue, or the tankers lights are much more toned down/NVG friendly. With NVG's on even only formation stripes would be sufficent enough to get an idea of the tankers attitude. Also irl there would be actual communication between the tanker and the refueling jets. And as soon as the entire refueling party would have arrived and wait in line there iwould be no real need for those bright/obstructive position lights, since you can see everything as clear as in green daylight. Either way, I tweaked the NVG file a little. It doesn't really change the contrast or anything what I was asking for, but now the NVG shader covers 95% of my screen which makes it at least in some way a little easier for me to refuel, since my "NVG enhanced vision" now also spans into my peripheral vision and I can see a good portion of the receptible tip in the corner of my eyes. Very helpful for situational awareness, at least for me. And it even makes it easier for me to spot the drogue in the first place, even with the same NVG sensitivity. Since the entire screen has more or less the same brightness. I've changed those values in the PostEffects file called NVD_common, to those that are shown here #define MASK_SIZE (0.7/1.2) Directory: \DCS World\Bazar\shaders\PostEffects\NVD_common Aside from this I wouldn't touch anything in the game, neither via the UI nor through mods -in terms of making DCS anything but realistic. I have everything on realistic including wake turbulence etc., but the NVG's might be a little bit too tiny in my opinion.

I don't think you could call this a "bug" per se, but I don't know where else I should place this topic/thread. The thing is, that A/A refueling is hard enough as it is under daytime conditions. But when you can't even see the drogue it is basically impossible to make those very minute adjustments you have to do constantly. Not to mention, that the flickering of the tanker's position lights have a good chance to give you some actual headaches after hours of nighttime A/A refuel training. Question: is there a way to tone the tanker's lights down in some config file, or to change something on the NVG's, so you could turn up their sensitivity, without turning artificial light sources into retina melting lasers at the same time? PS:I fly the A-10CII, the F/A-18C and the F-14B. I have no trouble with the A-10, because there are no position lights that could make the tail boom disappear entirely behind their brightness. And the F/A-18 has the benefit of having an actually very useful probe light, whereas the Tomcat's Probe light has to be some kind of inside joke I don't get. Thanks in advance for some constructive tips on refueling one of my absolute favorite DCS modules at night.

solved After deleting module folder I can't reinstall the aircraft
Frost replied to Frost's topic in Installation Problems
A complete installation repair* did the trick -as suggested from ED's support. I couldn't find a designated repair.exe, but this issue was resolved quite well in this FAQ section: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/repair/#2463807 *I tried a mere update through the existing update.exe which didn't work at all.- 1 reply

After my trial period of the F/A-18 has expired I deleted the respective mod folder manually. But now that I've actually bought the module I'm not able to install that module again. The menu UI shows this little red icon, that implies, that I have a new module aquired, but when I click the module manager this little install-window won't appear. I'm certain my DCS installation is somehow confused, because there is some file where the F/A-18 is still listed as installed, but somewhere else it isn't, because I didn't uninstall it correctly. Any suggestions what I'm supposed to do -except from entirely reinstalling DCS World?

I was really patient. Wrote my fingers sore, more or less excused myself but you guys would never stop. And then when I actually loose it you would write something like "figures", whilst you hide behind your little desk, you poor little trapper. This is nothing but a pathetic little witch hunt. At least since 25 replys its not about helping anyone, but hunting a person. And you freakin know that, because I know, that you can't be that stupid. Be honest, you are just venting your own frustration here and set up traps. Trapper and evil wolves, didn't excepct those in this forum. But that's life, never stops suprising.
-
Could not have said it better myself. That's exactly how many replys come across to me. It's not that they are bad, or stupid, but their general tone and how they get repeatet. As if no one is reading the previous replys, or just doesn't care. So I'm not crazy since someone else can "hear" that as well. Very brave of you to expose yourself like that. I really men that. And thanks for your encouraging words, I'll keep practicing. I mean that's the whole reason I play sims and games anyways. But I still want to know if I'm doing something inherently wrong, or just want to be more effective. I love flying/practicing, but that doesn't mean I can't get mad or frustrated. But it's not like I would have to pass an exam in the immediate future. And I'm certainly not in the military either. So there is really no need to get "screamed" at or lectured in a patronizing way.

Lol, you are right. Still got real life stuff to do though. Like writing in forums at work. But seriously, maybe everything changes in a custom mission, at a lower airspeed and without a wingman that wouldn't make way for me like in the instant action mission. I've read that others too had more problems in that instant action AAR mission, than when they set up their own. That's what I'll try as soon as I'm at home.

