Anyone from Belsimtek aware of this? This is an issue that needs to be addressed. -
Those were copies I made during testing and tweaking so that I wouldn't lose a previously good version. You can delete all copies if you like; normally I do that before I upload a new version but I must have missed it.

Thanks a lot! You should be hearing the igniters, or spark plugs, if your doors are open.

Yeah there are posts in this thread about his issue. It's not the mod because the default sounds will do the same thing. I have been trying to figure out the cause with no luck. I've also posted in Belaimtek's forum on bugs with no response. Me and the guys at 1st Cav Div are trying to figure it out.

Further testing tonight on 1stCavDiv servers yielded the same results with other helicopters being flown by humans, so it's not just AI aircraft. -
Yes that is normal, check out some You Tube videos of an actual Hueys flying by.

How difficult would it be to make the main rotor blade free so it can tilt up and down when the engine is off. Additionally, be able to apply a tie downs so it's parallel with the fuselage with the front up in the air like this when cold and dark: That, along with engine stress and hot starts would make this module nearly perfect.

I have discovered that if I place a AI Huey in a mission it causes the startup sound to be garbled and quite until reaching idle RPM. I have tested it with other AI aircraft and it doesn't cause any issues. The only 'work around' I have found is to have the AI Huey on start delay. Please fix this.

Okay, I've narrow down the problem to any AI Hueys being in the mission. I don't know why this is such a problem but it's definitely not the sound mod because the same problem occurs with default sound as well. One work around is to put the AI Huey(s) on a start delay and get through your startup but if you land again and start up it'll cause the issue. We, at 1st Cav Div, are still working on what's causing the problem. Also, the Huey is the only AI aircraft that cause this to happen, so far anyway I've tried almost all the helicopters.

Okay guys, I've been working hard to improve this mod and make it as close to the real thing as possible. See the first post and download the new update. Also, for those of you having issues with the sound being too quiet, please be as specific as possible as far as what you are experiencing; I have noticed now in both multiplayer and single player that the startup sound is garbled and quiet till it spools up to idle, I have no idea why this is happening. It doesn't happen all the time and it's not the mod itself because I can turn the mod off and use the default sound and it does the same thing. I would like to figure out what is causing this so any constructive help would be appreciated.

Yea, I'm talking about in multiplayer. I will try this solution and see if that clears up multiplayer as well. Thanks.

Just to be clear, the startup sound along with the igniters, which is the click, click, click you hear, along with all sound being garbled and quiet till you near idle RPM. This only happens on multiplayer servers in my experience. Is this what you mean and this will fix that issue?

It's not the mod. There is something going on with multiplayer servers and I have found that if you restart the mission it clears up the issue. I am trying to work out what the deal is but I haven't had any luck. Any help with this would be appreciated.

Does it sound choppy and cut in and out as it starts up and are you experiencing this in both single player and multiplayer?

Thanks. You should be hearing a strong and loud whop-whop when you descend and maneuver at speeds of 80 knots or greater. That sound is modeled and I took great care to get that part right as well. If you don't hear it you might try downloading it again.

Did you bother to read the first post, or did you just download it and use it? To answer your question the sound files have been extensively tested in single player, multiplayer, by ACTUAL HUEY PILOTS, for the last three years of development. My group has used this sound pack for three years before you were able to get your hands on it. You are the only one who has complianded about any of it. I listened to your first complaint and responded with an update the same day--YOU'RE WELCOME. As for the issue you have mentioned now: I have noticed, on occasion, that the start up sound crackles and can't be heard in multiplayer servers. I have no idea why. I have found that starting the mission over will remedy it. I have also had success by deleting the saved game folder.

The only change was removing the high frequencies in the startup sound that you mentioned before. I can hear the startup just fine on my setup so I don't really know what you're talking about.

I'm working on the startup sound. I see what you are talking about but those frequencies are in the original video from which the sound was taken. In order for me to remove them I have lots of modding to do.