It's not about me right? It's about yourself. Think about it and if you'd be so funny in someones face too. Not in my face, that I am sure. It's really a waste of time to feed starving forum wolves like yourself, but I just can't stop to reply. Which is actually a bigger problem for me than AAR. I just can't understand why some people haven't enough pride or self respect to not sink below a certain level of communication. Especially in a forum of their favorite hobby. It's like crapping where you eat. Why would you do that? DCS is absolutely awesome and I'm very grateful to live in a time where sims like that are even technically possible inside my own four walls. PS: Is it really not possible to leave this thread alone now. Just proof yourself, that you are better than me by giving a f... about this thread. You don't have to bully or be sarcastic without end. You can achieve that, I believe in you awesome virtual fighter pilots. This might be your toughest battle and your greatest challenge, but you can achieve it. You don't have to writte further replys in order to tell me what an ungrateful loser I am. Just not do it, you can do it.
-
Elitist conspiracy? Do you even read your own comments. Read my initial post. I can refuel(i.e. the A-10C), just not the F-14. Not consistent at least. Yesterday I achieved around 20-30 seconds on the drogue. Cute, I know, but that certainly didn't happened by accident. So please stop talking to me as if I know absolute crap. I actually have to practice. I just wanted to try it at first without wake vortices, so I unchecked them in the menu, but they were still present in the instant mission. So I was asking if the F-14 module simulates its own aerodynamics on top of DCS'. And will this go on forever now. How many forum members will just write an reply in this tthread in order to tell me that I did all this to myself. Does someone really think that that is grown up behavior. Or that he, or she actually contributes something constructive to the community? Maybe so, I'm definitely too simple to understand that. Again sorry, I'm dump, just cancel this thread, wasn't important anyways. Don't waste your time on a fool like me. Thank you very much.

You guys really are a starved out pack of wolves Forum wolves. Be proud of yourself...not. And thanks draconus, you are a real friend. Thank you for everything. PS: I'm sorry
-
Just read draconus reply on the previous page and you'll get what I mean. I might have irritated some people, but if I would make suggestions to someone else, I wouldn't write as if I would scream in his/her face. As I've said, I might be too sensitive, but that's the overall tone from a couple replys for me. Ok, you tell me something as an experienced virtual pilot, I'll take that. But I'm just telling you as just an ordinary person how some of your lines sound on the receiving end. This here is not a life or death situation, so there is really no need to scream instructions in my face. And that's how it sounds to me, even if it wasn't intended that way.

I never experienced that case. Except if the tanker is turning he keeps his speed very acurately. I suppose that's because the tanker would be on AP irl. But yes, if (for whatever reason) the tanker changes his speed I would have to get a new reference speed. But don't get too hung up on that IAS thing. That is really secondary and wasn't part of my initial post. PS: I don't know why but this talking in absolutes is really not my thing. It comes across as extremely preachy and that's exactly what I'm talking about the entire time. And people think I give a crap about their comments. No, I definitelly don't do that, really, I do appreciate them. But why do so many people have to end there comments with one of those super annoying lines like "get used to it", "just practice", or "don't do that evaaar"? Would you like that someone would talk to you like that? Would you really enjoy that? and please be honest.

#1 I'm a very normal guy I'm not aggressive nor do I have a particular attitude. I didn't say I know anything better, but yes, I definitely already knew most of what I've read here. And I'm not complaining about that. It's more the tone of some comments, or the final "get good"/"take it or die" line. Or this "we don't need it, it was built this way, swallow it, or play Ace Combat" attitude. I do swallow it and I will practice until my head explodes -believe me. But is it really prohibited to point out things I might find a little odd in an aircraft? Can I have an opinion even though I'm neither a Pilot, a mechanic, or an ace virtual pilot? And I know that I'm not overreacting because I've read some replys that were different from the rest -in a good way. Not necessarily in terms of their factual content, but in their overall tone. The people in this thread that have read those comments know who I mean. So there is actually another way to communicate. But seriously can you guys actually, absolutely and finally stop telling me what an ungrateful begger I am. I got the message. Time to get back on topic or give a crap about this thread. Nobody is forced to read or reply on this thread. I won't annoy you anymore. I'm too sensitive and ungrateful for this forum. Please don't waste any more of your time on a noob like me. I won't open another thread, just leave me alone. I'll stuck with YT and reading in this forum only. And you will never hear a personal opinion from me. Seriously just skip this thread. I'm done here.
-
Do you even read the replys? The whole IAS thing came up later in the thread as a side note. Thewake turbulences and a couple other things are a much bigger problem, but I wrote all that in my initial post. And didn't I just wrote that I already apply what all of those guys wrote? Really, please tell me what drives people like you to just crank out ignorant stuff like you just did? And no, I don't say, that you are generally an ignorant person, but your comment is. Because just read at least my last post again. And after that, just stop it now people, or close this thread, its getting bizzar. It's likle you are a bunch of starving wolfes that found their prey or something.
